Cynthia Erivo is incredible! Not just vocally but also her acting! I haven't seen Wicked the musical, but I have seen the film and loved it! After seeing the film I started the book but I knew that it was different to the musical. The most prominent "film is better than the book" that comes to mind for me is the film of The Notebook is way better than the book by Nicholas Sparks! The film had a better timeline flow, and developed a much better emotional connection to the characters.
Great pick! I loved The Notebook movie but never read the book. I never got into Nicholas Sparks books so I can definitely believe that the movie is superior. And I loved the chemistry between the actors. If I’m remembering correctly they were romantically involved in real life so that helped.
19:59 King's book is actually named Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption, and yet a lot of people call it Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption.
For me, Forrest Gump and The Joy Luck Club movies were better than the books. It’s been so long since I’ve read the books, it may be time for a re-read to see if I still feel the same.
I haven’t read or watched The Joy Luck Club yet but I eventually will. Forrest Gump is one of my favorite movies and I’m afraid the book would disappoint me. Glad to hear you liked the movie better.
Agree with you on Fight Club and the two King stories. They were both part of Different Seasons, along with Apt Pupil. I'd say Jaws is a better movie, as well as Die Hard (Nothing Lasts Forever) and World War Z.
Stardust! I forgot about that one. I loved what they did with the costumes and the settings. And I totally forgot Slumdog Millionaire was based on a book.

@ I never read anything more from Nicholas Sparks after that! 😅
🤣😂🤣

Thanks for keeping me honest. You are correct. Sorry about that.
1Love you young lady, and your right on the money. I also enjoy your joy❤
Thank you so much 😊

Apt Pupil!!!!! Love that story, too! I forgot that was in there. Wow, Different Seasons is quite the book.
The one that immediately comes to mind for me is The Martian by Andy Weir. I found the book too scientific and the movie was more relatable.
Good to know! I really enjoyed that movie but haven’t read the book. I have a copy and plan on getting to it eventually though.
station eleven tv show?? I haven't read the book, but the tv show is fantastic, and I've heard it's better than the book
I preferred The Commitments movie to the book.
That’s a movie and book I have been meaning to get to for years. Thanks for the reminder to add it to my list again.
Movies that were better than the books: Stardust, and Slumdog Millionaire
Breakfast at Tiffany's, for me.
And Brokeback Mountain.
Stardust! I forgot about that one. I loved what they did with the costumes and the settings. And I totally forgot Slumdog Millionaire was based on a book.
I haven’t read either of these but agree that both movies are fantastic. Brokeback Mountain gets me crying every single time!!! The ending kills me! 😢
