such a lovely vibe! Interesting to see how such a cheap lense can produce such captivating photos if the right person is behind the camera, great video!
there’s also the pro of not having to get the photos developed and still getting “film” photos, which is neat if you just like that look, and also there’s much less of a limit to how many you can take so you’re more likely to end up with some pretty good quality photos still

one of my favourite little "secrets" of Brighton is quadrophenia alley, from Quadrophenia, the film about the mod scene. There's a mural for my Mum's friend Mike Dobie as he sadly passed a few years ago. Makes me proud to see a mod revival musician who knew the family immortalised in such a beautiful town.

i can imagine you were freezing though eughh, brighton in the winter is painfully cold
this is such a cool experiment! if you’re looking to capture that disposable camera vibe with film but don’t want to have to throw away the camera after each use, there’s a company called lomography that make reusable “disposable” cameras! they’re still very simple, cheap plastic type thing (no zoom or anything) but they have a working back hinge so you can get the film in/out without destroying it. I have one and it’s pretty fun to do this type of thing with, capturing memories n all :]

this was really fun ! it reminded me of the time when I took that kind of camera during school trips and such. point and shoot lense, it surely sounded like a fun dyi. I'll definitely check it out❤️❤️
For anyone interested in trying, here are three superior alternatives:
A) Instead of buying a new disposable camera only to avoid using it, visit any nearby film lab and request used disposable cameras. They will often provide them for free.
B) Purchase a disposable camera, cover the lens with black tape, and take all the photos. This action will wind the film back onto the spool. Then, open the camera and either use the film in your analog camera or give it to someone who will.
C) Buy a disposable camera, carry it with you for a week, take the photos yourself, open the camera, and develop the film.
I am off to Southbourne for a weekend away and this video inspired me to buy a disposable camera as I've never used one before I always love how your videos inspire me to try something I've never done before!

this was so fun! i don’t have the tools to do this right now but i love the look of these pictures. been getting back into film photography and there is something really nice about the imperfections of film photography that i think you also captured using this lense

I'm taking my first ever film class this semester and this was really fun to see! I remembered watching your video on lenses way before I even knew the basics of photography let alone filming, I just rewatched it and it was great to look back on with the new knowledge under my belt! I really want to get into making short films but as a broke college student I think I'll stick with my phone camera for now 😅

I'm pretty sure that the film winds into the cartridge, you could have shot the roll first and then destroyed the camera for the lens, or alternatively shoot it with the lens covered and you would have had a free roll of film and a lens.
something quite admirable of pj is how he sees something he likes and does it, if it was me this idea would been stored in my mind and then forgetten with time hahaha

No way!! I am experimenting on this as well right this moment. I got a fuji disposable though, the lens housing is quite different so I'm still figuring out how to properly put it in place.
brighton is beautiful!
Kinda reminds me of the helga lense you could buy that was also basically plastic…I used it a couple of times on my DSLR but it was very hard to use in dark situations, much like this lense. But the effects were really cool.

My first attempt at making one of these was a failure. The lens in the FunSaver was different. So disappointing but I've ordered another to have a go again. You should make the focusable version but you'll need access to a 3d printer.
If you have a DSLR it wont work.
What sort of post processing are you doing on these shots? I’ve just made the same thing for my own camera and it isn’t coming out quite as ‘disposable’ looking as I hoped
