      @@sciencetechnology9167 It is impossible to describe in human words the terrible life that we live here. This is life in hell, in the midst of arrogant evil and complete lawlessness: Chechens do not want to work peacefully with people of other nationalities, prefer to live in robbery, theft, kidnapping. Many of them are armed, stole and rob everything that is possible, at home and at work. The slave trade in Chechnya has become a normal phenomenon, they are doing business on everything. And we, the Orthodox, are destined for the fate of slaves

      @@sciencetechnology9167 "Русь" (other Russian rus, Russian zѧmlѧ, other scand. Garðaríki, cf. Greek Ῥωσία, lat. Russia, Rossia, Ruthenia) is a vast ethnocultural region in Eastern Europe, the historical name of the East Slavic lands. The influential Old Russian state that arose on these lands, the political flourishing of which occurred in the X-XI centuries, became the basis for the formation of a single Old Russian nationality, language and culture. In 988, Russia was baptized according to the Eastern Christian tradition. The feudal fragmentation of Russia into specific principalities and the Mongol invasion that took place against this background led to the fall of its parts under the power of external centers of power, stopping consolidation processes and subsequently determining the various development of cultural, linguistic, and, in part, religious traditions. At the end of the 15th century, an independent united Russian state was formed in North-Eastern Russia, the struggle of which against foreign rivals for gathering Russian lands became one of the main defining lines of the politics and history of Eastern Europe for several centuries. According to the definition of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, Kirill, Russia today is a combination of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus

      @@sciencetechnology9167 Grozny is a Russian fortress founded in 1818. In late 1920 and early 1921, two new Soviet autonomies were organized in the foothill and mountainous regions of the North Caucasus with a predominant non-Russian population - the Dagestan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic and the Mountain Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. At the same time, the Highland Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic was divided into 7 national districts, one of which was the Chechen National District. Its center became the city of Grozny
      On March 7, 1944, in connection with the deportation of Chechens and Ingush, the city became the center of the Grozny District as part of the Stavropol Territory, but on March 22, 1944 it again received the status of the center of a separate region - the Grozny Region, and from January 9, 1957, after rehabilitation of Chechens and Ingush, the capital of the reconstructed Checheno-Ingush Republic. Learned of the Hermitage Museum when I was 15 (1966) and promised myself to visit one day. That happened in 2006 and St Petersburg turned out to be one of my fav ever places visited. Its one of those cities everyone who travels should visit at least once in their lifetime. Love the place :) The first thing you notice is the actual scale of the city, breathtaking.

    The hermitage is absolutely giant, you need like a week, sunrise to sunset to just quickly glance every exhibit. My most favourite museum however was the zoological museum. I visited it 3 times and I still recall how my legs were hurting me after each tour. Luckily there are lots of benches where you could rest for a few minutes. During the Soviet times admissions were incredibly cheap. I wonder what the prices have gone up like today. the Naval museum is also quite interesting, having every kind of exhibit, starting from 16th and 17th century boats to more modern ships. The first floor actually had real life size 18th century yachts and the top floor had some space rocket ehxibits and early cosmonaut suits.

There they told me a lot about the war... But I get you, sometimes we find home in a totally different country. Same here! I was born in Brazil, but moved to the USA and also love it! And loooove discovering new places! 😍🙌

    St Petersberg just looks like such a beautiful city - I love the buildings and listening to the history. The tourist card giving you entry to all the attractions is such a great idea. I don't blame you for staying on the bus to get such great shots of this city while the weather was good. Great video.

      Totally!!! I posted another video too showing the continuous sunlight throughout the whole night: ua-cam.com/video/YjdkO9rJChw/v-deo.html - There's a cool time lapse in the end where you can see the light in the horizon and the sunrise at 3AM! My favorite attraction was the evening boat tour in this other video, as it was totally unexpected :)

      @@franciscojavierleal4268 Yeah, there's a lot to see in St Petersburg, especially if you go to Peterhof and Catherine Palace (I didn't even have time), as they're far. But Moscow has lots of attractions too. If you're into history, it's interesting to see their socialist past. That's what I did on my very first trip to Russia, in 2006, and I haven't done a video about it yet. Russia is very unique, expect an initial shock because the alphabet will confuse you at first, but then you get used. It's very beautiful!

    You see all important things in St.P. but next time my recommendation is to visit Krondstat (20 min from St.P), biggest european lake Ladoga and to taste tee from samovar, vodka and russian banya (spa, wellnes) with swimming in cold wather. Realy cool if you mix all 3 things (tee, vodka and banya :-) but improve health....

    During blockade people actually fought here, they were not just sitting around waiting to be rescued. It was a time of great starvation yet ppl in Leningrad still participated in battles and manufactured many things for army. 70% of manufacture lines has been evacuated from city but more than 50 factories and plants remained active. I believe that guide girl could elaborate a lil on that but she just said ppl has nowhere to go. Many ppl didnt want to go anywhere, Leningrad was, is and will always be their city. It was also a great battle of spirit. Starved ppl in blockaded city even held symphony premiere which has had significant moral impact on both sides: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leningrad_première_of_Shostakovich's_Symphony_No._7

How does it work with visas as I know you have to go to London to get one and fill in some complicated forms I think if you live in the UK?

    • @RenataPereiraTV
      @RenataPereiraTV  6 років тому +5

      Hi Mellissa! Yes, you need to go to the closest consulate (or there are some companies that will handle that for a fee if you don't live close to one) and there are additional documents you need to provide (not just the online form, plane tickets and proof of financial stability to support yourself there). The main difference is that you need to have an invitation letter from the hotel you're staying. At first, it may seem a daunting process, but all hotels in Russia are aware of this and they will help you with documentation (they will charge a small fee though, generally between 8-15 pounds depending on where you're staying). I applied for visas twice already, for 2 different trips 10 years apart, and the most important thing is to read carefully what they are asking. For every little detail, they may send you back and ask you to correct your application. Other than that, it's like a regular process to apply for any other visa. My husband and I did it in Houston, USA and it was ready in 1 week. Now, if you're planning to go for the World Cup, if you have a match ticket you probably won't need a visa. There's something called Fan ID for the World Cup, which will make everyone's life much easier! All the best!
