I honestly prefer Virtual Pro Wrestling 64 to the sequel. Alone the fact that it's a extended WCW vs. nWo World Tour (such a epic game, to the best wrestling Era for me of all time) is for me a plus. World Tour has the better soundtrack, way better and cooler comic graphic (the graphic of the AKI ones since WCW/nWo Revenge look crappy). I always preferred the more simplicity of World Tour. They tried something like mask creator on Yuke's WWE GameCube games (lead in design by former AKI employees Takumi Kon and Shunsuke Katsumata), but it wasn't as good imo.
@@dannycruz5446 Former AKI employees Takumi Kon and Shunsuke Katsumata designed the WWE GameCube games as stated by THQ's Brian Wanamaker at the time and by Sanders Keel (who saved WMx8 from being a puzzle game where you solved puzzles with WWE superstars) who mentioned it on Wrestling Game Rewind podcast on Conrad Thompson's AdfreeShows. Keel also stated on the "Talk Shit!" podcast with Pro Wrestling X's Dave Wishnowski that AKI stopped working because they didn't want to develop games on the GameCube rather they wanted to work on Playstation 2 instead, as well has because of changes in management at both AKI and THQ. I didn't mean to imply any rivalry. Any movement between AKI and Yuke's was made for the fan's sake. Besides there's no competition in my mind. Anything AKI-related blows anything Yuke's has ever done on their own in terms of gameplay, controls, fun factor, and general design. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited to see what they do with the AEW game because they have Hideyuki Iwashita aka Geta-san as an advisor to guide especially in terms of design. Personally I say Fire Pro returns on PS2 (and its 325 wrestlers) is the greatest wrestling game ever, but this is a very very close second! 👍👍👍
Don't forget a young CIMA!
Great review but what’s the song playing at 0:27
I don't know, but it sure is gay.
Well that's it, this channel has reached the PINNACLE of reviews! Best wrestling game reviewer of allllll tiiiiiimmmmeee! Great job buddy! You da man! 👍👌✌
Thanks a lot man!
I wish they would come out with more wrestling games like especially for create mode different colors and mask wrestlemania 2000 and no Mercy one of my all-time favorites if they ever make a retro system where you can play it I still would do buy it and play
I enjoy this video man!
The Aki Corporation now known as Syn Sophia has produced the best Pro Wrestling video games ever.
Not gonna lie. That theme is what made me subscribe. Lol.
I got this game at the request of my brother 10 years ago. I love it!
Tsuyoshi Kosaka and Kazushi Sakuraba... wow, very great rosters
Wow, the legendary wrestling game I’ve never played!!
WCW NWO Revenge was the best wrestling game ever as far as controls!
Masato Tanaka And Mike awesome Wow I gotta get me a copy of this one Fasho
This video made me get the English translation version really a great wrestling game some features not even in 2k
All of the Nintendo 64 games I believe that was one of the best game systems for wrestling I love The brood entrance I did that with undertaker and Mask kane with undertaker ministry of darkness theme that was the best ever you
I have always loved this game. I heard Japanese No Mercy and was sold 😂
The different refs arent just for look only. Some of them counter slower than others
I really like this channel 👍
I was able to get WCW/NWO World Tour & Revenge and WWF Wrestlemainia 2000 for 10$ all together at a clearance rack at a used dvd store but any recommendations on what type of n64 console to get that is compatible with Japanese games? I’m a ps2 and Xbox kid as I grew up with those two consoles til I got my ps5 a few months ago but should be a great video
Don’t get a whole new console. Pickup an adapter to play imports they are like 20 bucks and it’s all you need!
@@NikateeN thanks so much man it definitively saved me a lot of money I was looking for Japan n64 consoles lol much appreciated fantastic video as well!
Chillest Channel for Thoroughly Detailed Reviewed Retro Games. Especially Wrestling Titles.
Man, what a terribly written comment. But it isn't a lie. That's for sure. Channel deserves more Subscriber's.
Good Stuff!
Thanks a lot man!
He is truly the CCTDRRG (EWT)
Great review as always!

I enjoy your content bro. Thanks for the entertainment.
13:48 ah yes, Kamala 2. Considered by many to be the "Empire Strikes Back" of the Kamalas.
I got my cartridge converter and the game arrived yesterday. I now have a physical copy and it is awesome!

@@DickHandy-nm3ik Agreed, Dick!!
That game on Nintendo 64 is only released in Japan.

How do you give it the English translation? I have it on emulator for my tablet.
Awesome!
You might mention it in the video but I really recommend checking out the Freem Edition of this game.
Played for the first time today. I liked it way better then no mercy.
I've never played Japanese pro wrestling video games, only the American ones. I'm thinking about trying them out, but I don't know where to start. Any recommendations ?
I would start with Virtual Pro Wrestling 64, and if you like that move up to this one.
@@NikateeN Okay cool !!
Love this game. I had always use shoot wrestlers just for fun lol
Yeeesir. I'm happy to see video out already. Thank you good sir hope you're doing well!!
WWE SmackDown : Here Comes The Pain, WWE SmackDown Vs Raw 2010 and WWE SmackDown Vs Raw 2011 PS2 are the best Wrestling games to me
I played this game once on my phone ages ago but for some reason couldn't get into it as much as VP64 (maybe cause of the lack of English in the game? Idk). But after seeing this review it makes me wanna boot it up again on my Everdrive 64 and play it on my N64 on that, with that you need no converter heh. This seems like a fantastic and fun game and that roster is very impressive to me just looking at the names.
They tried something like mask creator on Yuke's WWE GameCube games (lead in design by former AKI employees Takumi Kon and Shunsuke Katsumata), but it wasn't as good imo.
@@MrCreepyKitty Yea it was pretty open! A lot of freedom, but I just prefer a lot of familiar mask options where you can change the colors.
Yuke's didnt poach Aki staff. That was made up to get people to believe that their was an Aki revival with the GC wwe games.
At times they had great ideas but it fell apart at the implementation.
@@dannycruz5446 Semantics. Either way former AKI employees Takumi Kon and Shunsuke Katsumata designed those games as stated by THQ's Brian Wanamaker at the time and by Sanders Keel who mentioned it on Wrestling Game Rewind podcast on Conrad Thompson's AdfreeShows. Keel also stated on the Talk Shit! podcast with Pro Wrestling X's Dave Wish that AKI left because they didn't want to develop games on the GameCube and wanted to work on Playstation 2 instead, as well has because of changes in management at both AKI and THQ.
@@EliteEasyE yeah, it was in one of those interviews with Keel where he mentioned that the Yuke's GC development staff being comprised of former Aki guys was just marketing PR for the press and fans. Not that I'm doubting what you said about btw
