I love how you can hear ATDI's influence in the early Mars Volta songs. Easily one of my favorite songs by them.
Wow this is an amazing find. Its like if Days of the Baphomet was part of Deloused. A shame it didnt mate it to the álbum but im glad they revamped it for Amputechture. Thanks for sharing❤

This version is from the "missing chromosome", one of their albums that is very hard to find. They redid and its called "Day of the Baphomets" and its on amputechture

@gacktxrawr Actually, I made this comment when I was pretty ignorant about the Mars Volta's progression in their own style.
I actually believed this was a newer song and assumed they were regressing to their ATDI style, but now it's pretty obvious to me how it's not the case at all.
Its so rare to find a group shot! its always just cedric and Omar! There are Other band members too ya know!!!

if you have watched any of videos with omar he talks about he talks about he makes different types of music with songs he has already created. just changing them, ya know morphing them into something different. Some of the lyrics he is uses in this album are from Amputecture. This is from a missing chromosome.

Good song, but I think it's funny how they ended At the Drive-Inn and began Mars Volta supposedly because they wanted to break away from this particular genre and now they are slowly falling back into it.

I believe you feel that there is a connection to this song and day of baphomets because Cedric uses these lyrics in this song from Day of Baphomets, "fondling with pitchforks in a cattle prodded sea signaling the sedatives to emaciate their queen ".
