    Taking the manual away from the Ecoboost is going to further damage the availability of manuals in general

      @@cjponyparts … I have to agree with CJPP. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of power shifting a high horsepower, high rpm manual transmission equipped Mustang. Unfortunately I don’t have much experience with the precision of the manual powertrains installed in newer production Mustangs. Most of my experience is with first generation Mustangs powered by FE Cobra Jet big blocks and highly modified 351 Cleveland engines. Missed shifts were a common problem with the early 4-speed transmissions so it took a lot of practice to shift without lifting off the throttle. They shifted fine under less aggressive conditions.
      I must say that I’m totally blown away by the overall performance of Fords modern 10 speed automatic transmission. In 1971 I did a lot of street racing in my ‘69 Mach 1 equipped with a 428 Cobra Jet and C6 automatic. Hammer it in first gear and traction went away immediately. On the 1-2 shift it would boil the G60-15 tires real hard followed by a solid shift into 3rd. I thought the C6 was as good as it gets.
      However, my way of thinking completely changed the first time I drove a 10 speed equipped Ecoboost Mustang in Drag Strip mode. WOW… TECHNOLOGY RULES 👍. Have you driven a Ford lately ? 🏁

    Hood struts? When I bought my new ‘18 GT, the first thing I did was put hood struts on it. I mean, give me a break. Pay north of $50,000 and you have some dinky prop rod!! What a disgrace. At last, way to go Ford!

    I’m an old enough guy to remember when manual transmissions had more gears and were faster than auto’s, man have times changed!!! Even though the auto is faster, I still chose to buy a ‘22 GT with 6 speed. Save the manuals!!!

      Right there with you. I honestly wish I could mothball my manual '17 Performance Pack with ANALOG SPEEDO AND TACH. All soon to be relics, that I love. I much rather watch analog speedometers/tachometers than a stupid TV screen. At least make them options. I think it's kinda funny that certain cars are worth more money cause they are manuals...yet the automakers think everyone is a youtube warrior, and simply wants the best 0-60 time option.
      Hell, "back in my day" the ONLY transmission available with the Performance pack was a MANUAL......AND WE LIKED IT!!!

    I’ve never driven an Ecoboost Mustang with a manual transmission so I don’t know what I’m missing. They all have the kickass 10 speed automatic but I’m sure the manual transmission model would also be a blast to drive. I do wish Ford would still offer it as an option.

      Been considering grabbing an ecoboost for my daily for some time now. Sad to hear that the standard is gone, but understandable as not everyone wants/needs a standard and the ecoboost is the money maker mustang for ford.

    • @danielwilson6665
      @danielwilson6665 Рік тому +1

      @@coreyjohnson993 … I think you would be pleased with an Ecoboost as your daily driver. They have respectable power and handling while still getting good fuel mileage. The new models also have increased power according to the test results. I’ve rented several Ecoboost Mustangs from Enterprise over the past four years and had more fun than the law allows 🤷‍♂️. They respond especially well to 93 octane pump fuel when set up for drag strip mode. The PCM knows when lousy fuel is being used and the reduction in power output is quite noticeable. A good example is when I get a rental Mustang and the power is so low it will barely spin the tires. After I burn about half a tank of fuel, I fill it up with 93 octane which is readily available in the Atlanta area. The PCM responds by adding ignition timing and increasing the turbo boost. With the traction control system tuned off, it will blaze the tires from a start with additional tire spin on the second and third gear shifts. To me the additional fuel costs is well worth the additional power available. 👌
      Ford Racing also offers an affordable performance upgrade package that gives a substantial increase in horsepower and a huge increase in torque which is especially important on the street.
      Enterprise is also an excellent source for purchasing used Mustangs. They have been well maintained and all repair and service documents are available so the buyer can know more about what they are buying.
      Check them out.

      @@danielwilson6665 Thank you for the information. That being said, I am not a fan of purchasing used cars. Don't misunderstand that as elitism or anything. I just don't trust most people/organization to take good care of their vehicles. This is especially true with turbo engines and oil changes in "harsh environments" (which ford defines as half of the US 🙂)When buying new, I can be confident that all the abuse and love has two primary sources Ford & myself. Also with interest rates and the used market doing some straight up voodoo stuff right now...

      @@coreyjohnson993 … I have to agree with your reasoning for purchasing a new car. Knowing about the cars history from day one is always a good thing to know. While some used car dealers are more reliable than others, there’s really no way of knowing the true accuracy of the documentation that’s available with most used car purchases.
