- This Boeing 737 MAX8 had only been at the company 5 DAYS when I got to fly it! So fresh and so clean ✈️ The only way I'd probably get to fly a plane any newer would be on a delivery flight!

Agreed. I flew one in June 2021 and one in June 2023, both Southwest, and both flights were great.
Wait does southwest have the same displays for the -800 as well, or did you have to do some additional training for this cockpit? Anyway, I love your vids!
I just flew on a 737 Max 8 Southwest July 3rd from Nashville to Orlando. It was nice. Honestly, I was very apprehensive based upon comments and news. But I figured it has to be one of the safest planes out there now with all of the scruitney it's been under. 🤷♀️
Boeing would be in major trouble if another Max went down , and I think they know that 🤔
Probably the safest thing in the sky at this point..

@@mikeflippo6273 BHM is great now. My home town, and while the immediate area around the airport may be a bit sketchy, the food scene is phenomenal. Love this place now (as opposed to how it was about 10 years ago).

Can't you just tape it to the inside if the side view window? That way the sky cops can read it when they fly along side of you without getting off their sky bikes.
@@stevenserna910sky cops pull people over from behind because nobody is allowed to merge sky lanes while sober and sky cops have to be sober, so they wouldnt be able to see it

As an A&P who only works on brand new 737s, I can't really relate to appreciating the smell, but it is very satisfying to see an immaculately cleaned flight deck with no scratches and a clean P8 aisle stand. 🙂

Don't you just love a new ride?!!! When I used to travel for work, I'd rent a car when I got there. Always loved seeing a nice fresh brand new ride in my space, or available to take (National). There's just something about being the first ones using that ride!!

Imagine being the first person to every fly an aircraft. That would be a huge flex. One day I want to buy a car with 0 on the odometer.
I just bought a brand new motorcycle and even that had 3 miles on it due to transportation and test riding by the dealership lol, oh well
Congrats. I used to drive for a bus company and had the privilege of taking out a brand new bus on a trip. It was a similar sensation to your new plane right down to the new bus smell. Even the passengers caught on it as the boarded. Glad you enjoyed, you look very giddy about it all.

In the early 1990's UPS bought several 757 200PF aircraft. Loading containers on brand new rollers is easier than on beat up old ones. And I did go sit in that brand new cockpit. New airplane smell is real!

Wnet on a max 8 from london to krakow a few weeks ago, very uncomfortable for passengers - shall be going back to companys who exclusively use airbus from now on. ( im not really into aviation, and im not tribal so im saying this purely on my experience the other week.

That's really cool! Aircraft swaps always appear so confusingly in my flight tracker but normally I'm relieved when it happens cuz it means less of a delay.
Exactly! We call that "stubbing" a flight (doing a swap to a different aircraft to minimize a delay) at my company.

I’ve been on brand new airplane twice so far. First one was China Airlines Boeing 747-400 back in 1995, LAX to Taipei. Second time was American Airlines 737-800 ORD to BOS in 2000. That was because the captain said so. Couple times I think they were new, but the crew didn’t mention it, they were American LAX to and from HNL on A321 Neo.

I was at Gene Coulon Park last Monday near Renton Municipal Airport. I had the rare privilege of seeing a 737 first flight straight out of the factory. I was listening on the radio and the controller had to stop all movement for about 10 minutes.

Yes, Boeing made mistakes, but you'll notice that there were no accidents at the legacy airlines around the world. Even Ryan Air didn't have any accidents.
