Must literally be a full time job running this channel TMF. It has to be appreciated in a review like this where you have organised and edited clips from 2 different bikes in different seasons to demonstrate real world useability. Good work mate, let's see how they fare in the arctic circle next week.... 👍
I can’t help thinking you created this whole youtube thing just as an excuse to your wife to go biking hahahahaha “im sorry darling I can’t go shopping, ive got to do a bike glove review” hahahahaha brilliant
After years of trying gloves I now use Knox Orsa MX gloves for summer, short and great knuckle protection, and Held Air n Dry for the rest of the year, both excellent quality and protection without losing feel. Loved a pair of Rukka Viridium until the liner started coming out with my hand.
I have a few bits of Weise kit including a textile jacket, and I have found it all to be well made and hard wearing, as well as being good value. Another really useful review TMF
I was wearing a worn out pair of Alpinestar shorty gloves for the last five or six years. They were beginning to come apart and hadn’t been safe to wear for the last several months. I wore them to Daytona shortly after I bought them and during a heavy rain, they turned my hands a dreadful shade of grey. I finally lost one (subconsciously, I probably wanted to) and fell back on a pair of $10 Joe Rocket gloves I bought with a used Scorpion helmet (don’t ask). I recently bought a new Shoei helmet that I love and know I want new gloves as well. I just hate to waste the perfectly good Joe Rocket gloves even though the gauntlet style doesn’t fit under the sleeves of my 42 year old motorcycle jacket. It’s hot here in Florida for seven months of the year. The Weiss Deacons just might be the answer. Thank you Flyer.
Look great gloves. I still go for my cheapest Hunter short gloves in the summer, comfortable and lightweight and only £10.00 For wet weather riding I highly recommend the Held air and dry dual chamber gloves, gore tex and they really don't let the water in during heavy rain. Stupidly expensive mind.
I bought some Sakura summer gloves from the 78 Motor Co this year. Lovely feel to them in leather and well made. My winter gloves are Tucano Urbano Aviators. My In-between gloves are Furygan Jet all season gloves. The Deacons look really nice.
I don't know about you, but I seem to collect gloves. I've got a bag full of gloves I've collected over the years. All still in good condition. I need to either give some away or sell them on ebay. Most are either mid weather or summer gloves. One of my favourite pair of gloves I bought for 32 AUD at the Aldi motorcycle clothing sale. Fantastic Thinsulate lined mid weather cow hide gloves. Good winter gloves for here in Australia.
Yeah I’m the same Juergen - it’s difficult to find a good all round set and hence I also have lots of sets in my cupboard virtually unused....these are some of the better ones I’ve tried though..
Great review! Many thanks! My perfect glove! I have a pair of winter gauntlets but detest them. The glove over the top of the jacket makes me feel quite trapped and hemmed in. I need a replacement for my 5ive gloves and these fit the bill!
Very Interesting review as always MrF. I’m off to the Sportsbike Shop in October for a Held Gore-Tex jacket so I’ll try these for size while I’m there. I’ve got a set of BKS hand-made leather gloves for normal riding but have been looking for a comfy waterproof pair for a while. Thanks for the heads-up and keep up the excellent work.
Always worth going with a branded glove rather than something unknown and Weise make good stuff. From a crash protection point of view, the Ride (magazine) recommended gear is well worth a look at, as they test to destruction. Sportbikeshop stock Ride recommended products too. A brilliant retailer with a huge range.
TMF I was going to buy a link to amazon you put up for a cleaning produce , The link was a Amazon UK link do you have a Amazon US link ? Asking so you will get credit for my purchase.
Nice review TMF. I bought a pair of Weise gloves last week from SBS although, not the Deacon. The summer gloves I bought appear to be of good quality and were something of a bargain, I'd recommend Weise too.
One thing I wonder about is how strong a glove's leather is if it's soft and flexible right outta the box. I wear gloves like that in the summer anyway as airflow is more important in 90+ degree weather than the possibility of falling off. That said, I haven't found any waterproof glove that provides much in the way of airflow. Once its cooler and the deer and wet leaves start hopping down the motorway, I wear leather gloves. Leather that feels like wood until it's broken in. And that can take a little while. Once broken in, they are like a second skin and last nearly forever. You could run them thru a wood chipper and they'd come out the same on the other end. Shame they just don't breath as well as perforated synthetic fabrics when it's so damn hot.
I reckon these are pretty tough - they are double skinned in the likely contact areas...hopefully I won't get to test which of us is right! Cheers for watching as ever...TMF
