Not yet, but soon.
20 years
@UmbilicalNightmare oh way before that. I'd say we're already in one, but at the very minimum we're guaranteed to be in one after 10 years so long as there isn't a world war.
Have been since about 2001, it's just taking a while to really hit home.

No, we have it at home
Dyson Headphones at home: put headphone and blue face mask
I can't imagine anyone using those. They don't seal around the mouth and nose. Maybe it somehow uses positive pressure to keep contaminated air away from the mouth and nose.
I think it might use the same kind of air resonance as their bladeless fans and like you said utilize air pressure maybe? Very intriguing topic 👍
No, the concept is sound. PAPR systems like this are the best option for dealing with the worst of the worst, like chemical and biological weapons (not when designed like this, this one sucks, but they do use the same techniques) They have a blower moving the air, so clean air is always displacing contamination and doesn't use a seal at all.
@@Suprapunk_2248 Up close you can see little fans in the center (in person and in this video). They look so tacky and gimmicky lol, I don't know who the target customer is. Anyone who hates polluted cities that much won't live there.
