Gunbreaker I have a huge soft spot for not because of the specific characters who use it but because of their code of ethics integrity, comradery, and willingness to protect others. I love it to the point where I see it as my characters starting job at times and if I were to ever make a story for my WoL it would probably be that
I mean I guess barring warrior, the tanks all have a precedent to protect. The Paladins are a special force bulwark of the people Ul’dah/Thanalan yet almost wholly serve the royalty: the Sultanate alone. Meanwhile the path of a Dark Knight is nearly all in its lonesome outside of a Teacher and a Student, meant to take up an impossible arm to, again, almost entirely protect a specific people; this time it’s the downtrodden class of Ishgard against the injustices of the nobles of nigh fake power. The bigger picture between the two being the Holier facet of Paladins and purity; Dark Knights meanwhile pit oneself against their flaws to call an inner darkness into power.
@@zOMGGaiaOnline I guess to better state what I wanted to say a bit I like the fact that they don't just protect but they push the line they are suppose to open a hole in the enemy force break the defenses so that others can make it through and do what they need too. I don't know enough about it Gunbreakers protect by making an opening for others to take advantage of
One piece that people don’t realize is that the cartridge system is known as Soil in Japanese, and is a reference to the anime Final Fantasy Unlimited!
Love the lore behind gunbreaker and i love the rothgar even tho i dont play as one because of my special place for my hyur high lander i made in 2.0 beta ive never been able to fantasia away from.that model for more then a few weeks. !
This is the second combat job I picked up in this game (White Mage main), and the first one I got to 100. I absolutely adored the job storyline, and Gnashing Fang+Continuation makes me smile every time, I just wish Fated Circle came online by level 50 (and have a similar gripe with Reaper).
Just touching War of the Magi, you're coving at least three, maybe 4 classes: White Black and Red Mage, plus Scholar. Also my personal favorite of the known pre-7th Astral civilization eras.
I think Reaper would be interesting to look into due to how it’s a traditional Garlean art that has come under our arsenal. And we have the “killer’s instinct.” I find it interesting too how the avatars work since they act as a sort of “safety” for the contract to ensure the voidsent on the other side doesn’t overstep, same for us.
I was hoping for some special reactions when a character is also a Hrothgar, but sadly no. He doesn't even seem to acknowledge a fully realized ShB Gunbreaker relic.
I hope the lorebook makes a clear definition on Thancred and a normal Gunbreaker instead of just "Oh he just needs his bullets loaded by someone else" the drawing aether mechanic in gameplay, relying on your own aether mid combat to charge your cartridges and that of your enemy. Having to reload manually like Thancred would be extremely horrid and clunky for such an ancient job that relies on aether.
What I don't get is where in Norvrandt Thancred learns the gunbreaker or who came up with the technology and art of combat. He seemed to be the only GNB in existence in Norvrandt, meanwhile we at least have Lyna as an example of a DNC.

GNB is how I see my WoL too.
@@StoutHelm glad to hear another person enjoys the class like I do

I wish we would see more actual gunbreaking as a gun breaker ngl

Wait. That one FF anime with the laser buttocks?
@@acgearsandarms1343 No, that's a movie. FF Unlimited was a TV series.
This is one of two classes I haven't even unlocked yet, so consider this an engagement placeholder.
It's a bit late but thank you for making this. I love GNB and it's my fav job. I really hope we will get more lore about them in DawnTrail!

It’s my favorite job by a long shot!

A nearly century long war is a lot to cover.

what gunblade were you using in the beginning of the video for your character ? it looks amazing ~!
I don’t remember the name, but it’s a crystal trophy reward from wolves den pier. Easy to get with a few matches in CC.
I would like the Machinist and Sage lore so we can have the Pew Pew Trio as I called them xD
Definitely want to hear about Blue Mage 👀

I'm curious of Reaper due to it's origins, I'd love to learn more about it

Its an awesome job. I wish they'd unhide Ilsabard on the map though.
Also a great video.

Storm Elite's Chest Piece for Disciples of War, forget the exact name.
What's the weapon you have equipped?

This has been a long time coming. We all know your videos are just an excuse to show off your gun breaker glams 😂
Best job!!
Guilty!
