I'm gonna say you are Mr. Architect 😎. You build things with perfection and innovation.
I like what you're doing so much I actually let the commercials play.
Thanks!
What a great use of that old frame. Very innovative to say the least. Well done!
Great week of videos during coffee !!! It's great to watch such a young loving family work on life homestead goals.
It's coming together that goathouse. Looking great Al!
Good day to you Al !! The goat barn is looking great with the roofing complete !! That bird was so cute !! Boys and there toys !! 🚜🌱🌽🌷🌹
Love the how you put in those sky light its looking good..
🌻have a beautiful evening and a very happy tomorrow🌻
If birds come to you like that, then you are Cinderella in disguise! 😁❤️
Frugal! Works brother!
You and Olivia could build some Bird houses around your home with some birds around could take care of the bugs
Great job well done looking good well done be safe 👍❤️🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Good job Al. Hope the water was warm! 😎
big boy toys are always fun to watch
Great week of videos during coffee !!! It's great to watch such a young loving family work on life homestead goals.
After all the BS on the news you folks give me hope. Keep up the good work Al,Gina, and Olivia.
Roof look great, bird looks stunned. Might need a wind chime Olivia could make one with your help or decal to warn them of the window😎
You do such good work Al!!
Thanks for another awesome video! Might have been the angle but it looked like the tire on the tractor is a bit low.
Awesome progress today. Im on the homestead in the woods and working in the garden. We are expanding it so I have been in the tractor all day. Greetings from Andreas on Off Grid Sweden
We put screens on the window, 'even if they don't open' not only does it save the birds it also shades a bit and still easy to see through
I always use the longer roof screws and put them in the ridges because there is much less chance of them leaking if thy are not tight against the gasket. Also they don't block the snow from sliding off the roof as much on the ridges. I have considerable rot in the barn where previous owners put the metal roof on with the screws in the valleys instead of on the ridges.
Making quick time of the stumps for sure. Don't forget to add a door for the goats to get in the barn and an area to catch them for loading and unloading them from the trailer. You should be able to store hay and straw in there also. Looking good and the skylights are a nice addition.
I just love Pluto . You may need some decals on the outdoor kitchen windows , the birds could be attracted by there own reflections or the pastures reflection . The goats are going to live in style , looking great . Sure do learn a lot from your channel !
Thank you AL for sharing your video homestead chicken farmer garden bye 👋 bye 👋 👨👩👧👸👕👓🐩🐈🐔🐓🐥🐕🐖🐐🌱🏡🎥👍👍👍
That old Tonka truck might be worth something
awwww, he hit the window. hard enough to stun him. unlike his unfortunate friend yesterday.
You're getting serious about those goats, even building them a barn, frugally. Thanks for sharing.
They are going to be here in a few weeks
Al I just had 4 barns built by the Amish and your screw placement on your goat barn roof is correct! Later
If you put vinyl "stickers" in the middle of the plate glass it allows the birds to tell that it's not sky and they stop flying into them.
The windows need Lumnah Acres decals.
Goat barn is looking great, love that you reused items to make it and the clear skylight areas was very clever!! As always you do such a good job with that rusting beauty... can’t wait for the goats
I believe this bird is a chestnut sided warbler. It was probably stunned from flying into the window. Hope it revived.
Great to see all the upgrades on your homestead!!! The place is looking awesome....great Job!
Al, just getting around to this playlist! It's "Happy Spouse, Happy House"!
I like that one better.
@@LumnahAcres me too!
It takes two!
1:05 "...I'm not food. I'm not your breakfast." (....But, you're mine.) LOL 😅🤣😏 after a good life growing up. 🍏🐖🌾🌿
It’s looking good the goats are going to be very happy in there home
Once again. .... WOW! Looking great!
AL you need a large decal on the windows so the birds won't fly into the glass
That pile of stumps is going to make a great place for the goats to frolic! And maybe the pasture will be a great place for pigs to root, later. Few years of the combo, and it will be nice for planting...
nice close up of a chestnut sided warbler!!
Goats will have a skylight!
Good word frugality? I love what’s going on there. Wish I had some of those wood chips.
Looking good 👍
Great job on the goat barn. Don't ya just love frugality!? 😁👍
Things are changing quickly! Good News! God Bless! Stay Safe. :)
Very clever use of materials for your goat barn. I always like repurposing odds and ends.Green metal roofs are my favorite. You are motivating me to take up rough carpentry :-)
Doing an excellent job!
