I've heard about this, but have never seen it in action. That is a HUGE advantage WOW... Thanks for putting all of this together!
Also, no wonder I couldn't even remotely keep up Q_Q
Yeah and I'm stuck with default controller, I play the game on PS5.@@KingdomTwelve
wheelmode go brr
Also there is a new race when u shift airplane instead of Alpha gp. I was 10 Second ahead from Second, got the air one, then found myself 10th later..
This doesn't ocurr when u make the gran race shifting from Rally raid to airplane, u keep your position without losing it all.
Haha I did the same thing and lost a ton of positions Q_Q@@NMSSN
To add further clarity and to emphasize the core issue here. The issue is raw 1:1 steering > filtered steering *no matter the input device used.* It's been tested that the standard steering filter (which is the exact same whether you’re on controller OR keyboard) has a hard deadzone of *at least 25% which CANNOT be removed in the control settings by setting the deadzone to 0.* (I have a video on my channel which shows this).
The delayed and then the abrupt, instant transition to accelerated steering response curve with no graduation between the two is A BIG problem when trying to maintain a consistent line and/or adjust your line through corners. The lack of steering range is also a problem. Wheel users don't suffer from ANY of these issues. Again, the core problem is the forced steering filter onto controller and keyboard users without any option to disable it like there was in Crew 1. The preference solution to this issue would be to have a steering filter slider that each person can adjust to their desired feel. Rather than forcing one or the other onto gamers and making the competition locked behind the purchase of a wheel or a PC...
Over the course of time I’ve come to notice that some people seem to think the quickness of the steering when using wheelmode on controller is because of having full steering range within the range movement of a thumbstick - which you obviously don't have to move very much compared to rotating an actual wheel. This however is ignoring the real core issue here as the issues of a steering filter vs raw 1:1 steering are the same regardless of input device used (I have a recent video on my channel showcasing the differences between standard steering filter (for both keyboard and controller) vs wheel all on the same single input device (which is an analog keyboard). Wheelmode on controller is so sensitive that the steering linearity must be increased *dramatically* just to make driving using wheelmode on controller more drivable. With keyboard it’s almost impossible to drive well using wheelmode because it’s ‘too quick’. So, it’s obvious that a steering filter is a necessity, but not to this extreme... Even on keyboard the steering filter feels really bad to use... The hard deadzone of 25% (which is far too much), plus the delayed steering and having 0 graduation from slower to accelerated steering is overall, just a very poor implementation of a steering filter. One which puts everyone who isn't using wheel input at a disadvantage to wheel input users due to the nature of the differences between the raw & unfiltered steering (aka wheel input) vs the very aggressively designed filtered steering that’s forced onto all other input devices except for wheel... Forza has an option called ‘simulation steering’ which allows controller users to have the same feel as wheel users. Different name, same thing as wheelmode. In this game, we are seeing how **extreme** the differences are between wheel input vs other inputs and that’s why this is a major problem that needs fixing asap. #FairplayTCM
HIGHLIGHT: Again, the core problem is the forced steering filter onto controller and keyboard users without any option to disable it like there was in Crew 1
yeah thats why i had max steering input set to 80%. Car reacts faster now.
Thanks for pointing this out. I was wondering why I can set my dead zone super tiny on my controller but it doesn't seem to change how large it is in TCM. I would like finer control over that.
I didn’t notice this during the beta, not sure if i just didn’t play for long enough or if it was different in the beta though. But as soon as i got the full game i noticed and couldn’t get around it. I refunded for this reason alone as i couldn’t enjoy the driving and i haven’t looked back since.
The physics felt like a huge step up from tc2, but the steering controls are horrible.
FINALLY this is being talked about.
As a beta player, I kept on hammering about this issue and got some people talking about it, yet here we are. The Crew 2 has the exact same issue and IVT still hasn't learned the lesson.
No one plays the same way and as people improve in the game these slow and sluggish controls will get in the way, you'll be forced to slow down because of the controls and not because of the car's ability.
This applies to ALL racing games, and these days many arcade racing games have this same issue. We need to start demanding options for these things, there is no one size fits all solution.
