I always really enjoy your city/town walking videos, you get a nice feel for a place wandering around just exploring. Both of the eateries looked great, amazing food and it’s nice hearing people having fun and enjoying a ‘live’ atmosphere. Very much enjoying having a bit of a binge on your past videos, please don’t apologise Shinichi, good (Satoshi’s and yours) content is always worth waiting for. Best wishes
The food in the Soba 🍜 restaurant looked delicious. The restaurant being 130 years old says a lot about the reputation of the business. Glad you guys had a great day out . No need to apologise for the lateness of the video Shinichi. Always a pleasure to watch you guys , have a great weekend in Europe 😀👍
What a day filled with so many interesting foods to try. I loved the look of the sake cups at the soba restaurant. They looked so beautiful. All the food looked and sounded so delicious. Can't wait for the next video. No worries about the delay in releasing the video. Always great to see a new place through your eyes.
Hiiiii my brothers! I’m so happy that the snow let up, so you both could go eat dinner. I love tsukune and yakitori! The garlic sauce sounds delicious. I’m curious, was the sauce on the sweeter side? Both soba dishes looked amazing as well. I’m just bummed that those loud people drowned out your voices. I’ve never heard of ground walnuts in soba tsuyu. It truly looked interesting. I love adding karashi to my tsuyu. Soba tabetai ne! Thank you for sharing Day 1 of your birthday adventure! Looking forward to Day 2, and please don’t apologize for putting this video out after your trip. We know busy you both are. ❤❤
Oh wow that food in the Soba restaurant looked so delicious, this was such a great video, and so happy that the snow is going away. Happy Birthday and so happy that you had a great time. So great seeing you both, thanks so much Satoshi and Shinichi, have a blessed and happy weekend, sending love and hugs, arigato!
Happy Birthday again! Any time you & Satoshi are able to air your videos is just fine with me! I love them. I didn’t know what shungiku was so I looked it up. So, I have something new to find & try. I’m hoping the Uwajimaya in Seattle has it.
I love finding hole in the wall shops like that basement where the soba place was. Hidden gems. I hope you guys come back to this city, it's very pretty!!!
See how Satoshi doesn't immerse the soba entirely into the tsuyu (dipping sauce) ? This is the way most Japanese eat soba because the tsuyu is strong, and you still want to taste the noodle flavor.
Looks like some different tasty dishes for you to try in Ueda City. It must have been nice to visit a new place for your birthday despite the cold. (Please correct the spelling of "famous" in your title. You must have been in a rush to catch up on your editing.).
Great video. But after watching your Amsterdam short do you find Americans of Japanese loudest, using there outdoor voices in restaurants? At times in both videos I had to rewind to hear you over the background.
I now have to make walnut miso! I swear I am going to get fat following your eating! Also, you do know that wearing a hat will keep you much warmer, right? Hats are the best!!
Happy Birthday again Shinichi-san btw is your name spelled with shin for New or White and ichi with one ? Curious about how your correct kanji Names look like

When in Rome, eat the pasta. When in Nagano, eat the soba. It looks delicious. Many shops including the one you visited serve hand made soba ( 手打ちそば).
I also like trying what food a region is known for.
videos like these are having a strong effect on my itinerary
Happy Belated Birthday!
I love to hear Satoshi describe everything, so mellow. 😎😎😎😎
shinichi, glad you had a nice birthday trip! The food looked great!
