  • A tutorial showing how to light and render Substance Material files with Marmoset Toolbag 4. The first step here is to have polygon primitives which you can use in Marmoset to apply the material to. This video covers how to use the exact same objects you use to preview materials in Designer and import those into Toolbag 4. After that we go over setting up the material and then the lighting and rendering of the material as well as a short how to for turntables.

    Thanks for this easy but useful tutorial. I bought a Sci-fi shader tutorial and made my own. I'm satisfied with the result.

    Hello! Thank you so much for these helpful videos. Could you make a maya-substance workflow video but focusing on uv wrapping in Maya? Have a nice day :)

    Hi 3dEx, great video. I have one question for you. I noticed you did not need to flip your normal map Y channel coming from Designer, although when working in Painter on my last project I had to flip the Y for my normal maps to look correct. Do you ever need to flip your Y channel coming from designer? Why is painter and designer treating the normal map different when coming into marmoset? I would really like to fully understand this process. Thank you.

    I imported my unreal maps from Substance Painter into Marmoset. The head is cut off the body. In Substance Painter I see no junction, but returning in marmoset the light discover it, what should I fix?

    Great video, but this version is actually frustrating for those of us with less performing computers. The amount of subdivisions needed to achieve the great displacement result of Marmoset 3 is too much for my computer to bear!

      Yeah, on my computer as well so I am actually still using Toolbag 3 for Substance material renders

      @@3dextrude I'd like to do that to, but I'm having trouble with it, recently my graphics hardware stopped working properly with Marmoset 3, I don't know why. Can I ask you if there's a way to import the Substance material instead of loading the maps with Toolbag 4? Thanks

      I think you need to get a plugin to do that, I found this one polycount.com/discussion/224281/toolbag-4-plugin-substance-importer

    the turntable doesnt do anything for me, an animation is playing but nothing is moving, I didnt need a turntable especially but i was curious to see my material rendered with it

    • @3dextrude
      @3dextrude  2 роки тому +1

      Hmm, double check the object is inside the turntable. It may be possible the object is not inside it.