Great video mate. As a PS5 player this makes a lot of sense and explains why/how console players are at a disadvantage all the time. ANOTHER HUGE ISSUE THEY NEED TO FIX IS " THE CUSTOM LIVERY MAKER" Now we cannot buy other players designs and enter them in the custom show I started to design my own. Every few minutes MY GAME CRASHES whilst designing, losing anything I haven't saved. I save designs IN THE LIBRARY and when you choose a design it JUST CHOOSES THE FIRST ONE IN THE LIST EVERY TIME so all the designs you've made are useless. The custom show looks boring now and the WINNING VEHICLE USUALLY LOOKS "ASS" with just a paint job and no effort put into it. Winning the custom show is about HOW MANY FRIENDS OR FOLLOWERS you have and NOT WHO LOOKS THE BEST OR HOW MUCH TIME YOU PUT IN TO MAKE IT !! Would be great if you could highlight this huge issue my man.
Ngl, ... not the biggest issue in motorfest atm, there are way more important issues to address now compared to the livery maker. I'm not saying it's not important i also want people to be free to actually create their livery, use them and all that good stuff BUT again, not the most important as of right now, id actually be pissed if they adressed it now compared to the rest
Yeah custom shows aren’t the biggest issue but i agree with what u saying. Tbh I’m getting and average of 10-15 likes and usually got plat but ever since they removed the livery thing if it isn’t ur own, I’ve been consistently getting only gold. At this point im convinced that ppl who get plat are just having their friends/supporters vote for their car even if it looks like dookie. It’s a shame, feels rigged tbh
@SaneU_c I’m new to the game and confused about the whole ranking. Do I get platinum if I get a certain amount of likes. Because right now I have 27 and have no idea if this means anything
@@Luke-rv1ex next to ur likes it should say what rank u are. If ur 10k or lower than you’re in platinum
What about something nobody talks about is the over exaggerated grip loss from the rear of the cars specially rwd cars, I can't even play the game because I can't control the cars, and I'm not a bad player but I lost a lot races because of that, ones the cars started to spin is almost impossible to drive.
A similar thing happened in race driver grid. Controller filters prevented extreme steering angles on controllers compaired to wheels. In road cars this wasn't too detremental to pace, but if you were in an open wheel car (even the slower f1000 cars) this would drastically kill your pace because those could grip enough to actually make use of the angle. In grid you could go into the ini files and manually disable controller filters, despite using a controller. It resulted in a car that was much harder to drive, but in the hands of someone who could, made you quicker.
It's almost always an issue to some degree in games where you can use wheels because you generally need filters on controllers for the game to be playable for most people, but in some cases like this and in grid the difference can be significant. Having the filters be adjustable so people can find what fits them is probably the answer.
This makes a lot of sense I knew I wasn’t tripping. Im a console player and I can see the difference when I’m in grand race and when I watch summit videos crazy disadvantage we have #FairplayTCM
The score breaker and nitro chemist and legend points system are already incredibly unfair to players who can't afford to spend 50+ boring hours grinding for parts. With just those I was able to make the top 2000 players in this weeks summit a few hours ago.
Dude! I was on the same spot😮 i was like nah my car never wants to turn like that !
@@Ryzza5 Yo Word!!!!! Its fucking insane how those part perks are active and encouraged in Summit Mode! They should just disable them only in order to make it more fair!
I hate grinding for parts! It's soo fucking tedious and annoying!!
Great video. You explained why wheel imputs need to be usable by any player and not being restricted by a dumb paywall. I noticed that generally a really solid player with a regular controller can most of the time stay behind a wheelmode or wheel player, but against 2 good players in slip with a wheel imput it's basically dead...
We already had that problem in TC2 but it wasn't that crazy... Regular controller and keyboard inputs SUCKS in this game...
Can only wish you lot good luck. Been an issue for 5 years in TC2, alongside other things and many already gave up on waiting for any positives on it long ago, including me.
🤞
The Goliath your participation in Simgii's #FairplayTCM campaign is significant. Thank you for your commitment to a better game.
