No. Or at least not now. I looking at unlimited plan it says hotspot data caps 5gb before it slows down...... Not sure on the other plans. Read the fine prints...
Whats your nat type , mobile hot spot is with cricket on a att hotspot device lol my ps4 is a bit dusty but it seems to work fine , i play mostly cod on my 100 gb data plan but was curious if setting and data plan made a difference
Thanks! If I had to estimate I would say a match of fortnite is anywhere from 5MB-20 depending on length, and my speeds we're always typical 4g around 15Mbps, although I believe they offer 5G if your phone supports it which would be faster.
@@ChrisActivity I tried it yesterday with overwatch on mint mobile and I was able to play a match with no issues, I was blown away. So I took it a bit further and started testing how much data I could use streaming with a data limiter and the results were mind blowing. I also saw that your laptop takes a lot of juice. I am using a beelink ser5 pro 5800h and I game with no issues overwatch, apex, Fortnite and a few other titles. Uses from 35-52 watts depending on performance settings and I paired that with a Roku tv only for its power saving features and that uses from 13-21 watts gaming.
@@emperorkalel That's really cool that you tested out those power draw numbers! My laptop actually has the Ryzen 4800h cpu, which is the previous version of your cpu, but I draw alot more power since mine has an Nvidia gpu as well. Thats a pretty neat mini PC that you have though, I had never heard of those before, and solid specs for what it is. For the Mint mobile I totally agree, even when I'm at a house with internet sometimes I have a better ping if I use my hotspot vs the home internet.
@@ChrisActivity I was blown away with the results and how you can be off grid and still be fully connected and integrated with no issues. I want to see how low I can go as far as power consumption - gaming, streaming, lighting, cooking ect. Keep those videos coming, very informative...
I did try tethering it straight from the phone to laptop via usb and it didn't seem to make much of a difference with speeds or ping for me, perhaps because I have a wifi 6 card in my laptop which supports speeds far beyond what I was getting from my 4g reception.
Basically your 4G/5G data allotment is able to be hotspotted without an additional fee. Except for the unlimited plan, that one they cap the amount you can hotspot.
it really depends, just gaming itself uses VERY little data, if you watch the the data upload/download in the middle top left You'll see its only kilobites/ per second worth of data being transferred. It's the downloading / updating of games and video streaming that really eats up most peoples data. With Mint mobile they will throttle you after you use up your allotment of 4G data, In my case 10GB, and in my experience the throttled data is pretty much useless for almost all tasks that require internet, especially gaming.
So I was curious about this and on their website they have a tool that tells you if your device needs a physical sim or if it can use an esim. I found the Netgear Nighthawk M2 mobile Hotspot on their list and it said it requires a physical Sim and eligibility for free shipping.
Its a setting within the phone menu, on android generally you just pull down the top menu and select mobile hotspot, or settings-connections-mobile hotspot and tethering.
Xfinity tried disliking this video, but there servers lagged out.
HAHAHA OH SNAP!
If I had the 10gb plan, can I use all 10gb as hotspot or is there a limit? Very informative video by the way, thank you!
You can use the entire 10gb as hotspot.
@@ChrisActivity Thank you!

That's a good question, I never ran into any issues so I'm assuming its open or moderate.
@@ChrisActivity if you go to test connection in PS4 it'll tell you

Great video! How much data used during that game play? What data speeds do you get on mint mobile?

I wonder how this compares to a hotspot from a phone.
Also wouldn't you have a faster connection if you directly connected the computer to the device
I did try tethering it straight from the phone to laptop via usb and it didn't seem to make much of a difference with speeds or ping for me, perhaps because I have a wifi 6 card in my laptop which supports speeds far beyond what I was getting from my 4g reception.
When it says free hotspot do they mean like free of charge or is there’s no limit?
Basically your 4G/5G data allotment is able to be hotspotted without an additional fee. Except for the unlimited plan, that one they cap the amount you can hotspot.
How many days can you game like this before it starts to throttle or do you get throttle at a certain point

I game off hotspot i check my usage. Around 5gb month
Would I be able to use mint mobile hotspot on a portable hotspot device
Very unlikely, I think its only meant for phones.

Is anyone here that i can talk to please
