I wish everyone shipped their pedals with power supplies, I applaud EHX for shipping their pedals with them.
But everyone has a power supply these days, because pedals don’t use batteries anymore where they once all did. So the power supply is redundant.
That Les Paul that was teased though out is the most blues lawyer looking guitar to not have a PRS logo on it.
Not even the blues layer have that much money to spent on a not labled guitar 😢
Blue is a nice color on an acoustic, I agree so many are sunburst and natural top.
The Week in Gear is an excellent show
Thanks so much
My understanding on most EHX pedals is that they run best at 9.6V, which is why they include their own power supply (9.6V // 200mA). Looking at the LPB3 specs, it “requires” 9.6V. However, running it at 9V won’t hurt the pedal in any way since you’re under powering the circuit.
I don’t know but they die quickly in my experience. Or maybe my electric supply is dirty
Normal 9V bricks and batteries run at 9.6V too.
That's just shitty engineering
In grade 4 Slash played a recorder. Look for the Slash Recorder by Gibson soon.
This is my first comment, and I wannabe a winner. No favourite Teletubbies for me, they are all equal!
Great channel Andy, for all of us with GAS.
Tinky-Winky is my teletubby of choice! Great episode!
So happy you picked the Solar this week! It's a beautiful and interesting instrument for sure
I love it. It surprises me!
I like the blue on the Epiphone.
I never miss a week in gear
Week in gear is the only way i stay updated 😭 thank u andy
You are very welcome!
Great show
Congrats on 120k and thanks for doing the giveaway. Laa Laa all day long for me, low key alpha and carefree
Here we go !!
I like the blue Epiphone.
Without a doubt the best and my fav is Tinky Winky.
I love that Gibson! Lol, to each their own 🙂
The Wee Thunder Amps Midknight Valencia is interesting. Relative to the unnecessary phase inverter, the pedal is missing a pair of 12AX7 (i.e. ECC83) tubes; each of the Orange AD30HTC's channels has two gain stages, hence we can subtract one more 12AX7 for the channel which is not in the pedal. This means that the pedal is missing a single 12AX7, likely the amp's input stage.
Quality content and good point of view as always!
Thank you
I do not have a favorite teletubbie. They all disturb me. My sons did not watch them, growing up. That Solar is a beaut, though. I would rock it, for sure. Now to enter the Beetronics contest.
Good luck and I totally get that they disturb you
Tube stomp o amp FTW ,
Fruit Tone Win 🤘🏽
Not the Siepen model but i recently buy a Solar guitar and after playied a lot of high quality guitars as Ibanez Prestige and even a Custom Kiesel I can say the Solar became my number one guitar. No issue beutiful to play, if looks to much expensive is because Evertune bridge is a really expensive option that raise guitar price a lot
Great another Slash endorsed guitar that’s what we need, I’m waiting for him to release his own underwear range cause we need more Slash products.
Glad that you laughed at the mention of Canadian dollars. We know they are jokes and as such, get printed with Monopoly money colours🇨🇦Aside from Crown Royal🥃and hockey pucks, we don't have much of anything else.
It was more a laugh WITH rather than at. I respect but enjoy what's going on over there!
@@TheGuitarGeek No offence taken, Andy. I am Canadian and we regularly laugh at our own money. When you mentioned Canadian dollars for the first time and laughed at the same time, it was s special moment for me and I commented. You may know the Darrell Braun Guitar channel, and one time he threw loads of Canadian money at the camera pretending to flex it...then said afterwards that it was Canadian and not worth anything. I have gifted you with two of our Canadian dollars just before making this comment🇨🇦💰🍁❤
I didn't think that the Gibson Custombuckers could live up to the hype. But they do, they really do.
Remember seeing you busking in Swansea, (still waiting for my change from the £1, I give you 😂) honestly such a great content,
Thank you! 🙏🏼🦆
The slash does not come with customer buckers. It comes with custom burst bucker Alnico 2. They used to be called slash buckers, but that was too close to his SD pickup name so they had to change it. The slash pickups are wound like 1 hot brust bucker 61, but with Alnico 2 instead of 5 from the specs and split readings.
