Most important invention? Easy. The Ixal. They made a race that’s not only outlasted them by millennia, the Ixal are highly intelligent, developed their own forms of technology and faith, and otherwise equal to all other tribes/races on Etherys that sprang up with the Sundering.
FF14 Xande's fear of death mirrors why Xande is the villain in FF3. In FF3, the great sage Noah had 3 disciples: Unne, Doga, and Xande. Noah gifted Unne and Doga with immense knowledge and powerful magic, and he "gifted" Xande with... mortality. Xande was enraged by this, slew Noah, and agreed to help the Cloud of Darkness from the World of Darkness destroy FF3's world.
Is never clear if Amon had always a hidden agenda against the Ascians, or he just started planing this when he understand that the promises of the Ascians were also a lie.
Fantastic video Stout this was so much fun to watch and bringing in the infor from shadowbringers and endwalker really filled in some cool gaps as well. This was such a treat not only to watch but witness you bring it all together with the community. I'm excited for part 2
Thank you so much for this because Allag Empire is one of these things I don't get even with all my reading of in and out game info, this video resumes the main points and helped me to understand a little more what I had read
I love the game but have a really hard time keeping up with the lore and back story so this video was really helpful! Love how you laid out a timeline and presented info in a really organised and interesting way. Thank you! :)
Sad to see the dragons get their shit pushed in on dragonstar by robots n tech only to get to Aetherys and get their shit pushed BACK in by more robots n tech..and magic. Ya hate to see it.
@@Blaktimus Well, yeah... with a gun, even a lowly commoner could defeat a dragon, while remaining at a safe distance. None of that jumping of towers, hoping you didn't miscalculate, miss the wyvern, and plummet into the Abyss...
It is guaranteed that the Ascians had a hand in the summoning of the eikons in Meracydia. After all, they fooled Tiamat to summon primal Bahamut by making her believe this way she could resurrect her mate. Keep in mind that the endgame for the Ascians was the rejoinings/Umbral calamities, and for those to be possible the source had to be prepped to accept a certain aetheric charge. Multiple Eikon summoning, intercontinental war (which they would use again and again on record for the sixth, seventh, and even eighth umbral calamities), and then the Bahamut star were preparations for the umbral calamity that followed.
I think you’re absolutely right, and I believe we’ll find out which ascian was involved when we travel to Meracydia in the upcoming expansion. That’s my prediction anyway but I think you’re spot on.
@@StoutHelm Hopefully it's one of those not yet revealed. Though I wonder if they would have much importance going forward given that they are for all intents and purposes, well, purposeless.
Azys la is basically Elpis when you think about it. A research facility of science and creation? Amon, Hermes' shard, being a prominent technologist there? Ntm the Ixal are almost similar to the Meteia...
I'd wanna say the aetherytes. Technically the modern aetherytes are a Sharlayan invention but they basically took the Allagans' homework and changed it a little so it's not obvious. I live in the capital so whenever I go somewhere else and I can't commute conveniently, it's such a pain in the arse. Cos you are so used to the convenience of having metros, trams and trains running constantly that it's a struggle to go back to not having that. I'd imagine that's how it felt with aetherytes. Once the citizens of this world had them, it's like you can't go back.
So Amon is an reincarnation of Fandaniel/Hermes, but in his case it seems he retains lots of the memories of Fandaniel as in the end he talks about himself as Fandaniel and in the very end, Amon the Undying says he has wore many faces but this was his favorite by far, alluding to that "Amon" was just a "shell" for Fandaniel
Emet-Selch: “Are you a fan of the Daniel?” Amon: “I will kill everyone because of that bad joke.” Emet-Selch: “Nuh-uh me first.” - *Final Fantasy 14 story starts* -
If they made the crystal tower there is a chance they used it to travel to shards like we did with the first perhaps there are allagans on another shard
Okay super late response but we know allag only ever managed to open a gate to the thriteenth. Garlond ironworks and graha worked togther in the future where the 8th calamity took place to find a way to reach other shards using the tower.
The Allagan Empire story was done dirty imo. When the story shifted to The Sundering the Allagan storyline took a backseat. There are some stuff wrapped up in ShB to Endwalker But a good example of this is the Studium delivery quest for gatherers. The professor who has been studying cultures has a line like "we should look at past civilizations to learn about their lives" The student goes "how about the allagans?" Professor says "yeah they are good but like elpis though 👀" And off you go to gather materials in elpis
probably because a lot of folks would rather forget that stain in their history, despite how much allagan brought to the table, there was more bad than good.
Ofc he is like sure the allagans are interresting and mysterious cultur but something completly new and basickly not even sligthly researched just got discoverd and you have a guy who can get you some primarie source materials.... Like that prof came probably when he saw you galavanting around sharlayan with nothing to do
To be fair it happens a lot in our real world, like Allag society was already being vastly studied when we get in the Eorzea and while it's super interesting, it also has a very bad legacy that I can see why mostly would not want know or go deeper into it Also I feel it already give us the answers we wanted and now is time to explore new things as suggested by Emet in the Endwalker ending
Not really a invention but I found this curious as the Crystal Tower is at the center of a god damn time-paradox. I have seen people argue, for example, in favor of Venat not telling anyone about the actual cause of the calamity because of a fear of wiping us out from existance because of said time-paradox. Yet, when we free G'raha Tia from the Crystal Tower prematurely, this should mean that he never went to the first, which means, WE never went to the first, meaning that the calamity would have happened, if said time-paradox were true, yet, no such thing happened. So there is that entire thing that confuses me.
Been wanting to get my hands on the ecopldia of final fantasy 14 but I can only read English anyone know where I can get the English version of vol 1. And 2
Only problem with the story is that it's not possible to be a big evil empire and have good science... People just don't work that way, slaves and mishandled people is just not a good source of science and inovation.

so the Allagan Empire did get the idea to imprision Bahamut in a "Moon" because the Ascian did tell them about Zodiak in the real Moon ?
We know Amon knew about Zodiark but it’s unlikely Emet told anyone else. Part 2 video will cover why Bahamut was put in the sky. Should drop tomorrow.

Tell where you got that glamor in the opening it looks like mass effect
Pvp
It's the Lost Allagan set from Wolf Marks. Should be pretty cheap to get. The weapon is the new gunblade from the Crystalline Conflict.
Go to Wolf's den, PvP area, theres a vendor that sells the set for wolf marks.
