If I’m going to pay $20 PER ITEM that’s thrifted, plus styling fee if you buy more than one item, I’m just going to go to TJMaxx or Marshall’s. ThreadUP can miss me with that nonsense.
The skort might feel too big but honestly it doesn't look too big, it looks adorable and best item you received. The flower dress looks dowdy and you are too young for that dress.
Kerry D I thought that too it didnt look too big at all and i would definitely have kept it because i would have classed that as a good comfortable fit on me.
Some alterations are worth it, some aren't. My degree is in fashion design and I have lost over 75 pounds over the last year and a half and I occasionally have to analyze my wardrobe and decide if I want to take the time to alter items that don't fit anymore. Honestly, most of the time it isn't worth it to me.
Jade Prescott I agree with you, because I would have the same thought process, because of that I wanna remind you and me that clothes are incredibly valuable even thou they don't cost much. At least I tend to forget that they are made under realy bad conditions. people die sewing the clothe we throw out because they are not worth getting them tailored.
Freundin der Blumen & Hunde finding comments like this gives me hope. It’s so nice to see someone with a similar mindset. We see clothes as things to wear a few times & get rid of, instead of as investments to wear and love for a long time. I used to be the same way but I can’t be like that anymore knowing the impact it has on people and the environment :/
Stacey London from what not to wear says you should always be prepared to have some tailoring done for a perfect fit. I think you should do that for the lemon skirt as it's so cute
I prefer this style of haul video where you show each piece and then try-on immediately after as opposed to previous videos where you show all the pieces and then all the try-instead. I bet this way is more editing though! 🤓 Thanks for the video!
My personal experience with ThreadUp was this- I ordered a "beach" goody box and received maybe 1 item that would be considered "beach" wear, otherwise the rest of it was office/work wear that resembled nothing of the beach. The sizing also ranged from way too small to way too large, despite the sizing I entered. Just my experience!
Thrift Thick yeah I did, and to be fair they offered to send me another box without paying the $10 but I personally didn't wanna waste the time again. Hopefully everyone else had a good experience with their boxes though!
The dress is an A-Line. I would lean no on the dress, because I think it is "older" looking on you but the waist line being higher on the dress is actually slimming so I wouldn't put a belt with it. If you keep it, I think it would need tailoring. Please rethink the skort. It looked good and the extra room in the waist gives space to tuck in a bulkier top/sweater (side tuck for e.g.) Also, the velvet t shirt looked good to me, probably because that's how I wear them. The color on camera looked very nice. The leggings and the jeggings were really worth the box. Overall, I had a good impression of the Goody Box as far as quality. I am going to try it out.
Alice Diamond I was thinking the same thing about the skort. Not only does it leave room for a bulky sweater, but it would be really comfortable for when you’re sitting down or having dinner.
Update: I did the Goody Box. The quality and selection were great, but the sizing was off. I am Petite sizing and Thredup sent all Regular. Disappointed. But I will probably try again.
I contacted ThredUp about the sizing and Customer Support told me they DO NOT do Petite sizing in the GoodyBoxes. :-( Bummer. After some prodding they refunded my $10.
And do you have some comfy shapewear? I have one that is just like a suuuuper high waisted brief that smoothes my tummy and I like a great many more pairs of pants with a little help from my foundation layers!
Have you ever considered shape wear? I feel that might help with some of the issues with the fit of the bottoms. Good shape wear can do wonders! 💁🏼♂️😘
This place seems a bit overpriced for what it is and maybe a tad dated and off trend... Idk....the stuff looked cute on you tho! I really liked the leggings on you 😍
Yeah I'd much rather pick out the items directly than get a mystery box. I've bought plenty of items from them before and have liked what I got, but I also always sort items by lowest price.
I would invest in these outfits over the overpriced fabfitfun ones but you where a lot harsher in terms of fitting and sizing even though they seemed similar?
If you haven't sent the box back... the lemon print skort could be inexpensively altered. Placing a V at the back would make the waist band smaller to fit you. As someone who is less than 5ft and extremely curvy, I've always had to alter all of my clothes. A good tailor can pop a V into a waist band for $5-$15 depending on where you live.