Perfect explanation on the wheel mod system. Broke down everything down to the key points and examples. I was in the last race with kingdom and Dutch and we were baffled on how much fast you had gotten. Now we know why, but you did it in good faith. Great video! Hope IVT does something about it soon
This makes sense!
I was not expecting this video to be so detailed damn, good job 👍
this right here is why playing with a wheel in a lot of video racing games is already an advantage, and the certain settings that isn’t fixed or has a loophole can be broken just like this one
Same, I been playing racing games with a G29 for 8 years now (It's an addiction) and so far it's one of the most fun I had in racing games no matter how "Good" or "Bad people think they are... That most don't even have racing wheels to begin with.
I remember in The Crew 1 when the devs added the option to change your input to whatever you liked in the settings, which allowed you to set your gamepad or keyboard to play with wheel settings. This resulted in so many skill leaderboards being broken by drag cars that could now turn so much better with the racing wheel setups. Normally at top speed drag cars would basically have no steering, but cheesing in wheel settings completely got rid of the lack of steering at top speed
Drift leaderboards in the summit also were completely broken due to being able to flick any drift car left or right effortlessly and allow players to gain 500K+ (sometimes close to a million) points on leaderboards, this was never fixed leading into the Calling All Units update.
So seeing this issue make its way into future The Crew games was no surprise to me, but I guess it's good for them to finally address the problem after all this time. But frankly it should have been a non-issue from the start
after this fix we need to talk about reset car at checkpoints. add to the car +5 to spawn.
or just for the car to stop completely after the reset, like at the start of the race
@@unknownUser0130 Or for the car to reset you facing backwards into oncoming racers OR reset you on the *outside* of a corner barrier forcing you to drive in the dirt to get back onto the road, *and* in an alpha gp car mind you...💀 (yup, some obviously untested resets)...
the resets i do are actually do dodge the no brainers that crash onto the barrier at the firdt corner ... if everyone brakes and dont play the dumbass that use ppl to turn then a lot of ppl wont actually respawn.
And btw, if respawn are faster and the game allows it, then why not respawn lmao ... the goal of a racing game is to do the best time possible
Resets r fine n it’s not a problem because it’s available to everyone, unlike wheelmode which is only PC players
@@shaqplays2222 but normal people dont reset dont go on full gas into corner . maybe even crashing to some1 while doing it....
Thanks for made this video seriously, im totally agree with that ! We need a game more fairplay !
Now I understand how other players are doing impossible things. Even on pc vs pc if you are a player that want to do your best there’s a lot of a gab between a good player and a cheater. Thank you
Awesome video!
Sadly this problem has existed since TC2 and TCM made it even worse! The exact same thing for clutch...
TC1 had wheelmode and sequential clutch ingame! Since then IVT didnt care at all...
Semi automatic or sequential shifting would be awesome for the casuals/beginners like me
The fix is simple, call wheel mode "advanced mode" and make it available for all input devices.
Man I didn't know that the wheel mod can give u all this advantage , That's explain a lot things. Thank you Goliath for the explanation and btw can you upload a video in which you and predaking was fighting for the 1st place
Thanks for watching and I can upload it
Geez i think you really explained it best w examples to show. I didn’t think the delay on controller had that much of a disparity vs wheel, it’s actually crazy how much faster you can take corners. They really need to fix this asap
Also. The ghost state between changing vehicles at 33 and 66% is far shorter for pc players vs ps5. Maybe 3-4times. Which makes a massive difference. When the game came out I was missing checkpoints because of it and I am a high level ps player since the crew 1. Missing checkpoints because you can’t see your car isn’t right.