They look like good gloves. Have you seen the UK made Goldtop gloves? Stuart Fillingham did a review on them on his channel a few months back. They’re a bit more old school type. I got a pair to go with the Oxford jacket that you reviewed. Thank you for the vlogs
Yes really good gloves, soft leather, well made, good price. I went for the short bobber gloves in tan, they go great with the oxford jacket and Hedon open face helmet. British made is the way to go if you can
They're just what I'm after. Cant buy gloves mail order as sizing is always wrong. Everything I wear is either M or L yet gloves always need to be bigger sometimes XXL. I'll go try a pair on. Cheers.
Thanks TMF for another great review. How good is the waterproofing? Did you test them under heavy rain? I'm looking for new gloves at the moment and would like something that's good all around including in the rain, the problem is that to match all the parameters they usually get quite expensive.
Had a bit of a chuckle when you were saying that 28 degrees is a hot day down here in good old Melbourne town a hot day is about 38 degrees but then again our winters are not as cold as yours.
In Ontario, Canada, if we have 3+ days above 30, they declare a heat emergency! A couple of weeks back it was 34+ (and humid), and 54 people died. We aren't built for the heat.
I was at Phillip Island for the Island Classic last January. Getting there and back was most uncomfortable riding I've ever experienced. 35deg plus, 36 deg at the track on the Sunday and 42deg coming into Bairnsdale on the Monday.
Not to be a jackass and “one up” you on 38 degrees but it’s been 41+ here in central Texas for multiple days this summer; dang it’s hot. A 3 season glove would work well here. I did a quick search for that glove brand and it doesn’t seem to be available locally. However your review points out key features that I’ll consider for my next purchase. Thanks for the review.
Thanks for posting. I have an unrelated question. Looking to purchase the liners for my Vario paniers. Researched your channel and you have a video where you briefly talk about the BMW liners. I was wondering, are your still using them? When you do use them, do you normally leave the paniers (while bringing the packed liners in) on the bike or do you bring them into the hotel with you? Planning a trip to Minnesota in the near future and trying to decide if it is worth getting a set of liners. Thanks in advance for your response.
Yes I use the inner liner case things all the time - I leave the panniers on the bike and just carry the inners into the hotel or wherever I'm staying...
Any good for short fingers as all the ones I try on the fingers are half an inch longer than mine. If not then do a segment on ideal gloves for us short fingered sods !! lol
Hiya TMF was wondering do you get any dye coming off onto your hands when the weather is hot?? Because I've found this issue with a lot of gloves that have leather on them ....another good review by the way 😎
thanks for the review, I have an issue with the finger length differing quite a lot even in the same brand (looking at you Alpinestars), what is your view on these gloves as regards finger length as this puts me off mail ordering a pair for summer riding.
Can I ask why you prefer your gloves to go under your jacket? I would have thought that (without hand guards) you would get wind, insects and rain blown into the sleeves, also, you then have to fiddle with the sleeve Zip or fastener with your gloved hand. I wear mine over the cuff, but that has come from habit, perhaps I should give it a try, at least I suppose in this weather, it would give a bit more ventilation. Gordon
Well I do sometimes go outside depending on the glove/jacket combo - in the main I just prefer the look with the gloves underneath, just personal preference really...
I was with you until you got to the scooter. I know I have to get over how I view scooters, I think I'll need a few more years for that. Recognize the prejudice but it is still there. Maybe you could do a vlog on scooters to help me out?
i'm just wondering if you are answering messages on your Facebook page? It's all cool either way. But if you're not I'll stop trying to message you there.
I could have sworn you just said "on the bike with the wife's gloves.." lol, had an image of you riding in Marigolds, or crushed velvet with faux fur cuffs lol
Weise's sizing is terrible, I dont have huge hands but the large size of these gloves were a little too small and the XL's were virtually the same size as the L's.
The lining of most gloves is always a problem for me with most of them. I always get sweaty hands while riding and you can't get them off with the lining staying in place. Rukka summer gloves and Probiker wintergloves work best for me.
Ah I watch every single video religiously and sorry but this one made me cringe. 1st time I've felt like I was just watching a paid advert. Sorry but that's how it came across and I'm sure you can take good and bad criticism.

