I love how simple your setup is. Incredibly streamlined. Everything has a purpose. Minimal fluff. It’s all very well thought out. I particularly like how you stow everything prior to beach landings. Especially breaking down your rod & reel. It all made perfect sense. So many useful takeaways in this video!
Let me know when you are ready for action LOL
MooMoo Outdoors
Soon brotha, very soon!
Wow. Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach him how to kayak fishing, he will buy a kayak, a car to transport a kayak, rods, fish finder, PFD, whistle, knife, nets, wetsuit, hooks, lines, more rods and reels, rod holder, go pro, radio, and a second and third kayak., Then lures, baits, gas, sand wheel, straps, parking fee, but the most important of all is his happiness. Happy fisherman=happy life.
So you are saying I'm helping people empty their bank account? LOL
......my case exactly, i've gone a few years without needing a vehicle, but now with a kayak i do.
@@hammothw4814 lol.
The TRUTH!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Very nice. I've purchased a fishing kayak last year, but it has not seen water. LOL. I'll refer back to this video when I'm getting ready to do some kayak fishing. Thx! 👍🙏🎣⚒
Let's get out on the yaks 😉
Very cool Moo. It’s always interesting to see how others setup their yak. Keep up the good work.
Thanks
Thanks for sharing your setup Moo! Reminds me I need to get a whistle.
Hope to fish with you soon.
Great instruction about putting everything away prior to surf landing including fishing reels.
Wouldn't want to lose a hawg trough or anything LOL
Another great video with lots of good info! Thanks so much for sharing with us!! Tight Lines!! W
Thank you :)
Great work, thanks for sharing ... Have a wonderful day!
Thanks 😊
I like your setup brother, you have it all situated perfectly 🐟👊🏼
Thanks 😊
NICE! Very well described, and everything makes sense. Thanks.
Thanks 😊
Good stuff. Thanks for this since I'm looking into getting the same kayak.
You are smart to choose the Revo hehe
Wow that is quite a set up you have there, a large portion of it went over my head 😆. You’re able to fit a lot of gear on that Kayak!
You should try it some time. It's a blast.
Awesome set up man. Let’s go fishing!!
Thanks. Let's go!
I like using the paddle leash for rod holders on return trip through surf. Great idea!
I almost broke my rod when I flipped last time when my rod was sticking up and I know many people who broke their rod because of it.
very nice work man.. solid
Thanks 😊
I didn’t want any snags on my rails so I installed Scotty gear mounts, with quick release buttons, sideways, on the vertical wall inside the netted compartments. I have four mounts for a Minnie downrigger, two rod holders, and a fish finder hooked up to the Scotty mounts, with adjustable arms. There is still room in the compartment for small tools. The boat has been very successful catching Eagle Lake Trout, we are going again at the end of August. Same boat, Revo 13, with new MD 180 drive. Love it.
Revo 13 is an awesome kayak. By far, my favorite pedal kayak. I used to have 3 scotty base on my Revo 11 but wanted a little more versatility. I don't have any snag issue.
Thanks for the tips!
Thanks for watching
Thanks for sharing some tips bro
Thanks for watching
Finally got to see that fishy fishy fishy MooMoo mobile 🤣😂great video man! Hope to see u out there in the water one day👍👍
Thanks. See you on the water.
Sooo awesome. Thank you 😊
Thank you
Thank you for the insightful video Moo. My goal is to get a revo 13 next year. Don’t be surprise if my set up will be identical to yours 😀, hopefully I get to see you and tla out in the water and get a chance to fish with you guys one day.
You know how I feel about the Revo 13 hehe. See you on the water.
Nice set up , that park look like hagan park🤣😎🎣
Not it. Pretty close though LOL
Looks a little cramped... Gonna stick w/ my Outback ;-) Thanks for posting Moo!
Oh gawd! Your unpersuasive love for your outback LOL. It's like how I have dedicated love for my Revo.
Awesome fishing interesting
I'm leaning towards a Revo and I'm liking how you got it rigged out for and according to needs of the trip!
My favorite pedal drive kayak for the Ocean.
So organized man wish I had a Hobie now lol
Do it 😂🤣
Man you're the best.
Thanks
Sweet if I was ever on a deserted island I want a MOMO with me, definitely gonna make the pvc rod holder for my passport 12 2020,thankyou sir
Thanks 😁. Some times ghetto'ing the kayak is the best way 😂🤣.