you can flick turn with a conventional controller by pressing X/A and square/X at the same time whilst turning (boost and handbrake inputs) although it’s very hard to make viable. i’ve managed to get it down but that’s purely because i’ve been doing it since the start of crew 2 and since then it’s become natural to do. i have a wheel too but to me the wheel settings on motorfest feel weird. it doesn’t feel as good to race with a wheel compared to a controller. maybe i’ll give it a go with the wheel again soon
I play with a wheel on ps5 the one setting I recommend changing is the wheel damper setting, lowering that usually makes it feel better and more realistic, however I can't play the crew 2 with a wheel anymore since motorfest just feels so much better and actually has force feedback
Imagine launching a GR and seeing Predaking, Goliath, Simgii and Nico in the same lobby 💀💀
Might as well quit the lobby and que up in a different lobby😂
I was in that first GR. I’m just glad I didn’t embarrass myself in the video when he zipped past me. 😂
I would be happy, finally some competition 😂
Whats really crazy is at launch the game played just like dis u could gutter real good np it was wen the hoonigan update dropped and they edited grand race performance nowwwwww its a big isaue
I haven't seen them race together in a long time, they had a great race, both world class top racers
ive been playing this game pretty much exclusively on wheel. was playing yesterday and just didnt feel like setting up the wheel so i used controller. and i was wondering why it felt like ass. thought there were maybe some settings i had to change. turns out there were just not in game 😅
A great video indeed, I suggest using kingdomtwelves gameplay to also compare the differences between the two inputs. Obviously it’s not the same driver but you do take similar racing lines.(only if he is not using wheel mode)
That is absurd! No wonder it feels like no matter how much I practice with the normal steering there’s always someone that’s miles ahead, because their steering WORKS with them instead of forcing you off the road or into a wall…
#FairplayTCM
Just to be clear multiple people (including myself) usually are well ahead of lobbies without wheelmode. While someone whose good will gain time with wheelmode it's not the reason their winning in most cases unless it's against someone else who is also just as good, but not on wheelmode
@@TheGoliath I did 4 grand races because I was bored, I’m far from a master at this game but in those races I finished in the positions in order of 1,2,7,1.
The 7th place finish was because of a really bad race route in rally raid throwing me and like 12 other people off the course.
I play with normal steering on controller, learned to be precise and become good at throttle management.
Also in high speed sections entering tight corners, I use the combination of nitro and handbrake simultaneously to flick the car into the turn which is almost the same as how direct the steering can be with wheel mode.
My settings for steering, throttle and brake are just, precise default on throttle and brake and then I have 0 dead zone (as far as controller can go) as well as having the steering linearity on 25.
For assists it’s the usual esp off, abs on, tcs on sport.
So I’m assuming this is how people are getting super fast times in the summits😃
And abusing the respawn system in Grand Races at times. Christ I really despise that shit.

I'd love this being a setting akin to the others - such as "Steering Filter - Comfort, Sport, Off", with sport being something in between current controller input and wheelmode.
I would say give wheel slower steering or give everyone the option to adjust their own steering sensitivity but IVT has made it clear that they don’t care about the competition. People on TC2 have asked for these same issues to be fixed for 5 years and theres still been no changes or acknowledgment. Wheelmode isn’t the only unfair advantage because clutch is also a thing. It’s only on PC or, for console players, locked behind the paywall of buying a wheel and H-shifter which can cost hundreds. A large majority of the cars in TCM have a noticeable delay between gears so players without clutch just lose time everywhere for no good reason.
This is all my opinion, but I think the best course of action is to make faking wheel mode impossible and maybe punishable, as well as making a slider that changes turning sensitivity for controllers.
I do get why it’s fast with actual steering wheels since steering wheels would just feel like shit if your turns were delayed to the same degree of controllers. Which is why I don’t think wheels should be touched as it’s capabilities are pretty much limited by the human body. But I don’t get why controllers can’t adjust their turning sensitivity like many other games can nowadays. With a slider for how sensitive your turning is you allow for those who want quicker turning capabilities to have them, but still keep the people who want more manageable turning sensitivity happy. I think I’d be a win win for all basically, especially for those who still want quicker turning but not at the same degree as “wheel mode”, like maybe something in the middle.
#FairplayTCM , seq + clutch like tc1 or forza for every devices/platforms needs to be added 💯,If someone is up against someone on wheel and h shifter clutch on console vs console controller there is serious disadvantage here aswell as controller don't have access to it.
great video man, love seeing this type of content out of you :D
Where did you get that gorgeous controller input design? I use it in my recordings as well but I never understood how to implement these custom designs.