"Shorty" gloves are the go in hot weather. Allows air to circulate up your jacket sleeves. Love my Segura Gooze gloves.

I bought a pair of Weise Streetfighter gloves off Amazon and have been very pleased with them. Seems good quality kit.
I agree, I’m very pleased with mine thus far....

I have a weise one piece wet suit. Brilliant bit of kit, keeps you super dry.
Great review going to try a pair as my current rst gloves make my fingers numb
...well all I can say is I like 'em! Hope you get on OK with them too (and don't forget to use my link!).. Cheers for watching - TMF
Enjoyed the great review, thanks Tmf ✌️
Thanks for watching James!
Quality brand & quality review 👍🏻

Hey TMF thanks for the review. Do you have any update on the Bike gear/kit for beginners series?
Keep up the great vids!
No not yet - probably something I will do in the colder weather...
Great review! Many thanks! My perfect glove! I have a pair of winter gauntlets but detest them. The glove over the top of the jacket makes me feel quite trapped and hemmed in. I need a replacement for my 5ive gloves and these fit the bill!
Yes I know what you mean - for some reason I feel better with shorter gloves tucked into my jacket - took me ages to find a pair I can live with....

Thanks for another informative video review
You're welcome!
Awesome video and review :) keep up the stellar work!.
Thank you for watching and will do!
Good review. Might take a look at these. Just purchased some screen protectors with your discount. Thanks for that
You're welcome!
It wasn't Steve McQueen that did the Great Escape Jump...it was The Missenden Flyer
Are they waterproof, I never seem to be able to find real waterproof gloves?
Another great review,
The Missenden Flyer monogrammed T-shirts, Chino Pants, socks and Underwear are all available at his site, by the way.
Well the t shirts are.....
Well, then, I’ll just wait for the TMF branded gloves. A key chain thingy would be nice, too.
Seen many riders in the hot weather in just helmet shorts t shirt always best to wear the correct gear great review
100% agree
As far as protection goes gloves are only second to the helmet. When you fall off the hands are always the first thing to hit the road.
Indeed...thanks for watching as ever....TMF

hi TMF wot size gloves r u for these gloves
They're just what I'm after. Cant buy gloves mail order as sizing is always wrong. Everything I wear is either M or L yet gloves always need to be bigger sometimes XXL. I'll go try a pair on. Cheers.
Those look nice, although I've yet to find gloves that are genuinely waterproof, I think water resistant would be more honest.
Thanks TMF for another great review.
How good is the waterproofing? Did you test them under heavy rain?
I'm looking for new gloves at the moment and would like something that's good all around including in the rain, the problem is that to match all the parameters they usually get quite expensive.
Yes - so far so dry, seem good to me in the rain....
Had a bit of a chuckle when you were saying that 28 degrees is a hot day down here in good old Melbourne town a hot day is about 38 degrees but then again our winters are not as cold as yours.

Great, thanks for the quick answer.
What do the gloves feel like when beating a van driver to a pulp at the lights?
Now you’re being silly!
I’m rocking some lightweight mountain bike gloves in this melt weather
Hmmmm....
get some mesh gloves..
Aha yeah pretty much minimal to no protection whatsoever but very comfy.
Any good for short fingers as all the ones I try on the fingers are half an inch longer than mine. If not then do a segment on ideal gloves for us short fingered sods !! lol
I have quite long fingers so might be a challenge that one....
Did you like these gloves?
I have the Weise Vagos leather summer gloves for riding in summer which are so comfortable and quite a bit cheaper.
Yes I love em - my current “go to” gloves...
WEISE STREETFIGHT here, better protection and cooler.
Hiya TMF was wondering do you get any dye coming off onto your hands when the weather is hot?? Because I've found this issue with a lot of gloves that have leather on them ....another good review by the way 😎
Nope - not all....
Will look into these then thanks a lot and keep up the great work...over the years ive really enjoyed your reviews & vlogs cheers TMF
Has your opinion changed since you posted this? I'm looking for some summer gloves, TIA, ride safe.
No not at all - still using them on a regular basis - great glove!
@@TheMissendenFlyer thanks.
thanks for the review, I have an issue with the finger length differing quite a lot even in the same brand (looking at you Alpinestars), what is your view on these gloves as regards finger length as this puts me off mail ordering a pair for summer riding.
They fit me fine is all I can say - not too short, not too long!
PS Not promoting them in anyway but if you go via Sportsbike shop (link below) then they have an excellent free returns policy if they don't fit...

TheMissendenFlyer Fair enough, I'll give it a go. 👍
Hi. Could you tell me what helmet you use for ADV?
Arai Tour X4 - check out my review!
TheMissendenFlyer Thank you sir.
VICE or WISE ? Its a British brand (Bristol) not German - so which is correct?
Steve Lesson Thought the same myself - as it's a German name it should be pronounced vice-a. Like Porsche-a
Err!
Good question!
Are they waterproof? How do they cope in a downpour?
Yes and well so far - really nice glove, has taken me a while to find......
touch screen compatible ?
I should have mentioned that - actually they're not, which is a bit of an omission.....
I was with you until you got to the scooter. I know I have to get over how I view scooters, I think I'll need a few more years for that. Recognize the prejudice but it is still there. Maybe you could do a vlog on scooters to help me out?
He's done lots of stuff on scooters
Martin Frost - Thanks I will check into it.
I love my Held air N dry gloves.. Even womens gloves are too long in the fingers but the held gloves let you chose glove size and finger length
i'm just wondering if you are answering messages on your Facebook page? It's all cool either way. But if you're not I'll stop trying to message you there.
Craig Boyle Think he may be busy away doing a Norway tour
Just what I’m after :)
I could have sworn you just said "on the bike with the wife's gloves.." lol, had an image of you riding in Marigolds, or crushed velvet with faux fur cuffs lol

Yes it's an issue I've had too - no problem with these puppies though (as they've thought of that and somehow bonded the inner to the outer)....
TheMissendenFlyer I can't find them here in the shops.
Good ad Weiss hehe
Not intended to be an ad - just been struggling to find some decent gloves to replace my spidi ones and these seem like they may be it....
Not for 75£££
Ah I watch every single video religiously and sorry but this one made me cringe. 1st time I've felt like I was just watching a paid advert. Sorry but that's how it came across and I'm sure you can take good and bad criticism.
Fair enough - if only it was a paid advert!
TheMissendenFlyer if it wasn't a paid ad then I take it all back sir.
‘Super hot day @ 28C’ Are you even serious? I so want to swear so hard at how soft that is.
Go ahead!
