I review the wear and tear on a couple pieces that I have been using everyday for the past 2 years. This is why I am trying to stay away from gold hardware.

Other people may not have issues because they put these pieces in their bags and what not...but I, not sure if you do also, continually take these pieces in and out of my pockets and so there is rubbing galore! I'll try to stick to SHW from now on.
You need to change the way you’re storing your stuff. It’s not stainless steel. It’s plating. Just like earrings, if you wear them excessively the plating will come off.
You shouldn’t have to baby these items. They are meant to be used. I’ve always hated Chanel’s gold plating, I don’t think it lasts, and then the item just looks crappy.
For the price they charge the emblems should be gold fill ! I'd rather buy a moderate priced bag and replace it often. I really don't like when my stuff looks tattered. But to each their own

Same thing is happening to my wallet I bought from Chanel Heathrow Terminal 3. I’m off to London in 2 months and I will be taking it to their store to replace it since I have my receipt.
I'm new to Chanel but doesn't Chanel take accountability for this? Cant you take it back into the store? I know with Louis Vuitton they fix any issues on your items even in they are old items. Great video btw.
+Ana Romero I've already inquired about a repair. Looks like you have to go into the same type of store to have your item looked at. So if you purchased it at a Nordstrom Chanel boutique, you have to go back to a Nordstrom Chanel boutique. I purchased this card case at a Saks Chanel boutique, but unfortunately with my constant moving around...I no long live close to a Saks Chanel boutique :(. It's been suggested that I mail my item in, and have the Saks Chanel send it off to be evaluated...but even then there is no guarantee for repair. I figured that it's not worth all this trouble and it might get lost in the mail somewhere...so I'll just deal. Thanks for the kind words :)
Do you know if this also happen to other brand like Marc Jacob? I want to buy one MJ bag hardware but hesitating because it comes with gold hw. The silver hw is not on sale unfortunately. Thanks.
OK, now I understand why you want to stay away from the gold hardware. Such a shame when things like this happens. But with the pieces that you have now in gold, might I offer a suggestion if you are willing to try it; clear nail polish. It might offer an extra layer of protection to the gold finishes that you'd like to preserve. Just be careful not to get it on the leather. Hope this helps! :-)
That's actually a good idea! I like it. I noticed even on my silver hardware card cases, they scratch really easily so I might try that idea on those as well. Thanks :)
How very unfortunate that the gold has started to chip. I agree about it not looking luxurious any more, but what you did with the patent card holder was very clever!!
I have the same problem with my Chanel boy with gold hardware. I have the bag less than a year and the gold starting to fade . I will contact my SA and see what she can do. Thanks for the video.
@@jeneegurung5769 yes, I did took the bag back to Chanel boutique and as I mentioned earlier since I purchased the bag less than a year it’s still under the warranty so my SA sent the bag out to Paris to get the hardware replaced it took a couple months to get it back and it’s was like new again.

Wow, that's really terrible. Even if you don't baby your items, an expensive luxury item should hold up better than that. 😬👎🏼😩😱

if you overstuff them, yes. i generally only keep one card in each slot + folded bills in the main slot so the leather doesn’t stretch out.
