Well here's some sad/funny for this new day. I was trying to figure out how an online game worked the other day (this is why everything needs a tutorial) and accidentally reported another player.
I don't shirtless dudes on the internet just drive me up the wall. Maybe I'm biased just because I like looking at boobs, but women profiting off their bodies is one thing. They have to live in the patriarchy, they may as well profit off it if they can. But men, dude you can do better. in brazil a youtuber started doing those npc livestreams as a "joke", he ended up getting 6.000 dollars in only 7 days the trend became even more popular, so many lives started popping up that tik tok actualy began restricting those types of stream! (they were labeled as repetitive content) in the end he donated all the money to charity and did a video criticizing npc lives, truly a legend
every time someone talks about these weird stuff that goes on TikTok I actually am not able to understand why people use the app. I swear, my brain can't react good to any of that. I usually like good quality content and if I want to consume crap things I just eat what I shouldn't.

There’s been a LOT of “children working in factories in China” TikTok. Realizing this was how children factory workers make extra money (or worse a boss exploiting the children for money online) while doing their factory job was a whole level of TikTok live I didn’t even want to know existed.
Well ppl in China seem to just stream their work. I stumbled across some working Chinese ppl too (not in factories tho and no children) maybe there's a way to report that?
I deactivated my TikTok account ages ago, but even though those “rating your profile pic” type lives are generally really toxic, there was one that made me laugh & was weirdly wholesome. This dude would rate everyone 10/10 and call them a “saucy minx”.

If you donate the right gif it triggers something that will feed the cow a treat. I would straight up go broke feeding the cow if I was on twitch.

Gyatt isn't an acronym or adjective. Its primary use was usually with elderly black men saying "GYATT DAMN," when they see fine women. Its a play on GOD DAMN and more of a reaction phrase that's been used for decades before the Tik-Tok jungle began to convert it. Loved the video and editing! You're awesome!
The point of diamonds is to add another layer of obfuscation. Harder to figure out how much they take, if it's converted from money to poopies to dookies to turds to money. Especially if they never tell you how many dookies you're actually given.
I've seen this on Facebook as well. It's a way for people to make huge amounts of money for basically doing things that make them a total fool in front of the camera. TikTok Live is guaranteed to only you feel more and more miserable as time goes on.

There’s some legit dark stuff on there, I once came across a Thai dude who had a monkey dressed up in clothes that literally had a huge metal collar and a chain attached. Reporting seems to do absolutely nothing. There’s also a whole genre of “Groups of uncomfortable looking Asian girls will dance for specific gifts” that honestly seems like human trafficking for beginners, they all seem to be in the same building despite there being 10’s of separate channels.

I never knew tiktok got this bad. Last I knew it was just a short video platform with poor monetization avenues. Now it seems like a weird mobile game hell. I just can't understand the mass appeal of this. So many of these things just seem weird and fetishy but they didn't seem actually sexual to me at all. We live in a society.
“Fetishy” is actually a great way to describe what I would consider some of the most concerning aspects of TikTok. It does intentionally push and emphasize content with sexualized undertones, without being blatantly sexual, particularly with younger users.
And yet no matter how vile the content is, you're only going to get "No violations Found" when you report. Tiktok's moderation is a joke, and THATS why so many shady people use it.

It's been months now, I think internet time moves fast, and somehow Gabi is the first person to help me undestand how the people being weird are acting like NPCs. I didn't realize that it was based on how NPCs can have different responses to certain gifts. I thought they were just doing different characters. The actual responses are still weird though and remind me more of low quality mobile games for kids than proper video game characters.

I couldn't figure out how to block the channels so I just deleted the app. I just stick to instagram which seems to know I want vids of cute dogs and cats.
The thing I find odd about the "livestream where viewers have currency that they give to engage" has already been a thing in adult live cams. It's weird to see there's a pg 13 version of this. the monetization system on tiktok seems suspiciously close to Japan's pachinko parlors. In Japan, Gambling is illegal nationally but to skirt around that law, your "winnings", which is represented by a bunch of silver balls, are weighted and counted which is then exchanged for prices. then you go to another facility (usually across the street) and exchange/sell those prices for actual money. Tiktok being a Chinese owned company might have used the same idea that Japanese use for Pachinko parlours.
Oh and not to mention, one of the most sickening things I’ve seen people do on TikTok is screen recording other lives, primarily rating pfp ones, playing it over THEIR live and basically scamming so many people into sending them gifts. IT’S. PA-. THETIC! 🤦🏻

In my country, Brazil, a youtuber called Felca started doing npc lives ironically and showed how easy it was to make money. This started a wave of people doing NPC lives for extra cash and resulted in Tiktok limiting these lives 😂. Felca made 4k in a week and donated to 5 charities.

As a millennial, I have to say that watching you 'feel old' is a cathartic experience I never wanted to relive, let alone through another younger person. I've seen this on Facebook as well. It's a way for people to make huge amounts of money for basically doing things that make them a total fool in front of the camera. TikTok Live is guaranteed to only you feel more and more miserable as time goes on.

There’s also a whole genre of “Groups of uncomfortable looking Asian girls will dance for specific gifts” that honestly seems like human trafficking for beginners, they all seem to be in the same building despite there being 10’s of separate channels.

It's been months now, I think internet time moves fast, and somehow Gabi is the first person to help me undestand how the people being weird are acting like NPCs. I didn't realize that it was based on how NPCs can have different responses to certain gifts. I thought they were just doing different characters. The actual responses are still weird though and remind me more of low quality mobile games for kids than proper video game characters.

the monetization system on tiktok seems suspiciously close to Japan's pachinko parlors. In Japan, Gambling is illegal nationally but to skirt around that law, your "winnings", which is represented by a bunch of silver balls, are weighted and counted which is then exchanged for prices. then you go to another facility (usually across the street) and exchange/sell those prices for actual money. Tiktok being a Chinese owned company might have used the same idea that Japanese use for Pachinko parlours.
