“So naturally I’m not gonna watch it and just figure out how to do it for myself” I’ve just started to crochet right now and that is such a mood, I’m just like “I don’t need a pattern for this it’s fine”
such a lovely vibe! Interesting to see how such a cheap lense can produce such captivating photos if the right person is behind the camera, great video!
there’s also the pro of not having to get the photos developed and still getting “film” photos, which is neat if you just like that look, and also there’s much less of a limit to how many you can take so you’re more likely to end up with some pretty good quality photos still
it is a chilly day today and i watched this on my break from work, having a cup of tea and eating cereal, and it felt so so nice. loved this style, loved seeing a bit of brighton and loved the creativity. this is quintessential youtube for me. thanks for always bringing such good and comfortable content, pj!!! 💘
one of my favourite little "secrets" of Brighton is quadrophenia alley, from Quadrophenia, the film about the mod scene. There's a mural for my Mum's friend Mike Dobie as he sadly passed a few years ago. Makes me proud to see a mod revival musician who knew the family immortalised in such a beautiful town.
i feel so incredibly lucky to have basically grown up watching pjs content change and mature over the years, it's been an extremely wonderful 8 years of videos that genuinely make me appreciate a single persons mind
im an avid brighton goer, and im fairly certain the qr code at 5:23 linked to a presave screen last time i checked ! :> very cool. brighton is such a beautiful place to photograph i can imagine you were freezing though eughh, brighton in the winter is painfully cold
5:24 i took the leap and scanned the code and it took me to a song called paris hilton by an artist named sonnyjim, the purist it's actually a cool track!
this is such a cool experiment! if you’re looking to capture that disposable camera vibe with film but don’t want to have to throw away the camera after each use, there’s a company called lomography that make reusable “disposable” cameras! they’re still very simple, cheap plastic type thing (no zoom or anything) but they have a working back hinge so you can get the film in/out without destroying it. I have one and it’s pretty fun to do this type of thing with, capturing memories n all :]
Can I just say PJ, I love your videos and what you've been putting out recently. They're so well put together and I always feel much more at ease after. You're always trying something new and creative. As someone who's been trying to push myself to try things I feel like doing more often, these have been a big help. Thank you.
photography has always seemed intimidating because of all the talk about lenses and aperature and iso and all that mumbo jumbo, but the way you speak about this experience made a lot of sense to me and my little brain! thank you for taking us around brighton!
Great timing, I was just talking about doing this the other day. Thanks for sharing all your fun, crafty, experimental projects! "kind of wanted the results to be a little bit bad so it didn't feel like a complete waste of time" It think I totally get that too!
I am off to Southbourne for a weekend away and this video inspired me to buy a disposable camera as I've never used one before I always love how your videos inspire me to try something I've never done before! thanks for broadening my horizons!!
I have an analogue point&shoot and I absolutely love it!! There’s something special about only having 36 photos on a roll and having to wait to see how they turned out
something quite admirable of pj is how he sees something he likes and does it, if it was me this idea would been stored in my mind and then forgetten with time hahaha
this was so fun! i don’t have the tools to do this right now but i love the look of these pictures. been getting back into film photography and there is something really nice about the imperfections of film photography that i think you also captured using this lense
I'm taking my first ever film class this semester and this was really fun to see! I remembered watching your video on lenses way before I even knew the basics of photography let alone filming, I just rewatched it and it was great to look back on with the new knowledge under my belt! I really want to get into making short films but as a broke college student I think I'll stick with my phone camera for now 😅
this was really fun ! it reminded me of the time when I took that kind of camera during school trips and such. point and shoot lense, it surely sounded like a fun dyi. I'll definitely check it out❤️❤️
No way!! I am experimenting on this as well right this moment. I got a fuji disposable though, the lens housing is quite different so I'm still figuring out how to properly put it in place.
Kinda reminds me of the helga lense you could buy that was also basically plastic…I used it a couple of times on my DSLR but it was very hard to use in dark situations, much like this lense. But the effects were really cool.
I'm pretty sure that the film winds into the cartridge, you could have shot the roll first and then destroyed the camera for the lens, or alternatively shoot it with the lens covered and you would have had a free roll of film and a lens.
What sort of post processing are you doing on these shots? I’ve just made the same thing for my own camera and it isn’t coming out quite as ‘disposable’ looking as I hoped
For anyone interested in trying, here are three superior alternatives: A) Instead of buying a new disposable camera only to avoid using it, visit any nearby film lab and request used disposable cameras. They will often provide them for free. B) Purchase a disposable camera, cover the lens with black tape, and take all the photos. This action will wind the film back onto the spool. Then, open the camera and either use the film in your analog camera or give it to someone who will. C) Buy a disposable camera, carry it with you for a week, take the photos yourself, open the camera, and develop the film.
My first attempt at making one of these was a failure. The lens in the FunSaver was different. So disappointing but I've ordered another to have a go again. You should make the focusable version but you'll need access to a 3d printer.
PJ the 6th birthday clown is absolutely harrowing and explains everything
Young Wiggles The Clown😆
there’s something so endearing about the unpolished look of disposable cameras. also i’m always amazed by you and sophie’s eye for photography
Really love photography specially when it has that home film feel to it
It took me a bit to realize you & Sophie were wearing matching red puffer jackets, which is super adorable 😊
!!!! this is extremely cool!!!! and makes me want to get the three disposable cameras i've had for the last decade or so finally developed
also FRANCIS

The QR code takes you to a linktree of an album called White Girl Wasted by Sonnyjim and The Purist
is it a good album
Great timing, I was just talking about doing this the other day. Thanks for sharing all your fun, crafty, experimental projects!

