They came up with a "great" concept for sagas: Indiana Jones WITHOUT Indiana Jones, Star Wars WITHOUT Luke Skywalker, Mad Max WITHOUT Mad Max, Mandalorian WITHOUT Mandalorian, and now Captain America WITHOUT Captain America!
Note that they hinted they would go this way with CA in the Eternals, when they referenced "Captain Rogers."
This really only makes sense in two scenarios. 1) Senior Democrats think they can make people vote Democrat if they take popular culture and jam it with fringe far-left ideas, no dissent is permitted at this level so they go along with whatever madcap idea comes along without any sensible people saying WAAAIT! Or 2) It's a legitimate plan to annoy the mass population by creating garbage movies and turning them to Conservative ideals

Captain America is something of a hard sell, even in his original form. He should probably just be a supporting character in other movies, I doubt whatever plot they write will be compelling enough for solo movies, and the fact that they are adding new characters in post really strongly hints of that.

These events ARE in the comics, including his death, you probably have not read any comics in a while. One could argue that maybe they shouldn't have used up all the 70s-90's stuff in one run, because that is the golden age of comics, but here we are, getting into the modern stuff that probably won't work well as movies.

well, since they own the whole run, they can always reboot the reboot, if they can figure out what went wrong. I think the main issue is they don't want to do the old stuff, because its not PC enough. Captain America is a more difficult hero to write good content for, because he does have a political and subversive angle, and is usually involved in real world problems, and not the fantasy villains that most heroes spend their time on. I think this may be the last Captain America movie for a long time, assuming they lose the huge amount of money on it that I think they will, considering all the reshoots of this turd.

It actually almost happened from what I understand with Ryan almost walking off the set because of the demands they placed on him by Bob and Disney in making Deadpool. as a matter of fact, I believe Deadpool with Ryan playing the leading role in the future is out of the question now with Disney .way too much pushback by him in keeping it unwoke.😢

He won't be getting 75 million pay day for any future movies, and they will wokify his character into oblivion. Giancarlo Esposito has been so overcasted and used so much that, it's hard to separate all the different villains he played, and its all blurred together. Rather than being a duct tape, he's the lubricant.

Not only does Disney not respect fans. The executives don't appear to respect talent and labor, either. As an actor, myself, it's infuriating to hear about so much time being wasted on reshoots and scrap-booking with scripts that were never properly developed. You think a project is wrapped--but no, the test screenings freaked out the executives, who, in their vanity, don't just kill the project but insist on reshooting it. Nor does it seem to matter the caliber of the performer, whether an up-&-comer, like Rachel Zegler, an Oscar winner, like Brie Larson, or a venerable veteran, like Harrison Ford. They've all been screwed over by Disney's haphazard development process and dubious creative decisions with characters and franchises. I'd love to see a talent revolt against Disney with Ryan Reynolds leading the charge to wrest control of the company from Iger and his cronies, since Reynolds appears to have some business and entrepreneurial experience and is more charismatic than Nelson Peltz.
This has to be some sort of money laundering scheme. Or like in "the Producers" someone is making more money by making a bad film. Some sort of scheme. It just has to!

After several years of reshoots on black Cap (who failed badly in the Marvel comics) they then switch to a barely watched Disney+ "What If" girl boss Cap. All we need to top off this Disney bomb is to make sure the costume is rainbow colored.

These characters are more important than ANY actor! T’Challa existed long before Boseman and didn’t have to die with him. Captain America needs to be played by a new actor, the Captain lives on.

I never doubt Doomcock. He’s got an excellent track record. Even if he isn’t right, I trust that it was either a rumor he believed was true or it was something the studio changed because of the backlash like how Kathleen’s plans to kill Indiana Jones 5 were thrashed and scraped.

Giancarlo Esposito had a very small role in his first film, TAPS. He was killed off pretty quickly.
TAPS was what started Tom Cruise's career. He played a nutcase in that movie.

Honestly? I'm down for them not calling Falcon or Carter "Captain America", because NEITHER of them are or will ever be Cap. It's just ironic that the reason they don't want to do that intersects with an actual reason not to. This is a case study in sunk cost fallacy.They have reshot a whole movie over and over and ocer... I won;t be surprised of this thing has close to a $1B budget and need $2B+ box office to BREAK EVEN.
I like Anthony Mackie, i like his "Falcon" character, why couldn't they just make a stand alone Falcon movie? Besides, Bucky is the one that was supposed to take up the shield and stars & stripes.
This won't get any better, they're writing blank checks with no repercussions to hold them accountable.
They couldn't walk back their DEI Captain America swap, and they knew if they had stuck with a White Trump stand-in as the villain, they would have pegged the needle on the old Woke-O-Meter, destroying any chance it may have had to reach an audience outside the Pink Hair / Nose Ring / Butt Plug crowd they've been pandering to for the past five or so years. Brie Larson can now breathe a sigh of relief, because this movie is going to be the Titanic of all box office disasters for Disney, making The Marvels look good by comparison.
Sounds like they're getting bitten by the sunk cost fallacy on this one, and boy are they ever sinking the costs. At this point they'd probably have lost less if they'd released the original (rumored) "Orange Man Bad" version and eked out what they could get, or just wrote it off entirely like the Batgirl movie was. Instead, with reshoots and the CGI FX scenes to punch them up they've probably spent as much as three normal modern movies (aka 20-30 Godzilla Minus Ones) and are still just delivering a flaming bag of dogshit to the theater doorstep. What a waste of time and money!