Wheel input has been an issue since The Crew 1, except in that game you could select any device as your input device in the options menu lol
I think using manual clutch mode can also be problematic. This is the very same method as applying wheel mode. The same irrationality applies between clutch mode and regular genuine pad users. If you are a regular pad user, driving a vehicle that requires a manual clutch is like driving at a significant disadvantage. This is because it is difficult to achieve the best performance of the car, and simply applying a manual clutch, leaving everything else aside, greatly benefits in terms of speed. I don't think game players should be treated unfairly because of the device they choose. It's easy to think of wheel mode as cheating, but this is what makes it difficult for people to say that applying the clutch to the pad is unconditionally bad. I'm also curious about the UA-camr's thoughts on clutch mode. I'm not good at English, so I used Google Translate. P.s. Your Korean fan
That is true, The Crew games always have this little exploit where if you run with manual with clutch mode, for proper manual transmission cars you can completely bypass the time between shifting into gears so the car I drive mainly (2016 Mazda MX-5) have a manual transmission mechanic in game I can shift just like a DCT in the game when most super/hyper cars have that. Also it really helps if you own a racing wheel with a manual transmissions already (G29 + Shifter for me). I see why this could be a massive problem in summits when only Manual transmission cars can be drivable in that race. But it's super fun!
Yeah manual with clutch (macro) is free pace. It's overshadowed by wheelmode but it's just as problematic
General pad users have to risk losses when using vehicles that require a manual transmission. The game system, which requires limited choices in vehicle selection at the expense of speed, leads regular pad users to manual transmission mode. I think this is unfortunate.@@TheGoliath
#FairplayTCM great video shedding some light on what advantages both wheel and wheel mode are providing, hopefully this gets addressed
planning to signal boost!
Please do
what do you think about controller advantages? auto center, control in air, and more... things like that.
They don't make enough of a difference to overcome the advantages that wheelmode has
Simple thing the devs could do is make this an actual feature for everyone... like an option called "Unlock Steering" under the controller settings or something... I know its not necessarily a fix but if the devs don't know a way around this problem... there's a suggestion
Edit: Forgot to mention I'm on Xbox and tend to stay away from pvp in tcm simply because of the wheelmode problem
I hate Judy
Just disable crossplay in your Xbox settings it will take longer to match with players but you won't run into people using wheel mode with controllers though actual wheel users will still be present
This is such a big deal is almost unthinkable Ivory Tower devs are still pretending it doesn't exist till this day; it was a problem on The Crew 2 since launch and still being a problem now on Motorfest that HAS to be dealt with, good job!
Great video man! I played a few grand races with niconuen and i always wondered how he is so fast. I'm on PS5 with a normal controller and i never could keep up with him even though i'm way ahead of the rest. But now i understand. #FairplayTCM
I got Motorfest roughly a week ago on console. There used to be a setting in rFactor that did the same and it had to do with how fast you were going and how the game wouldn't let the wheels turn as fast at speed on controller so you wouldn't get that "jerky" motion. The same thing happens in Motorfest. I have a racing wheel but it's for xbox and I play Motorfest on playstation so I can't use it. I don't know why they don't just use sim-level inputs instead of this slowed down, sluggish, delayed input. I understand it's to help worse drivers control their cars but it's a hindrance to anyone even halfway decent on controller. Really sucks.
So wheel mode fixes the annoying scenarios when your car just don’t wanna turn n sometimes it turns…. Basically the inconsistency in the steering… THATS CRAZY‼️‼️ plus the other benefits
I’m on ps5 and I had no clue about this problem. I always wondered how some random on pc would gap me in the grand race when I had a perfect run. He beat me by about 10 seconds which puts it right there at that wheel mode advantage.
They might as well add simulation/normal steering so we have the ability to use a controller on a wheel based input. Like forza
Everytime i ran into a wheel player that was good i would always be sweating bullets to try and keep up, but as the gutters came they would just slowly fade away 🙃
I know what you mean 😂
We need to also mention the Seq Clutch problem tho. Using a third Party software to be able to shorten up the time of shifting, therefor accelerating faster, is nothing competetive should be fixed and/or be able on every input device. #FairplayTCM
Wow... i really appreciate you doing this because it explains a loooot of things, i'm not bragging when i say this but i'm really good at the game i don't use meta cars all the time because i like variety and that made me gain experience in the game but now i understand way better how worse players can catch up to me no problem plus i've seen that twitching mid corners when they adjust their line now it all makes sense... wow... #fairplaytcm
Every race somehow a dude is 1 minute away from us even if i was at the top 5.