Just putting it out there that just now when I went to sign up for a Goody Box they do not have plus size good box options beyond a size 14. I know they carry larger sizes on Thred Up but looks like that's not available on the Goody Box (yet).
Cassie...I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video. I love when you do clothing try on/haul videos! May I make a suggestion...would you finish out these videos confirming for us what you are keeping and what you are sending back? Often times you are undecided while discussing things and/or trying them on and then you end the video and we are left not knowing for sure what you kept. I would appreciate and recap of kept vs. unkept at the end. Hope you are having a great weekend!
i love thrift shopping and this takes the fun and the cheapness out of it. these clothes were a low price but they weren't what i think of for a thrift store. maybe if you hate going to thrift stores this would be good but i'd rather go there and take part in the atmosphere and go in the sections i want rather than have someone send me a bunch of semi random stuff and me have to do the work of sending almost all of it back
Alex Alex same here. You could go to many department stores and shop the sale rack for brand new clothes for much cheaper. When I thrift I'm not spending more than about $6 per item unless it's something really nice or high quality. Last time I went thrifting I got a skirt and cardigan new with tags, a denim vest, work slacks, a house dress, and a silk scarf for $18 total.
Used your link to sign up for a goody box and was saddened to see there was no plus size option. Very strange since the site carries plus sizes. Just wanted to mention so other viewers didn't go through the entire process of signing up to find out they can't do it.
I would absolutely be keeping that lemon skort and the grey polka dot jeans if I were you. Maybe a teeny tiny smidge too big but they both look super cute and don't come off as looking baggy or schlubby.
I hate that they dont have goody boxes for people who are larger than a size 14! I contacted ThreadUP about it and they said they're working on it, but its still a bummer!!
For $10 you can have the waist taken in on the lemon skort, Cassie! Since you pay thrift prices, it might be helpful to find a tailor to make minor adjustments. And I thought the velvet shirt and gray jeans made you look smaller!
The skort was already $20, add the ten for alterations and she would be paying $30 for a thrift skirt. Not saying that it can't be worth it to someone but it certainly wouldn't be worth it to me.
Lemon skort looks great you should get it!! The floral dress looks very New York SoHo boho and would look great with a belt like you said and maybe some yellow sandals. The stripey top was super flattering on you. I didn't like the gap skirt, it looked too short at the back and thin. Jeans were great too x
you know, i kinda disagree on the lemon skirt and the grey dress-shirt :o like, the lemon skirt is the kind of too big that with thick woolen tights and a sweater stuffed into it as winter-wear can quickly become the kind of necessary-largeness. and for the grey dress???? i think it looks great on you!! the fact that it doesnt accentuate your waist evens out the top-half and botton-half proportions of your body! ofc, maybe that's just on camera and in the end you know whats best for you, anyway. :) (especially concerning paying money for smth you might not enjoy wearing, duh). but perhaps for future references! just because something isnt tight fit to show your lovely flat tummy (which im so jealous of!) doesn't mean it makes you look bigger than you are!
I think you should start including a belt with the try on for the dresses to see if you like it better and you’ll be able to show what it’ll look like to us!
The skort was the cutest piece. If you arent opposed to altering or hemming your pants length, you can just as easily fix the fit of the waist. I often have to get pants a size up because of my bigger thighs and they end up a little loose on the waist and I've gotten them fixed. It's two small quick stitches on the machine.
Regarding the blue green dress, I don't think the neckline is flattering nor the busy design but if you really like it, try pairing it with a solid black or mid blue cardigan. I personally like the grey dress and if you belted it it would shorten the length as well. As for the rest, you have a perfect sense of what fits well and is worth the money ❤️
Cassie you have no idea how good it makes me feel that I'm not the only one out there with that "pooch". Where I live, I never see anyone with one, and it makes me feel like I'm just weird. I honestly started getting emotional when you were so okay and confident talking about how the clothes were fitting around it lol I've dropped 20 pounds and am working on 20 more but thank you for being so open about your body. I really needed to see some of that confidence to boost my own today. :)
I feel like most of the items you tried on fit you really nice and you looked super pretty, but you found something "wrong" with them or like they were almost perfect except for one thing. I think you shouldn't be too hard on yourself and your clothes, i loved the grey dress and the floral sleeveless dress on you!
