I watched this to see how difficult/easy it would be to mount one of these. I have an Oscar Schmidt OE30 that is screaming for this type upgrade. Your video gives me the confidence to tackle it. Over the last year, I've upgraded the pickups to the chrome style. It had the two exposed doublecoil and frankly, it needed it. Major sound difference and upgrade there. I think the vibrato would definitely kick it up a notch. Will be following for more great videos. Thanks for all the detail and clarity.
My two glarry semi hollow body guitars look cool now that already had a tailpieces on them before so that don't have holes left over and i put fake autograph sticker on them.😊 Chuck Berry..roy Orbison 😊😊 Wow they look so cool... Thanks 🎉
Definitely want to do a project like this. Thanks to your video, it really inspired me to make an attempt!! Truly appreciate the information and awesome video brother…..Cheers!!!
Thank you. I installed a roller bridge that really helped with staying in tune. I will post the completed project soon. Thank you so much for watching!
Just out of curiosity, you didn't earth this; usually the earth wire runs from the tailpiece posts and back to the guitar circuit, but you've removed the tailpiece so is the guitar still earthed, and how? Might be something to clarify for people. ;-)
This is the one you would want for a LP style guitar www.amazon.com/Dopro-Chrome-Vibrato-Tremolo-Tailpiece/dp/B07Z78MLLX/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=3NZZ6FL2X5EV6&keywords=les+paul+vibrato&qid=1660504092&s=musical-instruments&sprefix=les+paul+vi%2Cmi%2C101&sr=1-1-spons&psc=1&smid=A2XLTLIC3Z3V1V&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExQzJRSjRGUUNPQTJJJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNjg0Njg3M1EyTkMwVlNXRjlGJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA3Njc1NzRCVlBVQ0k1S0Y4Q0gmd2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl
So, you don't need felt between the bridge and the guitar top like a real Bigsby has? Personally I don't like the fact that you're left with the old tailpiece bolts. This would be better to do on a guitar with a trapeze style tailpiece. I'm thinking about doing this to my IYV IJZ-300 TSB.
p.s. Before you make any holes line it up and make sure that the wood block under the top covers the area where you're going to be putting the screws. My block looks like it will cover the upper hole but not the lower one, so I'm going to have to abandon the idea.
Old school techs would glue buffalo nickles over the stopbar bushing holes

Would the same bridge work on the Firefly Les Paul as well?
