Lol, good thing you didn't watch the live action, in that version he literally never tried to learn waterbending a single time, for some reason they decided to leave it for the 2nd season like it wasn't the entire purpose of them going to the North Pole.
Oh ffs, will you haters stop your clueless ramblings about the live action? Live action has different demands from a cartoon, different choices need to be made. In the cartoon, Aang goofs around to get over the trauma of losing his people. This would be odd in live action so they choose to have Aang avoid training. And there's no deadline like in the cartoon because of the actors aging. But never mind the details, it's not a scene for scene adaptation so it's horrible 🙄