Personally, unlike many other commenters, I loved the green floral dress on you. It was very flattering on you IMO and very feminine. As a plus-sized woman myself (I'm a bit bigger than you, but tall), I quickly learned that A-line cuts are perfect for not accentuating the muffin-top that you would wish to disguise a bit. The dress does seem to have some shape around/under the bustline, so it is not "shapeless" by any means. For the price, I see it as a winner. Hope you choose to keep it, as it looks fabulous on you. As a side...Although definitely comfortable, I'm not a big fan of the leggings. 😉💕
The dress was a pretty print but it didn't do anything for your body you look much better in more at or above the knee lengths they make you look much thinner!
Love your videos, Cassie! I was really excited to try a box but the largest size they have is a 14 - how did you get them to send you 16s? That’s my size too!
loved the cream short skirt with a sheen on you. A light slightly longer wrap white top would look great with it and hide the sort of pucker in the fabric. Crossover brown purse and brown sandles! So cute
Yay goody box videos! I get a little overwhelmed on thredup because there is so many cute clothing items! So, I'm curious to see how/if the boxes are worth it.
Barring the issue if it is allowed, why is this such a big deal? She does this for a living. It may be sponsored but you don't know what that price was negotiated to or what her expenses may be. Also, with the way YT had the ADpocalypse a lot have dealt with finance issues, videos not showing up for some and losing subscribers. This just feels like a really trivial thing to complain about. If you don't like them you can download ad blockers both mobile and not.
Emily Guleff To be fair I never said it was a "big issue". But honestly 4 ads through any 20min vid is excessive...especially in the age of Netflix and downloadable TV. I have been with Cassie since her Boston days, sent her makeup when she was a struggling student, and am so proud to see her succeed on this channel. I also don't watch as many of her videos anymore because of the ads. It's just a fact. And ad blockers are cumbersome and.. as they are against terms of use I don't like using them. Hence my suggestion for a compromise. So step off please .. I was being nice, constructive and polite in an effort to remain a subscriber. Cassie doesn't have to listen, and that's fine.... it just means 1 less sub (which in the scheme of things wont matter a jot and that's fine)
Ms Foshizzle Name calling isnot called for. Making a personal attack on someone is not cool, discredits any valid point you might have had and does nothing for the conversation.
I think the flowered dress looked cute as all get-out on you. But more than that, it looked like wearing it was giving you joy! That all by itself is a great reason to keep it :)
These are some of my favorite videos to watch you're one of my favorite youtubers to watch because I struggle with skin problems and it has always been a huge insecurity of mine so I just love how real your channel is even with your makeup videos
I think the green floral dress looks matronly on you. I liked the grey one. I think you should try belting it and adding a chunky necklace before you return it.
Hi Cassie, that denim lemon skirt/shorts looks super cute on you to me. It might be worth it to sew some darts in the waist to make it fit better or wear a belt. As for the floral print dress it’s a 👎🏼 for me.
You're beautiful Cassie! I actually LOVED that heathered gray "dress" on you!! GREAT fall piece. with a chunky knit infinity scarf, and some cute boots- you could go any-which-way! (moto military style, OR knee-high riding boots).. maybe a little baret, or beanie... SUPER SUPER cute!!
Just a fun suggestion: maybe you could make a video with a personal stylist and show us what they pick up for you and why. It would be a bit different and out of your comfort zone, you might find some things you love that you would never have picked up for yourself!
I randomly stumbled across this video in my recommended and I just have to say... I love your energy and personality! I think you are such a pure, sweet person and I can't wait to watch more of your videos. Also, I love Galileo. He's a super handsome kitty. Also, I LOVED the way the patterned skirt (the one with the colored polka dots) looked on you! I think that it would look amazing with a shirt tucked into it and some booties/wedges!! My belly button does the frowny thing too, but I find that layering helps make it less obvious (a cami or tank top under your shirt and tucked in would help! I do that every day, just adds more coverage) I also think the floral dress looked beautiful on you :)
Ehhhh honestly that stuff just seems a little bit matronly on you. Not even the prints necessarily but the cuts and way they fit. I think it's a cool feature to get those boxes but these just hit the mark. You did a great job being honest but still professional and kind.