Good progress on the goat pen...Everything is going nicely👍🌱🐥🐐🐄
you could do some hugel culture with what's left from the trees, roots, branches, etc...
Erik Van den Broeck I was thinking the same thing :)
sorry to ask but what is a hugel culture
It would work for a chicken coop or any number of applications. I love it !!👍👍👍❤️
That bird was sat on a sill at the bottom of a fairly big plain glass window. So my guess would be it has flown into the window and is concussed. Put it in a box with some hay and hopefully in a while it will fly off by itself
Expensive. The excavator is probably $150 an hour? I wish I was there to help you out, Al! Thanks for taking me on this adventure. Olivia look shocked. Love you all. Peace and prayers.
When birds can see ligt through a window they try to fly through and hit the glass. The bird was groggy from flying in to the window I belive. If you hang up a curtain in one window you can prevent that.
Nice tip with the metal blade. Thanks Al.
I'm surprised the excavator does not have a thumb. It makes sorting the stumps from the dirt so much easier.
I had the problem of small birds flying into our large front window, I hung a mini blind & with the blind slats horizontal the birds no longer fly into the window. You might consider getting some or there may be more small bird injuries & death.
I bet that little bird also flew into your window and was just a little stunned. That happened to us last year we had a bird hit the window and land on the ground and it just needed some time to get its head back together before it flew off. We got so close the dogs were licking it. Haha
So much i liked about this vlog. The goat barn is awesome! That roof! omg!
I had to have a massive twin pine taken down for safety reasons, or my park would not have done so. While i am all about the sun and that tree left my house and gardens in the shade, it took all of a week for it to not be strange. I'm struggling with the soil but am gardening my butt off. In the Sun! lol Eating sugar snaps! I assure you i could NOT have done that last Spring.
I'm thinking that bird hit the glass too and landed on the sill with a concussion.
I have seen that happen lots of times. I had to put some stickers on the window.
Salmon Hunter yes it happened to us too and we put stickers on our big windows and now it rarley happends
Robert Rega
Salmon Hunter ...
I'm at the 7 minutes and 36 seconds point in your video, and I don't know if you're going to put one up, but I would really suggest a rain catchment system for your goat barn with an automatic watering system using food grade PVC, or plastic hosing!
Using that automatic water catchment system that's one less huge amount of work for you with the goats, and the rain that you get can also be used by the chickens that are free-ranging, if you put a small set up on the ground for them as well.
Thanks soo much for metal cutting blade advice
I found a dove on a school morning and it climbed on my dad all day
Great roof hahahaha funny bird whattt 😂😂😂
You should make a short video on falls, and stunts you do, as you work in the roof!! lol. TIMBERRRRRR. Or as you fall into the pile of compost. Or as you get tackled by the dog or a pig.
Looking good you'll be ready for field grass and
he probably hit the window and is just stunned
This build is genius 👍👍👍 I see it started with the metal car port (?) I must have missed how you how you re-enforced with the wood beams
Birdie is window shopping. ; )
Ho caba inteligente, parabéns 🇧🇷
Al having a Disney princess moment!
Birds sometimes think the reflection in the window is their friend or mate. I am not sure what kind of bird that is, but since the woods are gone more birds are going to be at your outside kitchen windows. Plant something outside the the windows or put stickers on the inside of the windows. After awhile the birds will get used to the change, and it will not happen as often. Boy are you working hard!!!😓😌😬😇😳😇😇😺😺😹😹😹🙋👯👯👯🙎🙇💁👴👩👨👧Happy Holidays!!!🍀🍀🍀🍀🏵🏵🏵🍀🍀🍀🍀🌹🌹🌹🍀🍀🍀🍀🌼🌼🌼🍀🍀🍀🍀🌻🌻🌻🍀🍀🍀🍀🌸🌸🌸🍀🍀🍀🍀🌻🌻🌻🍀🍀🍀🍀🌹🌹🌹🍀🍀🍀🍀🌺🌺

Looking Good!
