Good info. I haven't ran into it yet. But I don't see a lot of 62's. Probably have done every 604 in town over the years. But not many 62's. My most common unit is by far the 6L80's and 90's. Always found it interesting how differing parts of the country see different common failures. That's one reason I like to see videos of what others see and how they address them. Keep up the good work, Gary!

Hello again Gary! Hope things are good in your neck of the woods. Since my last post here. I sure have had a run on these 62's. Bet I've done 20 or more. Still haven't joined the Brotherhood. I'm not a FB user, so that won't happen. I've been using the low drum from WIT. The one with the steel sleeve. Had good luck with until last week. Got one that leaked like crazy. Do you prefer the OEM drum?
Very Interesting. I see a ton of these being the transmission guy at my Chrysler dealer. I actually have a drum in my hand as I type this and I'm inspecting these rings and they look totally fine. This particular compounder assembly had the low clutch completely break apart at the snap ring groove, causing the guts of the drum to spill right out of the drum.
Another 62TE! All of the ones I rebuild that had failed reverse usually are from the owner backing up their driveway every day for years. The reverse clutch is always toasted.
I rebuilt my 62te with your instruction within last couple of weeks, perfect job with now issues. Just need to get it to dealer for update on PCM for the TCM software that was never performed on this vehicle. Considered a recall to fix gear upshift and downshift timing to better the shift quality.. Thanks Gary! From Selden BTW, Suffolk County! Where can I donate?