@@veyum4841 well at least now we know what's going on with players that are so desperate to win and decide to cheat and have no interest whatsoever to gain experience and be better at the game...

Thank you for explain this. IVT really need to gix this. I was wondering how some players were going off road without spinning off. Its such a huge disadvantage for me and others using normal controller. IVT must know this, but why dont they wait so long to gix issues.
In your difficulty settings, in game options, there's a setting called "drift assist". Putting that on comfort helps stop over-rotation of the car (aka spinning out). Also, throttle lift off oversteer exists in this game. You can drive off-road in Alpha GP cars even just so long as you drive in a mostly straight line and *don't lift off the throttle at all* while off road. You can press brake and throttle at the same time to counter needing to brake if you have to. There's also countersteer assist and ESP if you're still having problems with spinning out. I can drive the racing Camaro SS off road (which is very prone to spinning out the second it hits dirt) and I don't spin out even on keyboard. So these things work.
@@Tesseract69 Thank you very much for the detailed information. I will try all that out to help with the spinning off track. Many thanks
@@davidhebson1262 No problem. GL
Thank you.
The easiest way to fix this is a steering sensitivity slider so you just turn snapy inputs on and off
This problem also applies to drifting. Drifting on a wheel is MUCH more fun and feels SO much better than drifting with a controller.
I thought that everybody had to deal with the same sluggish steering and that I would just have to try harder or have another go at trying out a couple of settings. I guess I was, at least partially, wrong. While I am not actually bad at this (usually decent platinum in TCM summits without any gold-set bonuses, yet) I wondered why I could not even get close to the cornering that I would sometimes see in videos. I hope that they come up with a solution to properly level the playing field and let players know about it. As if the whole grind for parts and the sorting of such was not enough...
Well, at least this makes me think less about the fact that I cannot go on proper cruises around the island with with my buddies because at least one of us usually diasappears after a short while, if we are lucky enough to make it into the same session in the first place. Not to mention the odd timekeeping that can be encountered every now and then. It is quite an achievement to finish a regular race in first place and have a slower total time than your buddy in P3. I have never encountered something like that in any racing game ever before. The game even hammered that wrong time into the summit leaderboard.
they could just make it a togglable option in the control settings, similar to how forza has it, then you could just label them something like "standard steering" and "sim-steering".
or they could make it a slider insted, letting the player choose how smooth or twitchy their steering is.
I agree this is a problem but it can be partially resolved by spending the time to properly adjust your steering input in the options
changing your in game settings will not even partially overcome the gap
So in short, IT needs to make it so that everyone can have access to this level of control via a slider.
That way it only comes down to skill.
Nice, imma go use this now 🙏🙏👌
I knew it was a thing but that flick thing is making it even more broken. I hope they will fix it but The Crew 2 is 5 years old and it still works like that so.. maybe if it get very loud we can get a fix
I’ve always noticed my car accelerates faster when using wheel and pedals than it does with the controller. I really only use the controller when I don’t feel like getting out of bed.
Well, this explains a lot... Seeing on GR a Hoonitron turning much more than a Gallardo is starting to make sense and how no matter how well i drive, these players pull away as effortlessly as if they were on rails. Holly sh*t... I managed to have a decent winning streak, but it makes a huge difference when these people show up, especially when they are already good drivers. If IVT solves this, not only would it be fairer, but the gameplay itself would become much great and frenetic, which would be good for the game.
i knew i wasn’t tripping when i did an escape feat and saw a mf weaving through traffic like his car was on rails at mach 3
😂
I'm just now hearing about this, I knew there was something up about the players being at the far top of first place, I'm pretty decent at this game to understand that I'm not that bad to be on second place, now I see what's going on.