Hi good morning the 🐐 goat barn's taking shape great can't wait to see the finished. Hi Gina and Olivia have a wonderful day today all day long, the 🐷 pigs are thriving beautifully, Morning Mr. Biggs Rufus and Andy. Al are you keeping Mr. Biggs, Rufus and Andy? I really do love them especially Mr. Biggs. 😍 love the green rooftop. Animals sure love you, you're a animal whisper ha ha. Another great adventure around the 🏡 homestead God bless and have a wonderful weekend together all as a beautiful family you all are 👋 bye. ☁🐔🏡🐔🐓🐕🐤🐔🐣🐐🐐🐖🐖🌱🌱🌲🌲🔨🚺🚌.
There is a strange phenomenon happening with birds of late, it's being documented and you just improved it. The milking barn is l👀king great! I like the sky-lite, fab idea. Olivia gets to go for a dip in the lake...burrr....😊👣
It was Gina's Idea on the skylight. I cant take credit for it
Good morning AL, Gina, Olivia and all the critterzz ....... take care from Pennsyltucky ~8^)
Wow! That excavator looks like it is rototilling on steroids! ❤🌅🌵
Decal of hawk needed.
Lol
It's amazing how fast nh went from 30 to 87 this week. Nice but here come the black flys. I'm not complaining. Maine still dragging about month behind NH.
it feels like we went from winter to summer! Lol I hope it warms up in ME for you soon
Soap the windows so the birds can see them.
Good video.
Al, are you worried at all about all the holes through the car port weakening the structure of the goat barn? The field looks great, btw.
barn looking good & i also like that kind of cost. to bad LETS DIG 18 is so far away from you he & his team do a lot of stumping in last month of videos they were clearing 30 acres of them.
I'd say he is 1 of the best in the world @ running a excavator, he has won events @ shows on like picking up a plastic cup & pouring water into it
thanks for sharing & good luck
You might want to put a piece of tape across that window if birds are continually running into the glass.
I don't know if you covered it, but I'm curious about the economics of that clear-cut. Did the loggers make enough money from the lumber to reimburse you for the cost?
once the loggers get back all the info from the mills we will find out the economics of the clear-cut and the stumping and share it in a video
Is Rufus a Icelandic? He is one cool rooster. LOL.
Maybe those birds were displaced when the woods got cut down?
Mr Figaro still summoning in small birds. You might get some owl decals and put on the windows to warn the small birds away.
Goat barn looking good, but I'd have put the skylights right across from each other, I think that would even out the lighting inside. Or OCD/virgo.
The roof is stronger if you offset them. When I put up my metal building there was a minimum spacing regardless of which side they were on.
Just waiting for that ladder to go flying.
RockTech I was thinking the same thing.
Maybe the birds are flying into the glass and injuring themselves. Roof looks great.
You've named your pets after Disney pets, now you're friends with some songbirds. Next they'll be helping you get dressed in the morning, and you'll have mice sewing your clothes.
Lol I could use a tailor!
Did you put the metal blade on the circular saw backwards as well, for the plastic roof piece?
no
Barn is turning out Awesome. Do u plan on harvesting water from it as you do at New Yolk City?
So once the excavator is finished, then the stump remover comes? I like the little goat barn, are you going to create a perm. paddock
right around the barn then use the portable electric fencing elsewhere? How many goats are you starting out with? Very smart about
the skylight material Al! 🤙🏼🤙🏼
I cant take credit for the skylights that was Gina's idea. We are getting three goats 2 kids and one mom!
"I'm not your breakfast." But they will be yours in a few months. LOL!! You migh see if you can find a small plastic owl to hang by the window. It would keep the birds away and not block your view
It's in shock from hitting the window
Looks like the birds are hitting the window killed that one the other day this one probably is stunned from hitting the window.. You might have to see what solutions there is out there. I am sure you can hang something that will keep the birds from hitting the window
They fly into the window because the reflection of the window looks like the woods , they get stund, we find them on the ground also , at least once a week lol
Miss running escavator......
why didn't you instal foam board on the roof before the metal ?
Do u need a rooster if you have an incubator to hatch a egg
yes you need fertile eggs to put in the incubator
Hey Al! Im building same structure for storage, what gauge sheet metal did you end up using? Thanks, great idea using shelter logic frames
It is the thinner gauge that ABC steel offers.
you gonna go with some insulation on that like polystyrene? please plant the tomatoes lol im in zone 3b( in NE minnesota) and i planted tomatoes a week and a half/2 weeks ago for crying out loud