The Midknight Valencia very interesting and looks like a great buy
By 'First Comment", I assume that to be a pinned comment from Andy, which would have a link for the pedal give-a-way? But there isn't one...or am I just not smart with the UK words? 🤔😁 BTW, I'm definitely here for one of my favorite segments, 'The Week in Gear'! Thank you, Andy!
Ooooh, that Epi acoustic, I do actually want that quite a lot.
This has become one of, if not my absolute favorite weekly show on youtube. The Solar looks great to me, would be interesting if I was in the market for something like that.
The Thomann Les Paul... I think in another color it could look great.
That means a lot. It’s fun to make and I would love for it to be THE go to show for gear news
I'm waiting for the Slash/Gibson Gold Top ukulele...
😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Thanks for the excellent content... eh. 😊
Another great video Cheers!
Please tell me what that LP style guitar over your right shoulder is. I love the pick guard shaped to fellow the cut away.
"You forgot to pin the comment again, didn't you Andy?"...
Those pedals look rather fun.
Love your videos and you dude, you make great videos. The BeeTronics Wannabe....me wanna....
In case this clarification will help anyone, the midrange filter on the Electro-Harmonix LPB-3 is semiparametric because its Q (bandwidth) is not fully adjustable.
“But! If you’re the kind of dentist…” 😂 I’m not one of those… probably couldn’t even afford the epiphone at the rate they’re going too!
Keep up the good work Andy 😊
Thanks 😉
That Solar guitar looks fantastic! I love the colour, the only thing that would be a quibble for me, is that bridge, as I've never tried one?
On EHX piwer supply, I’m guessing the target is the oft-neglected customer satisfaction. More manufacturers should try that for novelty’s sake…
Re. the pick of the week Solar finish, look up the Ibanez LHM-1 🫢
Would you even ship to America? Love your channel
Andy, are you a fan of The Darkness? They are one of my favorite bands. Was fortunate to see them a few months back during their US tour. Absolutely killer!
I love The Darkness. I’ve seen them play live a few times and each gig was great fun except one where I think Justin was going through some personal stuff. Still had a blast though
Waiting for the Slash double bass or keyboard or another instrument he is in no way linked to playing
120K - You deserve much more
I can’t wait for the $2,000 epiphone version of the slash guitar 😶
ANDYS PICK OF THE WEEK 😊
I was playing my Orange Terror Stamp this AM: if Midnight Valencia not your cup of tea check one out.
I'm going to have to go with Po as my favorite teletubby, mainly just because I didn't want to pick tinky-winky
I’m a Klondike!
the irony of that Les Paul looking like a Tremonti PRS...
Whatever happened to the Solar "budget" guitars they promised? Did I miss it?
It's S by Solar, they have their own website. And they sell out quickly.
Legit this "vintage" crap needs to stop, it's just a used guitar at the end of the day. Rich people made that term up to arbitrarily inflate used guitar prices
Agreed. I just saw a Klon Centaur on Ebay for $12,500...
@@UToobSteak ridiculous right
They do the same to cars and basically everything else. I don’t know how many times I’ve had to tell people that just because it’s old doesn’t make it valuable. It just means it’s old.
If it's just a used guitar, then you shouldn't be particularly annoyed by its cost. What difference does it make to you if you can get something equivalent and newer for less?
@@wbfaulk it's a principle
16:49 hmm . . . remind me of my neighbor's pit bull dog.
Is it me or is that image on pickguard on the Epiphone upside down. It looks fine when hung on a wall or on a stand but not when it's being played.
Tinky Winky! :D
I think that Gibson Les Paul missed a trick, that heavily quilted/tiger strip body would have looked really cool with a purple dye job, or dark green like that solar, frankly any of the darker colours, anything to stop it looking like a very bad photo-print!
Still waiting for the Slash bagpipe. Please Gibson make it true 😂
Po.
I think the primary reason that Les Paul is ugly is because the gray body fades into the background. I bet you that it they had used plain white binding instead of the 5-ply black and white binding that just becomes gray at a distance, and knobs other than the trans black ones that just fade into the body…
Well, it might not be so bad.
whats the guitar rack behind you?