all games have this, and its making me nuts all games should have a option to disable this "on purpose input lag" just for those players that are not that casual of a players and don't want a too sensitive steering input and also they should fix those physics of the game so it makes it fair for everyone
15:29 Question, what Audio Signature are you using on that Ferrari? It sounds so cool.
I believe the redliner kit. Was the very first plat summit reward. I think you needed early access to get it

Hey I was wondering if you could explain what order you use your binds for clutch to get those quicker shifts? I’m on wheel and have been using paddles but it seems like my shifting is the same even when I blip gas and floor the clutch
i think this was a thing in tc2 too but it was never really adressed. nice video
I wouldn't say this is really a problem, Unfiltered input will always be better its just how it is. Generally unfiltered input is much better than both a wheel and standard controller input in any game that supports it, its just flat out a better method of controlling an actual Car when you learn how to controll a car with it. The way i'v done it for years now is to always push the joystick upwards and thinking of the joystick like a wheel that rotates instead of flicking the stick
I like the fairplay tcm movement, and the video is great. It grabs attention. Bit unfortunate with the timing now that ivt is on holiday break though. What i'm missing, and i suggest we as a community come together and agree on is a solution. There are multiple ways to adress the unfairness of wheelmode, but not all of them are equally fair to the players. Adding wheelmode as an option seems fair at first, but like you said it is way too sensitive for most. I think the game should apply a filter to any input, including wheel, and that we can adjust the strength of said filter to our own liking through a slider in the menu. With a minimum strength that reduces or removes the ability to flick cars as easily.
Nice video. This explains why a friend switched to PC... What Im curious about, will you guys keep using wheelmode?
Yeah you need to be on a pc coz you need a 3rd party software
@@dxtro4fun380 What's the 3rd party software?
now it makes sense! ive been catching flak for saying that something is off in grand race. ive been playing games since the atari, and consider myself pretty decent. my best finish was 8th, and that was white knuckle. everyone telling me i got to use op cars, or i need practice. ive been practicing since i was 5 years old. thats 41 years of gaming. you def deserve the sub! im not going to call out the you tuber who basically told me im not good enough.
There is something off in grand race and this is probably part of the reason.
@@rickynotestine9963 im hoping it atleast gets ghost mode, that way i dont get gang banged at the first turn
The chances of you going against a wheel/wheelmode player is growing but it is still pretty slim, I’ve played over a thousand grand races and I’ve seen about 7 or 8 wheel/wheelmode players out of queueing in EU servers, im sorry but the people you are going against are probably just good at the game on standard controller
@@bran-rr nah, ive raced probably as many races as you, and ive seen the sketchy sht. i dont know how EU servers are as for players ability, etc, but on US servers, its a bashfest, followed by sht that is in no way possible standard controller sht. either way, im not concerned anymore
people need to cheat to win, so be it.
Welcome to the channel! Now if I'm being honest, if your best finish is 8th then wheelmode is not relevant to why you're losing. Many of us have demolished lobbies hundreds of times on standard steering. You can find some of those races on this very channel 😃
Everyone is mistaken the wheele to be an only PC thing. You can have the wheel for playstation as well. It's the wheel that's an issue. Need to have a just wheel and just controller setting when grouping
well then
that would certainly explain things
you know i figured something like this would happen when they added cross play
i cannot say im surprised
but i am a little shocked with how long it took for something like this to happen
definitely needs to be fixed asap cause pc players now have a huge advantage
it seems like such a simple fix... they just need to add an option to disable it that's all!! i use wheelmode on controller as i dont have money for a wheel and honestly i dont know how people play without it, its so sad too see how ivory tower r dealing with it
5:45 that reminds me of twisted metal's tight turn mechanic
Bloody hell so this is how people be making turns. I used to think I was way too bad.
Context is needed. Most people can't drive no matter what. Wheelmode doesn't change that
@@TheGoliath Ahh, yes you are correct but I was surprised by how easily would people cut across grass and have almost no speed and control loss and take the chicane. Also S Turns and U turns with snap changes in direction
Very good video, yes, it is really time for ivt to become aware of the problems of the game, and also the respaws, because no one buys the game, to play with the respaws technique, because it takes away all the interest in playing.