Hey Cassie!! That velvet shirt was actually very flattering on you! If you tuck just the very front of the shirt in to a pair of your favorite jeans, I feel like you could possibly make it work to your style. That’s a little trick I do whenever I don’t love the shirt on me but want to make it work. Much love.
My rule is usually if I don’t love it, I probably won’t really wear it- but everything looks gorgeous on you!! I swear, you could pull off a paper bag if you wanted to
I really liked the grey dress on you, I think with some accessories it could have looked wonderful. The jeggings were the best though 😊 I think Ellos is a Swedish brand, we get it here in Norway, it's nice to see it's made its way to the US!
Honestly girl, I thought that literally everything was cute on you EXCEPT that floral dress (looks like something my grandma would wear 😂). I could honestly see myself wearing majority of this stuff! Thanks for the video. That lemon skort was adorable 😍🍋
No I'm sorry....this stuff is way over priced. And I'm not trying to be mean but this stuff isn't that cute. I feel like cuz its sponsored, you were being nice. Idk.....the leggings did look great on you but the rest I could tell you didn't love. Just my opinion.
The Old Navy longsleeve dress looked adorable on you plain, but would be super cute with a belt - so versatile! Style it with boots for winter, wide belt in bright color for fun, skinny belt with chunky jewelry - I think it would be a good buy! Nice haul, and love trying on at home!
Definitely keep the flowered dress it looks really good one you !! Super summery !!! The leggings also look great and I liked the jeggings !!! Yes !!!! Do more boxes just to see if they get better !!!!!
I love the idea of this service so so much. I always scroll through ThredUp with the intention of buying something but the amount of things they have listed and the amount of sifting through I have to do normally ends up deterring me. So having someone else pick out the items for me would have been perfect - except I'm outside the size range. Womp womp. I guess they are only offering the Goody Box service for sizes XXS-XL from what I could tell? If someone knows if there's a different box through thredup for extended sizes please let me know!
Really fun video, so definitely do again. I just filmed my first Goody Box video last week and have already ordered my next one! Yay for cheaper clothes! Thanks for sharing!
Cassie, hi! The Gap skirt was sooo cute on you : ) The frowny belly is the equivalent, to me, of how our bras can show skin below or beneath it. Like, normal lumps, if that makes sense. And I did not know that ThreadUp was doing this, but I love it! They are so innovative creating a styling service with thrifted clothes. It is such as cool spin on traditional styling services!
ok but this is so smart of a service. bc i always look on thred up and struggle with just picking stuff 😂 definitely trying this. like stitch fix on a budget which is totally my vibe. ❤️
I always have that issue with bottoms around my waist. I have a booty and my waist is quite small compared so there's always that gap. Oy. I didn't know they were doing this. Thanks for sharing!
Awww all that for leggings? You had fun but no, seems like too frustrating for me. I find their site overwhelming so have never ordered. This just makes it seem worse. 😿 But thanks for letting me see how their service works. Have a wonderful week! 😘💋
Cassie, this was an exceptionally fun video to watch!! I liked how you pulled each item out of the box and showed how it looked on you before you pulled the next item out. The stylist sent you some excellent items! I loved those leggings! I hope you do this again. Maybe, on the next one, you could tell us which items you ended up keeping from this box?! Hint, Hint!! I
My thoughts: 1) the velvet tshirt was nice! A baggy tshirt is a good staple to have 2) the GAP skirt was gorgeous and flattered your figure, just wear some shapewear or a longer top if you're self conscious of your tummy (which you shouldn't be!) 3) the flower dress aged you by like 40 years - DO NOT KEEP
You complained about almost every single piece. I understand that clothing isn't perfect but there really isn't anything wrong with half of these items. You can always tuck your shirts in or put an accent belt to define your waist. If that is too much to do then I think that's pretty lazy. Also if you are not happy bc some of the bottoms show your stomach or rolls then losing some weight and toning your stomach will help.