I am dying for tomorrow to come so I can go kayak fishing.
Kayak fishing is an addiction 😁😁
Wow. That’s a lot of gear and mounts on that kayak. I also got a revo13 as a 2nd kayak. Coming from a wider and more roomy kayak (old town predator pdl) I run into the issue of where to put my stuff.
I guess I just have to learn to not bring every thing haha. Just the lures and gear for species I’m targeting
Yeah I don't like to carry a lot of gear. 90% of the time just one rod.
Nice fishing. Like
Thank Gin 😊
That is some set up bud
Thanks 😊
Looking forward to your Garmin review. Your would be a review I'd trust as you're not one of these over-hyped, trying to hard guys. Definitely like to see details on what you like about it and don't. Cheers!
I plan to do a Garmin review for this Friday since I didn't get to fish last weekend 😉
Couple of questions (now that I'm thinking about getting a kayak for fishing): Have you ever flipped in the ocean/how likely is that? What's the weight/height limit on this? Is it do-able if you're 5'8" 225 lb - 6'2" 295? How long did you practice kayaking before you felt comfortable adding fishing to all of the staying-afloat activities?
I have not flipped in the ocean other than while surf launching and surf landing. Flipping is not very common but it can and will happen eventually. That's why I recommend all safety gear that I mention in my safety video. This kayak, Revo 13, has max capacity of 350 lbs which means it's really made for someone 250 or less. Once you get used to the kayak after a handful of times in freshwater and after self-rescue practice, you are good to go. Check out my safety videos.
Nice setup MooMoo. I was wondering if you have any videos of how you built your DIY gopro mount?
Not yet. Should I make one? But it's so easy LOL
MooMoo Outdoors yeah looks very easy. What’s the measurements of it? Gives a very nice view
I love Kayak fishing and cool video idea for safety reasons
Thanks 😊
Great
Thanks
Nice video and good information. Have you punted on the Old Town Topwater 120 PDL? Just curious as I'm eyeballing another kayak!
What do you mean by "punted?"
@@MooMooOutdoors Returned the football so to speak. Or is the PDL waiting its turn out on the Pacific?
I sold it at great price 😁😁.
what type of cord/material are you using to tie the fish clip and bilge pump?
550 paracord
A C-tug review would be good too. Do you find it loosens or slips back while dragging across rough terrain, sand or up/down hills?
Thanks!
Yes I'll do a review on the C-tug in the future. So far it has not slipped.
Very good video. What is the name of the wheels and where can I buy them?
C-Tug Kayak Cart. Many places have them.
Moo what pump do you recommend to get water out from inside the hull? Thanks buddy
One that I use works pretty good. There is a link in description.
Nice Moo. How much tougher has it been loading and unloading vs the old R11?
Not too bad. Extra 5 lbs do make difference though. If a kayak is more than 75, I really struggle because of my back and shoulder issue.
Did you have to install a port next to your gear hatch for your camera arm?
I used the existing sail mount for diy pvc mount
Hey Moo, how does the c tug fit under the revo? Looking to swap from a hobie 2trax with beach wheels as I dont like flipping it after it's been rigged up
It fits great. I was hesitant to buy hobie trax for years because of flipping the kayak when it's fully loaded. However, c-tug beach wheels are not as good as trax 2-30 wheels. I think it good as small wheels. There is an adaptor for the big wheels though.
How do you like revo comare to outback? I have to cartop too.
Revo all the way. Only time I would consider outback is when I want to stand up and fish.
Hey moo. I’m asking about a kayak. I am 17 years old 5’10” 140, pretty small dude. I fish in Alaska. I live here and will primarily be fishing in lakes and mainly in and out of secluded bays in the ocean. ( such as prince William sound). I will be trolling for salmon, jigging and bottom fishing for halibut, rockfish, and lingcod. I will definitely not kayak when the swell and chop is bad. I definitely want a motor or peddle drive. My budget is around 2500 give or take a few hundred. The kayak also needs to be relatively light because I will be car topping on my bronco as well as topping it on a c-dory and getting a kayak on that is a pain in the ocean . I also would like it to be stable because I will be spearfishing from it as well so I need to easily be able to get in and out. I like old town and what they do but I am not secluded to them. What are your thoughts on a good kayak for my style. Kayak fishing is new to me as well. Thanks! It means a lot.
Hobie Compass is another good option. It's light, stable and around 2k.
