I love the way Jess handles his jealousy here in this episode. He doesn’t lash out the way Dean did back then, and you can see Rory learning from her first ever relationship with Dean when you see how she behaves right now with Jess at this point in the series. She was obviously scared and doubtful that Jess was going to be like Dean, but she could see the differences between them when he let her have a voice and explain herself. It’s also why we see Rory prepare herself to defend herself better because she never got the chance to when she was dating Dean, so it was a great move by Jess to remain calm and allow her to express herself. It’s subtle writing, but it really shows you just how much the characters are slowly developing and progressing over the course of the show because of what they’ve gone through or what they’re currently going through for the sake of the future of their relationships. It’s kind of like foreshadowing in a sense, to the inevitable things that’s to come later on, even if I’m sure that they didn’t plan that far ahead, but still… it’s moments like this that makes you wonder if the writers had planned it out beforehand, which I think they might have about certain things, just not everything, of course!
Jess didn't treat her like he owned her but if anyone, he did have the right to lash out. Especially at dean being a dick to him. Also Rory clearly needed to let him go. Dean I mean. Seeing each other in town she couldve just nodded for being polite didn't have to become friends for being polite. I mean she couldn't talk to the weird mayor nicely for being polite. Cause she saw how annoying that weird old man was. Then why not the same for dean?
Can’t believe Dean did this honestly. Hanging out with your freshly ex gf and the guy she left you for….what
Jess isn’t much better
@ yeah agreed
Dean is a wuss I feel like this is very on-brand for him 😭

So beautiful they are. Lorelai and Lorelai( Rory).❤❤
Dean giving Kelso vibes: “I’m not doing anything… and it’s working” 😏
“It looks crazy” and she was right.