I wasn’t even halfway thru the video when I clicked the link to get my own goody box. HOWEVER, it doesn’t come in plus sizes. I’ve ordered many plus size items from them in the past and i’m confused and disappointed that this service is strictly for “straight” sizes. I made sure to email them my disappointment
Kerry D very mature woman dress for sure
Kerry D I thought that too it didnt look too big at all and i would definitely have kept it because i would have classed that as a good comfortable fit on me.
Kerry D exactly what I was thinking
Yes! I was just going to comment the exact same thing about the skort! I thought it fit perfectly... Still watching to see the rest...
I agree I thought the fit on the skort looked really good.
Cassie, dress is too matronly looking. Love the lemon shorts.
The lemon skirt was adorable and looked like it fit great, you could easily get it taken it a bit at the waist then it would be perfect
That was exactly my thought. Two little darts in the back and she'd bee good to go. No biggie.
Jade Prescott totally understand, I just thought that skirt was SO cute on her!
Why don't you try the 'meh' things with belts / jackets / jewellery etc? You might change your opinion and find a gem or two.
I don’t think that lemon skort was so big you couldn’t deal with it! You could tuck an oversized plain white or black tee in to it !
Sarah Pont or take in the waist with a bit of sewing. Since it seemed to fit well everywhere else
It may not be worth it to her for $20 bucks. That would definitely be a deterrent for me and I have the ability to alter clothing myself.
Stacey London from what not to wear says you should always be prepared to have some tailoring done for a perfect fit. I think you should do that for the lemon skirt as it's so cute

Agreed!! Much more fun to watch, when you get to see the fit right after your first impression!
That skort looked fine
My personal experience with ThreadUp was this- I ordered a "beach" goody box and received maybe 1 item that would be considered "beach" wear, otherwise the rest of it was office/work wear that resembled nothing of the beach. The sizing also ranged from way too small to way too large, despite the sizing I entered. Just my experience!
oh no, really?? Did you send them that feedback? :(
Thrift Thick yeah I did, and to be fair they offered to send me another box without paying the $10 but I personally didn't wanna waste the time again. Hopefully everyone else had a good experience with their boxes though!
Amanda J I had a similar experience. Plus they tried to charge me for a bracelet that I returned. It took almost a month to get credited. Never again.
That lemon skirt is adorable, I would keep it and just alter it!
The dress is an A-Line. I would lean no on the dress, because I think it is "older" looking on you but the waist line being higher on the dress is actually slimming so I wouldn't put a belt with it. I need those lemon skorts in my life
Edit: also that dress is hideous
I liked that blue velvet top on you, the looseness looked effortlessly cool
You could have that lemon skirt tailored! It’s not hard to adjust a waist!
And do you have some comfy shapewear? I have one that is just like a suuuuper high waisted brief that smoothes my tummy and I like a great many more pairs of pants with a little help from my foundation layers!

Lauren C yes! I agree!
Yeah I'd much rather pick out the items directly than get a mystery box. I've bought plenty of items from them before and have liked what I got, but I also always sort items by lowest price.
Get the lemon skort and pay a little to have it altered to fit- it’s just too cute and I love how fun it is- totally fits your personality :)
I would invest in these outfits over the overpriced fabfitfun ones but you where a lot harsher in terms of fitting and sizing even though they seemed similar?
Skip the dress, get the Gap skirt (your legs look long!) And actually the striped Sonoma top was pretty flattering on you too!!
If you haven't sent the box back... the lemon print skort could be inexpensively altered. Placing a V at the back would make the waist band smaller to fit you. As someone who is less than 5ft and extremely curvy, I've always had to alter all of my clothes. A good tailor can pop a V into a waist band for $5-$15 depending on where you live.
that's great to know that it's an easy fix, thank you Amanda!

I see you like skin tight stuff because a lot of the clothes you said were to big fit you just right
Cassie...I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video. I love when you do clothing try on/haul videos! How did u get anything past a 14? On the website the goody bags size only go to 14
That skirt Is not to big for you!! If you get it smaller you'll have muffin top an it will look to tight!!
The first skirt was so pretty, though!!! You should keep it!!!! It’s just perfect on you!!! Wear the right lingerie and the skirts will be ok!!!
wow that striped shirt with bow is super flattering
The blue velvet top looked really nice on you in my opinion.