👍
Most pedals are impossible to change batteries on now. Power supplies can often be a B&^ch to source properly if you don't already have them, AANNNDD since this will likely be either an 'Always-On' pedal or 'Always Used' it will likely be plugged in all the time and therefor kill the battery unless it is plugged into a power supply which will only make matters worse as it is a pedal designed to ALWAYS be in the signal chain for people who use it and if it doesn't have power, the signal chain will be at best, harmed, or at worst useless.
I always think Slash when I want a 335.
The wannabe looks cool
Where is the link to the giveaway? Don't see it in the comments.
I tell ya what, Andy. When I get ready to buy my first Gibson, I’ll use your link. Why not? It’s only money.
😂😂😂 that’s the spirit!
@@TheGuitarGeek hey, out of all the UA-camrs I watch that review gear, you’ve made me buy the most 😂😂🤣🤣
Those things are demons!
June 10th is my mum's birthday 😂 ❤
The Wannabee is cool 😎 👌 👍 😀
Love EHX but just wish they'd upgrade their switches... I'd pay a little more for something that didn't sound like stamping on a sardine tin in a cave :)
I agree with this totally. I wonder how much extra it would be
I think you should dress up in fancy dress for quiet gear weeks,Andy.
“If your wee thunders, seek medical attention…”
Teletubbie? I don't know. I never watched the show. Lol.
lala
The Electro Harmonix LBP3 is a really useful tool. But I'm using a 10 band equilizer from Joyo for cutting through in the band context for soloing. The most interesting thing this time is Semitone... I was on their website and found some very interesting pedals and guitars...
This time I haven't found gear in your listing that really inspired me, but I found it on Semitone.
I think the lpb3 would be a powerful choice for anyone without an eq pedal. Glad semitone was a good sponsorship choice
I’m definitely a Wannabee!!!!
Please enjoy some silly Canadian money🍁...with my apologies...for the money...being, you know, Canadian and all. You have two of our dollars, referred to in coin form as "loonies." My apologies, yet again🇨🇦
Thank you for the loonies! 😂
I can smell it from here😍
Sorry $800 for a layered back and sides laurel fretboard guitar is a rip off, for a similar price you can get a solid Yamaha or faith, for a little extra you can have a lovely rosewood backed one
I agree BUT this is a “good” price for an epiphone
Cause without power its a metal box with crap in
LPB-1 @ a boss GE7 will be a better tone shaper. Can I have a free pedal now? " Busting for a Slash" 3 pints later.
that needs to be tested!
First!
15k for a slash or 1500 for a solar ...ill take the solar
DIPSY!
Yes!!!! I see you
@@TheGuitarGeek 🤣 HA! Why did I doubt?
Who doesn't want another pedal?
I rather wait for the Slash Ukulele....
We can be only mere weeks away from that
I wonder if fender and Gibson will run out of retro years to continue remaking and have to resort to reissuing “ 1970s” models with shite pickups and necks and bodies that don’t fit well and plastics picked out the scrap bin. Some guitarist will buy it ,
Slash and Bonamassa the clowns of ‘signature’ guitars at Gibson
First ! :D
Love it all 🎸… But not the ugly LP 😳😳🤮
i actually dont mind if companies like Gibson sell $15 thousand guitars if they do it direct and keep from cluttering up retail stores and websites. sell whatever you want to whoever, just stop pretending that constitutes a "catalog"
EHX include a power supply because they care about their customers more than the bottom line.
They don’t give it away for free
@@TheGuitarGeek If they don't include it, they're selling a product that doesn't work out of the box. I know plenty of companies do that, but it's obnoxious. A new pedal should be plug-and-play.
My favorite teletubby is whichever one upsets bigots the most.
Ahhhh, the old saying ...
Big feet .... broken tube pedal
That Les Paul isnt anywhere near the ugliest (imo). The top is a little bit showy, but theres lots of old clown bursts that are far uglier.
Oh boy that Solar was hands down the ugliest thing ever. That LP is not winning any contests for beauty either but I would take it first every time.
The Slash ES 335 is such an obvious money grab. Pointless
So Gibson had an excess of 335 stock. Burn a hundred, instead of giving them to needy kids, slap the name of a guitarist, that can only cover licks from the likes of Page, in the guitar case, throw in his album that won’t sell and ship you to Disney Land for a coke snorting event. 😂