I used to love photography and have been missing it, so might try this myself thank u pj !!!!
so what this video taught me is that i need to visit brighton bc those spots look super nice!
Legit thanks for making this video. It's sent me down a rabbit hole that has reignited my interest in photography.
I have an analogue point&shoot and I absolutely love it!! There’s something special about only having 36 photos on a roll and having to wait to see how they turned out

Ok I need to do it asap !! You photographs are GREAT :) Loved them
i’m mainly a film photographer but this seems like such a good way to get close to the feel without the cost! thanks for sharing, good shots pj :P
this was so fun! i don’t have the tools to do this right now but i love the look of these pictures. been getting back into film photography and there is something really nice about the imperfections of film photography that i think you also captured using this lense
Bonus points for attaching a flash. You really get the disposable camera vibe by using bad on-camera flash.
commenting for the algorithm.
my first video from you, but i love the vibes. subbed for sure.

The photos are gorgeous! This was really fun.
No way!! I am experimenting on this as well right this moment. I got a fuji disposable though, the lens housing is quite different so I'm still figuring out how to properly put it in place.
I don't know why the "googling random keyboard smash" was so funny to me, but it really hit different 👌👌
Omg it works so well
such a cool video
For the whole video I couldn't stop thinking that it looks like we've finally found Waldo
Kinda reminds me of the helga lense you could buy that was also basically plastic…I used it a couple of times on my DSLR but it was very hard to use in dark situations, much like this lense. But the effects were really cool.

Wahhhhhh 😭 Beautiful shots 😍
brighton is beautiful!
Funyyyyy Like it Mate 🤩
Do you glue the kodak lens into the lens cap or just slot it in and it'll stay there?
this is sooo cool omg!!
Aha! I got him! The disguise almost threw me, but I gotcha, Waldo!!! 🎉
how'd you attach the lens to the cap?
Very fun hack and cool pics!
will it work on a dsrl?
It works on a reflex?
oh i loved this video, makes me want to pick up my camera again!
5:24 it's a link to music! didn't give it a listen yet tho
My goat
Does anyone know if this works for Lumix cameras? saw somewhere that it doesnt for Canon
What sort of post processing are you doing on these shots? I’ve just made the same thing for my own camera and it isn’t coming out quite as ‘disposable’ looking as I hoped
Does the Sony have no IBIS?

Do you use automatic mode or Program AE when taking a shot?
idk why but it was satisfying
Peeg is not afraid to get hammered!
such a good vibes video ! looked rlly fun to film too (made me go haiiiii :3 /j)
were those raw images or edited?
Pj looking like a whole neon where's Wally, who lost his white stripes
My first attempt at making one of these was a failure. The lens in the FunSaver was different. So disappointing but I've ordered another to have a go again. You should make the focusable version but you'll need access to a 3d printer.
If you have a DSLR it wont work.
6:42 you look a bit like the sun baby from teletubbies
Took a screenshot and skewed the QR code
It's an 8 song playlist called white girl wasted 😂
the chromatic aberration is the best part of it tbh
Can u put smartphone interchangeable lenses on this ...use the lens clip on the cap and show us the results
💚💚💚
PJ there’s still tons of Pokemon at the pier and everywhere else in Brighton :’)
Brighton is so pretty, I'd love to visit one day
This felt like playing pupperazzi all over again.
what camera are you using pj?
Pretty cool ayy
When PJ looked through the donut, he looked like "Where's Waldo".
5:12 thats Mf Doom y'all
Damn, these photos look awesome! Now all i need to do is buy a disposable camera, and a normal camera. xD
the qr code is a song lol, quite good tho!
I wonder how this would look on a digital camera without a shutter 🤔 I may have to find out
Ayo what's sean doing there at Sophie's birthday party?! You lucky man, getting to hang with him
Why not put 3 lenses in front of it, with focus control
Where's Waldo? Good Video. 😊
What is his camera
Sony A7S
This is so cooooooooooooooooool
you should try a 3d printed lens
QR code links to music, if anyone was curious
Loved this and it was fun getting to see Brighton! It looks like a really nice town. Your photos of all the art are so good!
The google search made me sub.
Lesson of today: Don't whip your nubbin out at a moments notice
Should have done it with fuji with their film recipe's
They're so expensive now tho :(
The QR code is someone’s music ❤
QR code looks like someone's band