MooMoo Outdoors, Hi Moo, I also live in the Bay Area and looking into getting into the sport for ocean and bay fishing and crabbing. The compass has been on the top of my list but in recent days wondering if it’s best to get a used Outback or Revo13. Any thoughts?
Hey Moo. How did you add the scotty lake troller mounting bracket on the right side wall of the kayak? I noticed that when mounting the bracket on the right sidewall of the kayak, the notch only allows for the lake troller downrigger to be mounted with the arm facing inside the kayak. Did you grind the notch off? I"m trying to figure out the right way to do this since I can't figure out a way to mount it on the sidewall so that when I fit in the downrigger, the arm is positioned to the outside (to the right of the kayak).
You are right the arm has to face inside the yak. Is that going to be a problem for you? I kind of like it this way so that it guarantees that the downrigger doesn't pop out by accident when changing the angle.
@@MooMooOutdoors The only thing is that I can't fish with it facing inside since the weight would be in the kayak haha. But with the way the Scotty 241 mount bracket is designed, if you were to transfix the bracket on the right sidewall of the kayak, the laketroller can only be inserted with the arm facing the wrong way. If I grind off the notch, I could make it fit. But I was curious how you managed that.
You can turn it 360.
Insert it half way and turn the downrigger in any direction then lock it in by inserting it all the way
@@MooMooOutdoors Ok cool. Thanks much Moo!
How stable is the revo11? Im looking into buying the 11
It has really good secondary stability just like Revo 13. I fished out of Revo 11 for more than 3 years and I loved it.
Cool bro thanks
Thanks 😊
What size gaff do you use
I haven't measured it but it's about 30 inches.
Hey Moo, just saying Hi. I miss fishing with you.
Sorry I forgot this handle. Who is this?
MooMoo Outdoors - Michael Kennedy
Hey Moo how well does a Kayak handle an electric trolling motor and is it even worth the effort?
Electric motor works well in the lakes but out in the Ocean it's more of an assist rather than completely relying on it.
MooMoo Outdoors I have one on my yak. facebook.com/1357181234/posts/10223150275209377/ works great on the Sacramento River/Delta...can’t wait for salmon showing...trolling with this is a breeze
@@jeffw3776 looks pretty cool..
My buddy has one like it
I don’t understand, but it looks cool. The color is great, it is not a dull dark green or blue :D
Orange is the best color 😁😁
I have noticed in your last couple of videos that you troll with your rod in the holder behind you. If my memories are correct you used to keep your rod in front of you like you showed in the video. Is their a reason for the change?
Mainly because it doesn't get it the way of paddling. I don't really show on the video but I do like to paddle often.
After watching a few videos on revolution 13, i sold my hobie outback camo, and bought a 2020 revolution 13,This was the biggest mistake that i have ever made, that thing is like a cork on the water,i have to watch every move i made, or i will end up in the drink with little effort.I got sick of it,i sold it for a big lost, and bought another hobie outback.as far as speed is concern i don't think the revo 13 is any faster than the outback. The outback is a lot better kayak, lots more room than revo 13.
Sorry it did not work out for you. It sounds like you never got comfortable with being on the secondary.
is it next friday yet? lol
😂🤣
Nice rundown of your set up. You should check out loletaeric GWS vid at shelter cove it shows what could be swimming under kayaks!👍😄
I have already. Eric is my idol. He got me started on kayak fishing.
@@MooMooOutdoors cool he's been around a long time! Keep up the vids! 😃
Thanks 😊
dam your kayak is battle proven a lot of blood on the deck...lol
Bloody kayak is the best kayak 😂😂
check our water tight ‘conduit cable glands’ for the power cord of your fish finder. Might save the weather stripping on your haul from losing its full seal in the long run. They cost close to nothing, very easy to install. Find them at hardware stores in the electrical section.
Thanks. I'll check it out.
EVER LOSE YOUR RODS WHEN YOUR KAYAK FLIPS OVER ? I LEASH MINE IN ON A COILED LEASH SO I DONT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT LOSING A COUPLE HUNDRED DOLLARS , IF THAT UNEXPECTED BOAT WAKE HITS ME .
I have while bass fishing in the lake when I dropped my rod. I never lost a rod in the ocean. I have a float on rod. I got it back even when the salmon took off with it LOL.
Mo if you get a chance lookup joe vega on instagram he's been doing well on halis at gaviota, 2days of limits and it's only gonna get better,P.S ITS BITEING
