Matt I loved your Turkey trip. So enjoyable. My brother and I are driving our bikes from Shannon Ireland to the island of Crete, Greece in June 2025 so it was great to see how you got on in the same sort of direction. Keep it up.
Hi mate. Thanks for the comment. Your trip next year will be epic! Something amazing about crossing borders and riding in the general direction you need to go! All the best with it. Will you be filming some of it?
Commendable how you have stood outside yourself, analysed where and what you are on UA-cam, and then been able to, so clearly and precise, relay who, what and where it's all going to and how. I raise my Bristol City FC cap to you Matt. Good luck on the future journey..., i'll be here to follow you, thus garantie you another view, to help pay for that house and catamaran in the sun... see ya bud!
Matt - yep, like your channel and how you've explained your motivation for continuing to post on youtube. It must be pretty difficult to post regularly, given your family/work/life commitments, but what you do post is always a good watch, and resonates with chaps of a certain age. Speaking personally, I'm originally from Bristol (though left many years ago) so it's great to see it through your lens! Keep up the posting!
You're right, the regularity of posting is the biggest challenge with UA-cam. Figuring out a way of doing it without being overwhelmed and having no free time is a challenge. I think it's possible, but it has to be scheduled and thought has to be put into every aspect of the video. I'll see how it goes!
Great to hear your thoughts on the future of your channel, i love the simplicity and authenticity of your vids, there's too much bike and product reviewing out there so your content is bang on. have a great Christmas and i look forward to more vids in 2025 matey.
Another great video Matt, I loved hearing about your journey so far-it’s inspiring to see how much you’ve learned and achieved in just 18 months. The breakdown of monetisation and earnings is super eye opening and especially for someone like me who’s just starting my own channel. I’ve been wanting to dive into it but have commitments that make finding the right balance tricky, so your take on doing what you enjoy while managing everything is really encouraging. Thanks for sharing your insights-I’m excited to see where you take your channel next.
Yes, I think trying to balance these things is the key. I really enjoy the whole process but I'm also aware of the fact that it takes a lot of time and energy. The filming and editing are one thing, the content ideas are another. Like I said in the video, I don't want to be the coffee shop rider. You can probably grow a channel like that but it would be the most soul destroying thing to do! Every once in a while is fine of course, but I'm not a coffee specialist, Nescafé is just fine! I think posting what you enjoy and sticking to that even if it means posting less is more important. You'll give up otherwise.
Posting once a week does grow a channel but takes it toll. We've been doing it a while, and in the end, you've done many of your best ideas and trips. We love doing trips and tours but it's difficult to get views on them. Ultimately you have to do what you enjoy doing on UA-cam as its very unlikely to make you rich.
It definitely involves graft and lots of time. We'll see if it's even possible in 2025. It has to be something that fits in with my daily life and routine, if not then I'll try and find a pace that works. I think I'm going to try and keep the ethos that if I enjoy it I'll keep going, if not then I'll stop.
50? Leave it out! 😂 Definitely one of my favourite channels. Down to earth, no showboating, relatable. Hope you get plenty more subscribers to help you pay for those coffees.
I totally enjoyed watching your videos from the beginning of your trip and I owe it all to you that I was encouraged to get my Thunderbird out of my man cave and start enjoying it again after 4 years of being laid in a corner as an ornament. So thanks again and keep them coming. I always look forward to your videos. Even if they’re not motorbikes related.
300 sqiddlies is 87 pieces of delicious honey soaked homemade flapjack at my fav cafe so it's certainly not to be sniffed at 😋😋 .Safe riding and all the best for the new year.Richard ( Brizzle)
Keep it going. My channel has only just gone over 1k & need to get my watch hrs up. I started thinking I was going to earn loads & that reality quickly went 😂😂 I now do the videos to try & pass on some Knowledge & enjoy making the video’s & if I earn a bit later on from it then happy days. But for the time being I’m not going to stress about earning money just do it for fun. If you fancy a ride down near Dorchester I could be up for a podcast type video
£300, wow you're balling 🤣 I did start a UA-cam channel (Bristol Biker) but only did one vid as decided I can't cope with all the trolls out there. Good on you for sticking with it. 👍
It's been a really interesting journey so far. The next video I'll go into some of the main take away's from the last year and a bit. It's been fun, and different!
I have had idiots/trolls making fun of my videos & it can put you off doing them & it very nearly did but I just look past it now & think well some people like it so I will stick at it
@@jbsworkshop mate, some people have nothing better to do. I'm liking your videos mate, so good to have connection with someone who clearly knows what they are doing. Might be down your way with my bike at some point when it needs it! Keep posting mate. Thanks.
@@thebristolthunderbird welcome to pop in if your ever down this way, even if it’s only for a coffee👍 or to talk about a little collaboration etc,I have only just started on the UA-cam journey so have allot to learn. I seek out and enjoy channels that do it more for the joy than the money as I find it more genuine and your channel is brilliant. I have just started and would appreciate seeing some of your tips and tricks so looking forward to that. Great videos so far and thank you for sharing
Mate that's really kind. You're right, the money hunting kind of spoils it for me too. Trying to keep it as genuine as I possibly can. My wife gives me pretty harsh feedback which is very valuable. (She hates this thumbnail, but my son's opinions won over this time!)
I put a few videos on UA-cam about 9 years ago. On watching them back, I just couldn't see anyone being remotely interested in anything I would have to say. They're still up, but no one watches them. I've been riding bikes since 96, but I'm no authority really so don't feel qualified to start showing anyone how to do stuff or dishing out advice. Saying that, there are plenty of UA-camrs who talk utter boll"cks yet seem oblivious and carry on. There are also many youtubers ho I think, just like the sound of their own voice.
You've made me want to take a look now! I certainly don't feel like an expert either, just my journey so far which has been a steep UA-cam learning curve. It's been fun so far. Just need to keep it that way!
You've done a wonderful job with the channel, I appreciate the time and effort you've put in to it.
Very nice video my friend. Great sharing and interesting content. Me as a UA-camr really loves to do with motorcycle that doing other content.
Thanks mate. Appreciate that. I'll check out your channel!
You're the CooL Biker of youtube & thank you very much for the videos.
Plus Merry X-Mas 😀
Showed my wife that comment, feeling pumped now. Haha. Cheers! Merry Christmas to you too.
Good luck! I try to do the very same!

Loving the channel , more Fazer resto please .
That poor Fazer hasn't had much love yet! I did take it on a ride the other day though when the Thunderbird didn't start due to a dead battery.
