Awesome figure statue! Brilliant review.. Keep up the good work!
I have this statue as well I do like mines I feel like they should have stitched on the "S" shield instead of ironing it on paint job could have been done a little better but I think it looks nice overall.
Now that it's been pointed out to me, I can definetly see issues with the front logo. I still think it looks good sitting on the shelf, but I can see that the logo material wrinkles differently than the suit around it. I just took a look at my 1/6 scale figure of Superman and the logo looks similar. I believe the original movie used a form of silk-screening and that may not be an easy process to replicate at that size. I think Studio Prime 1 would've done a better job, but they would add a $1000 to the price tag.
I got mine today and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MINE. The fact is...there is nothing close to Chris Reeve better than this. Everything else out there doesnt even come close to this figure.
1/6 hot toys Superman Reeve is very good, but in a 1/4 scale this is the best out there right now. Lol and I love it.
Plus I saved $100 buying it off ebay. The price on the box for $599.99, and I bought mine for $500.
Bottom line you will not find anything better in a 1/4 scale. In my opinion. :0)
You've put into better words how I feel. I don't own a lot of statues. I've 3D printed most of the things in my collection that look like 1/4 scale pieces due to the price of most of them. I thought with the complaints that maybe I had missed a better version, but I personally hadn't seen one so I'm happy. I love my 1/6 figure, but the way this one is posed on the base and the expression on the face feels like an exact scene from those earlier movies. That's awesome you were able to get it for cheaper. The holidays have been good for collectors if you know where to look. I just received a $600 1/4 Bruce Lee for under $300 from the official Bruce Lee website.
Brutha Great Review, but you don't get what you Paid For...if you go by the Prototype which is what sold me on this. The Headsculpt is way off CR, The Symbol's on the Suit are very poorly done especially on the Chest...it should have been part of the Fabric as the Proto Showed not a cheap Heat Transfer...to me that was enough for me to Cancel...for the $ and the Edition Size I'm sorry but like I said I decided to Cancel...as did many...but I just want to say Congrats to you for getting him...if your Happy with your purchase that's all that matters
Cheers Jay
I can see those issues being enough to cancel. I heard the negative and saw unflattering photos after I had paid mine off. Even as I was editing this video and photos, the head sculpt looked different than it does in person. The head sculpt looks surprisingly good in person to me. You’re right about the heat transfer especially if it changed from the prototype. Well, I’m sure they’ll be updated statues coming from other companies if this one was largely rejected. Sideshow is hit or miss with their figures. Thanks for your comment and perspective.
great presentation but the statue looks out of focus most of the time.
100%. Everything was soft on the focus as I accidentally left the auto-focus on and the camera wanted to focus on the Batman behind me. I added the scenes of Superman spinning on the turntable so there would be some clear videos of the statue. Those shots were in focus. I write all this to say… Thanks for noticing and I’ll do better next time Lol.