This issue has also been the case in the crew 2 with the drag cars, usually on controller, the drag cars SUCK to turn, they have way too little turning ratios and they just understeer straight into a wall, but with wheel mode? Oooohoho with wheel mode you might as well use drag cars for your everyday situations because it has so much lighter steering that it doesn't even feel like a drag car anymore
They really need to fix this cuz it's just ridiculous at this point #FairplayTCM
it was since TC1, watch Hu4yra's videos how he completing gates "feats" on drag skyline
I would also love it if bikes got some sort of buff
Damn so I could manipulate these physics like nfs 2015 now 😂
oh no please don't remind me of that game 😂😂
@@TheGoliath 🧠 🧘🧘🧘
wheel mode makes it look like your playing a totally different game lol, the car moves like it’s rocket league
Ubisoft give us contact ghosting like gt and fix the stupid car switch mid race and please give us an option to select parts that we want to scrap ... i sit in the game for what feels like hours scrapping parts then when im done i dont even want to play anymore😑
I win most races on console. But I did wonder why sometimes pc players only were so much faster. Now I know. Tyvm
It is a HUGE problem I’ve always complained about the input delay of steering in the crew I even put my dead zone to 0 and it still is very slow at turning smh
Hi! May I download this vid and forward to my Chinese friends on our website? Because most of them cannot access to UA-cam. I won’t make any profit if you’re worried.
yes that's fine
@@TheGoliath Great! Thanks a lot!
so how can i practice this mode? Every time i turn this mode on, i cant help slipping around, especially at low speed
well spoken Bro ❤ great constructive critique 👍🏻💪🏻
X/D was the key... like we all did in TC1 summits ^ ^
The only thing I don’t get is why not have wheel mode available to controllers, obv the physics will be different it’s a damn steering wheel but if controller can mimic that why isn’t a normal setting?
You can Actualy drift with precision . Your faster and turns don’t require you to preform perfect apex every turn
Maybe this time the community can pull it off but this has been an issue since Crew 1 and Ivory Towers has done absolutely nothing to remedy the cheats, exploits and glitches of their games. After 8 years playing Crew 1 and 2 I knew Motorfest was the same ole same ole. Here we are talking about wheelmode...yet again and still in the 3rd game.
Good luck getting the fix. I loved Ivory Towers and was a big supporter of them early on. After 8 years of waiting for the right changes and fixes...I moved on. I wish the best but I wouldn't hold my breath. Hopefully they prove me wrong...8 years later.
Great video no wonder I always get clipped at the end of the race 😂😂
W video #FairplayTCM

It’s just why I hate crossplay with consoles and PC players. They always have advantages over console players with tools, hardware, or even just hacks.
I liked TC2 split by platform.
They need to fix that, the vehicle changing being inconsistent and where they put the checkpoint especially when they add stupid ass planes kn the race, the sound not working when you switch cars, and putting in more pvp races and adding no collision. The amount of taces I've lost simply because people cannot drive and i always get stuck in between them and the people that use other racers as walls because they can't race cleanly is too damn much.
IVT don't care as they prefer PC players to cheat in this way. If this is to continue then LEADERBOARDS need to be separated from one platform to another. Same for the summits. PC, Xbox, PS all separate from each other. TC2 summit was the best way. PC players have huge advantages over console players. PC can be upgraded so much it over powers consoles. Shame we can't upgrade consoles yet.
Great vid by the way bro 🔥👏🏽
While it’s a problem, thankfully most players can’t make use of it due to skill
I however would love to have more input, i had thought that this was just how some cars handle, this’d be crazy in rally/raid portions in certain non-meta cars for me
Also the does the schmovement in Alpha GP come from wheel mode or just the better input, i be seeing some people zip back and forth in AGP without spinning out and thinking i’m doing something wrong
Very informative info great video
So this is only available on pc?if so why am I not surprised
But wouldnt it be possible to import the Wheel mod into the game and make it a feature like the Expert mode for Planes? Wouldnt this solve the problem?
