- This video is about how to make a concrete floor leveling with straight edge in an apartment living room. Many people asked me to show how to do it and now I am publishing it on my youtube channel. Please note than whole process from mixing a self-leveling compound till last rolling it with a spiked roller took for me just 20 minutes. During this concrete floor preparation I didn't make a patch for separate spots and cover almost whole floor. It depends on your floor imperfection.

It should be noted that Mapae, Ardex and Quicrete make the self leveling underlayment. Also the hard to find spiked roller is an ABSOLUTE MUST to finish the underlayment. Be sure to order one before you start or you might end up with a worse result.

I am curious what you charge to level a job of this size?
Got the same roller but have no clue what rod fits in it. Any regular threaded pro-extension pole does not. How did you attached it to your pole?

how you know in what direction to shove the straight edge,,, you said 1 rule is away from the door to the door,, but now you do it perpendicular to the walls,, how you know,, i have to find the highest point of the floor and decide? or find the point with more level? i m lost

nice work, but I wonder if you could level the floor just by filling the gaps under your straight edge. they seemed to be rather small
Hi Nikolaos, good question! Yes, I can level by the spots, but this method don't safe much more money and working time is to long.

I am using the same self leveling compound. The first time I used it, it did a good job. The second time, I noticed it was very thick. Then I panicked and tried to spread it thinner, but did not have the tool you use, spiked roller. So I made a mess. My idea is to try to sand down the "waves" and bumps I made, then put another thin coat using the spiked roller. What do you say? Will it work?

hard way to same results. always fill only the holes the rest will be merged with the original floor.

MrYoucandoityourself Я тут понемногу ремонт в бейсменте делаю и надо выровнять пол под ламинат в спальне. В интернете прочитал что сухая стяжка проще и обеспечивает даже лучший уровень но не знал что она только под плитку. Я никак не строитель и поэтому решил поинтересоваться.
Сухая стяжка делается, когда нужно поднять высокоо, а если просто выровнять - то самовыравнивающая смесь само то!
