Wow!!!! More Goalie Mojo, you seem to have Goalie Luck on your side which as a goalie collector and Congrats on the Slafkovsky Patch/Auto card. Keep 'em Coming!!! #dryden
Last night I hit an igor shesterkin acetate future watch Easter egg from 19-20 there not hockey breakers I was going nuts but they had no clue what it was
Nice 2nd box. I really appreciate that you just enjoy the product. You aren't in it to show value and just hit big. You seem to enjoy the simple things like design, photography and all aspects of what can come in a box. I find it disheartening when people are completely upset because they did not hit big or specifically what they wanted. It's a box of randomness, enjoy the product. I appreciate your positivity. #Dryden
What on earth? He's looked great. He's 6'3" and just 19. Large framed players take about 400 GP to develop. True of Tage Thompson, true of Mark Stone, True of Quinn Byfield, true of almost everyone. In fact, Byfield is 21 and has only played about 100 games. So, he needs three or four more seasons. Mark Stone was 23 when he really got going. Slaf's underlying metrics are very good. But it's surprising he's already in the NHL, and a testament to his hockey IQ. But, they are babying his ice-time. My best guess is he needs about three more years before he breaks out, much like Tage. In fact, his game is more modeled after Rantanen. Rant was around 21 or 22 when got going. But he was very well surrounded.
Really like the Biro, always like this set I've seen one knock on it is that it seems there are a lot of retro FWAs being pulled instead of just regular FWAs....plus I can't imagine how much 23/23 spa will be #dryden
Interestingly, both GP Sports Cards and I disagree with that criticism. Instead of providing insert auto-RCs, should card companies not keep up with increased demand post McD, post-Covid, and pre-Bedard? That would translate to lower box availability at way higher price points, i.e. $500/box. Alternatively, they would have to insert true FWA RCs every few boxes anyway. So that would mean boxes like SP Signature Edition Legends, with FWA as case hits. Or, finally, they would have to increase the number of true FWA RCs from #/999 to, say, #/3,999. They could leave the top picks as #/999, but that would make the product more like UD Ice. The entire world collects lettered insert RCs at a lower cost than true RCs. Lower valued RCs help democratize the hobby, so even ppl with shallow pockets - and kids! - can enjoy flagship products. Why shouldn't SPA be the same? It's just basic supply/demand. More collectors means more cards, just as it did in the 1990s post-Mario and pre-Lindros. We can't only be on board when it's a seller's market. Buyer's markets are just as good, because they mean cheap cards to buy on eBay, after the foreseen market correction post irrational hyperinflation, as outside money floods in and then out. Who is then left?? ...Guys like me who never leave the hobby.
@Fultoncards I meant 23/24, also I'm not sure how I feel about all the retro fwas I've only seen one pulled so far I would personally be interested in....its just a common theme I've heard from people opening it
I've always enjoyed retros. There is nothing inherently wrong with them. UD Series, OPC, SPx, UD Ice, etc. all have retros. They have always been popular. The 2002-03 FW is pretty iconic. Retros are a nod to the rich history of our evolving hobby. Ppl talk them down then wonder why they don't hold their popularity/value. Some may even do it to hike the value of #/999 true RCs. Whatever the case, if ppl prefer $500 box prices and FWAs printed to #3,999... that's fine. But, we can't have it both ways.
Question, how are the autos and other special cards inserted into the packs. Always wondered how is was done. Purchased Kaiden Guhle hockey jersey, the light blue retro. #DRYDEN
Man you are on an absolute streak lately. I have used sports card analysis for some time now. Enjoy that math! But didn't help me haha. By the way, hopefully Zeeree doesn't watch your videos. Might put him over the edge 😜. Great box! And I agree goalie collecting is extra fun as it's so hard to predict. #dryden
Hey, nice 'Slafko Something" rookie auto patch. Who's this guy actually? (just kidding). On another unrelated note, I think I've been dumb enough all that time and just figured out that you're a big Motown aficionado. Regardless, like I said before, great musical taste.
Jealous of that Kathryn but congrats on the Guhle and that massive group break hit #dryden
Nice Slafkovsky, low print run too 👀
Another great one
Nice Box. Unusual to hit 2 base FWA in a box. That’s a win right there.
Have there been any updates on Carey Price? Haven't seen anything and am wondering if he has concluded his NHL career.
He's confirmed he will never play again, and he's 36. So absent some miracle of nature or medical science, he's de facto retired.
Thanks for the info@@Fultoncards. That's too bad, hope he is healthy in his retirement.