For $10 you can have the waist taken in on the lemon skort, Cassie! Since you pay thrift prices, it might be helpful to find a tailor to make minor adjustments. And I thought the velvet shirt and gray jeans made you look smaller!

Oh that skort with the lemons 🍋. How cute! The blue print dress 👗 is a keeper. Fun video!
Can you do a video on the return process for Thread Up? Packing, mailing (usps, ups, fedex?) Thank you 😊
Lemon skort looks great you should get it!! The floral dress looks very New York SoHo boho and would look great with a belt like you said and maybe some yellow sandals. ofc, maybe that's just on camera and in the end you know whats best for you, anyway. :) (especially concerning paying money for smth you might not enjoy wearing, duh). but perhaps for future references! just because something isnt tight fit to show your lovely flat tummy (which im so jealous of!) doesn't mean it makes you look bigger than you are!

I wish they did Goody Boxes in plus size! I haven't ordered from ThreadUp yet, still checking things out.
a good way to avoid belly button situations is wearing high waisted underwear in a thick material !
Would be nice if this service was plus size friendly, I don't see any options above XL/14 😢
The lemon skirt is adorable, could you get it taken in or perhaps try ordering a smaller size? I can't get over how cute it is🍋💛
PLEASE do more of these cheap goody box hauls! stitch fix is way too much. love this
Fun idea. I agree with your choices... except one. I liked the lemon skort on you!
I would cut the shorts out of the skort and had it taken in for a skirt instead because the lemon print is cute
The dress was a pretty print but it didn't do anything for your body you look much better in more at or above the knee lengths they make you look much thinner!
Video idea: buy the thredUP reject mix bags. I’m so curious what you get.
Take a shot everytime Cassie says "excited"
Love your videos, Cassie! I was really excited to try a box but the largest size they have is a 14 - how did you get them to send you 16s? That’s my size too!
Awwww, it was such a bonus to have Galileo make an appearance. He’s such a beautiful kitty. Also, the abstract dress was cute on you😊
This a nice affordable box! I can’t get it right now but will keep it in mind!
loved the cream short skirt with a sheen on you.
The abstract floral dress looks adorable on you!
just a suggestion... maybe with sponsored vids you can not put ads thru the video?
makeup 'n' tantrums i didn't get a single ad.
Cassie doesn't have to listen, and that's fine.... it just means 1 less sub (which in the scheme of things wont matter a jot and that's fine)
here for the kittens she has become very greedy, shame!
That lemon skort is adorable! As for the floral dress, it's too matronly for you imo.
Agree
Yes there stuff is expensive for thrift stuff
That stripped shirts the best thing you tried on!!
You’re way to young for that flower dress it makes you look older then you are
Loved this video! I was going to get a goodie box subscription but they don’t go over xl? :(
The Old Navy longsleeve dress looked adorable on you plain, but would be super cute with a belt - so versatile! Style it with boots for winter, wide belt in bright color for fun, skinny belt with chunky jewelry - I think it would be a good buy! Nice haul, and love trying on at home!
The music at the end of your videos always gives me Christmas vibes.
Omg, Cassie!!! Did you know that you are on a thredup TV commercial???!!! I just saw the commercial for the first time today. How cool!!
Pass on the green dress. It makes you look matronly
the gap skirt looks good on youy! you can totaly wear it with a blouse over it!
The floral type patterned skirt was really cute!
ok but this is so smart of a service. bc i always look on thred up and struggle with just picking stuff 😂 definitely trying this. like stitch fix on a budget which is totally my vibe.
But thanks for letting me see how their service works.
I
This was fun! Could you do another goody box, but select a different style that you normally wouldn't try/outside your comfort zone?
I just tried to sign up and unfortunately they don't have plus sizes available for all of the clothing areas. That's frustrating!
I think the floral dress would look really good with a jean jacket!
My thoughts:
1) the velvet tshirt was nice! A baggy tshirt is a good staple to have
2) the GAP skirt was gorgeous and flattered your figure, just wear some shapewear or a longer top if you're self conscious of your tummy (which you shouldn't be!)
3) the flower dress aged you by like 40 years - DO NOT KEEP
I love thredUP too. Their quality is pretty good, I only return about 10% of what I order. For other websites, sometimes I want to return them all.
