My only plausible theory is that this is entire reboot is poppy’s state of mind from a drug induced coma, because why the hell are there portals going to slime universes in a ART SCHOOL

The thing with Rainbow High is that I think it's obvious that the money of it is now going to the Bratz's reboot. So, meanwhile they're obviously making it about competing with Monster High this is literally moving RH to a younger audience cuz Bratz is going to be the line for older kids.
Oh boy I sure love it when my dolls have an entire Christmas tree’s worth of tinsel in their hair and come with the ugliest pets imaginable.

Kinda sad fr, These dolls were so beautiful and had such great quality 😭 honestly I think my niece will be disappointed as well.And she’s 6.. she likes slime but she loves all the amazing clothes and accessories and hair the dolls had! :( I’m gonna have to be the one to brake the news 😭
I assume MGA cutting corners on dolls (like removing the second outfits), not doing well with collector dolls (except Lily) and shadow high being their latest sign of decline made them believe that the adult market is no longer enough, despite us adults still wanting RH and SH, but with the quality of Shadow high Series one and the other rainbow vision stuff. Instead of upping the quality to justify their higher prices, they choose to shift the costumer they want to attract. Kids who love fashion dolls always were the priority, but its obvious that they hope to make ore money from younger kids, than from adults.
Its understandable, but also sad as they choose this route over quality
I came to the comments to say the exact same thing. I’m curious whether kids have been playing with Rainbow High at all. Their previous price point and focus on fashion did put them in a weird spot, I think, appealing more to adult collectors but not necessarily being made for them, if that makes any sense. Kids who are beginning to care about designer fashion are largely aging out of doll play. So who were these dolls really for🤷🏻♀️. I’m so sad to see the old Rainbow High go, and with that there’s the knowledge that I won’t be buying many of these dolls (except for Sunny’s - I need all the Sunny’s lol). I hate it but I think it makes sense for MGA, especially if the line was in trouble.
I just don’t get why they just decided that orange had no place in the rainbow lineup💀

I think there's a received wisdom that girls don't like the colour orange, that's why there's hardly any dolls with orange in their outfits in monster high g1, and why Howleen got a single orange-haired doll before they changed her to pink. Pink is just the safer bet in terms of sales, unfortunately.
It feels like adult fans gave critiques so the dolls could be better, and then MGA decided instead of making them better, they'd just sell them to kids instead
The Rainbow High fandom was a doll space for adults. They only needed a little more hit content and there would have been a boom. Instead, they sunk it.
At least at the end of this they can just say rainbow world wasn't necessary anymore.

Such depressing news :( It seems to me like RH is starting to wind down and will probably not be making dolls soon if this reboot doesn't go well. I can't see anyone really wanting these dolls. I only found out about them along with SH, when SH first came out and had quite a few dolls I still wanted to get. I was happy to find a brand who made beautiful quality dolls, and really wanted more dolls like Lily Chang. I also liked the Costume Ball line; well most of them. It's disappointing to see MGA deleting some of their best types of dolls in favor of something like this. Well I hope to see some good things come out next year also, or it will be end of RH/SH for me :(

I just need to know who at MGA has such an emotional attachment to the see through-slime-shitting-animals…is it a fetish? Is it semantics? Like what’s going on, because it’s not for us. Nobody asked for this.
(And side note, I think it’s such an ugly trend for EVERY impactful doll franchise to reboot the second things go slightly awry…RH isn’t even an old brand like you said. Barely 4 years old and already rebooting it, that’s so selfish to me. :/)
I am so intensely disappointed with the direction that Rainbow High is taking, especially as someone who is mainly emotionally attached to Shadow High specifically. I will personally not be supporting the RH Rebrand and will probably be focusing on focusing on filling in the gaps in my original RH collection and getting SH duplicates. I also hate the addition of the Poopsie Creatures and the random introduction of them into the show with no lore-based explanation. This RH Rebrand is just too depressing for me to deal with, so I just don't want to deal with it. It's extra disappointing as a Shadow High collector and fan because I know that MGA probably won't make as many dolls like SH like they did before.🖤💜

Ah yes, like monster high g2 the fashions sucked, but the base dolls didn’t. The characters were great! But the storylines/plot for the movies and shows were terrible. Rainbow high is definitely following Mattel’s direction because what is this 😭 hoping the “g3” of rainbow high is better or just revert back to the g1 style.

Genuine question but do kids even like slime anymore? I got very small cousins who are growing up with doll UA-camrs who show them what actual quality dolls are so they don’t like the budget or unarticulated dolls , mind you this girls are 6 and 8 which is the age demographic of rainbow high and if they keep dropping quality they’ll eventually die , kids aren’t stupid they’ll see the lack of quality in the dolls and see their cheap slime premise and will only grow tired of it

Seeing that the origins of Rainbow High is that slime was a huge part of the gimic with the big poopys doll's
I just don't get the allure of slime. Like even as a kid, I wouldn't have found it entertaining. Or if it were, it would be for a minute. Then I'd be like "ok, now what ?"😂....stupid. Can I throw it at my brothers face ? Now, that would've been fun.

Bro I don’t know why mga is obsessed with slime, like the slime craze was over a long time ago. Like i remember when it returned to popularity in the mid 2010s but they aren’t popular anymore. I personally never liked it to begin with it’s too messy and sticky. So combining that with a fashion doll? It just sounds crazy and stupid and bound to fall flat on their face
This is incredibly disappointing, everything that made me collet this brand is now gone, what is even worse (more really hilarious) my daughter (5 years old) who loves these dolls watched the PR release on a other UA-cam channel with me and proceeded to ask if I could rather start getting her Barbie again😂

I just got to say for the new rainbow high dolls with a soft reboot it’s just incredible but they are adding pets to the dolls now it’s kind of cool and I hope we get more in the future
