- Hey guys! So over the holidays I got a curly cut at Versus Salon in Virginia Beach, VA. I had a great experience overall so I wanted to share with what it would be like to have a salon experience as a TYPE 4 NATURAL. I was definitely apprehensive because my hair is my baby but Ms. Michelle was great and really listened to me which I think is most important when getting a haircut. I got a protein treatment, deep condition, steam treatment & a wash-n-go as well!

I wish I could find a salon that specializes in natural hair and curly hair. I can’t remember the last time I got my ends cut. I love how your hair turned out and wish I had the patience to do a wash-n-go like this.

i'm so happy you're confident wearing your hair out! i can see it your profile it looks super dense like mine 😍 if you can't find a natural hair care salon, i would just have it straightened at a salon you trust and get them trimmed there. that's what i've done in the past. i've also cut my own lol but i can't recommend that haha

I’m in VA and I’m surprised RVA doesn’t have a stylist that could’ve cut your hair.. so therefore you had to go to VA Beach? RVA is two hrs from me and VA Beach is 4 hrs...just thinking about that 4 hr Drive is making me tired. But I def need a trim/shape :-(
honestly i met this stylist at the natural hair show in RVA not knowing she was located in VA beach. there likely is someone in RVA who could cut your hair but i have no recommendations for you. i always do my own hair and usually have my aunt trim my ends. i'm sorry
olive chels I’ve never had a cut or shape...just a trim. My friend normally does it. She’s a stylist but not a curly stylist, so my hair is normally blown out. But I def need a shape and it’s hard to gauge how that will look curly if it’s done on blown out hair. I’m sure I will find someone eventually 😊
