- On June 22, 2023 - I crashed my Spyder. It was later deemed to be a Total Loss. So, meet SILIVER, my new Trusty Steed Indeed, a new 2022 Spyder from one of Can-Am's largest dealers, Moto Member, in Purcellville VA.

I did get to stay at Crazy Horse campground the 2nd night, but the coffee cabin was closed when I got there, and I left at 5 am next morning for an 800+ mile day, so I didn't get to have any of their awesome coffee. That trip is the longest and best trip I've ever done, because of the awesome friends I was blessed to travel with. 🤗❤👍👍

I don't think there was a better deal anywhere else in the country, thanks to Eric for finding it. Everything went very smoothly with both the insurance claim process, and the new Spyder purchase. I couldn't be happier with how things turned out. 😁👍
Wow. I have never seen that many Spyders in one place! Most dealers in New Zealand (and they are getting fewer and fewer it seems) would perhaps have three or four.
I have the original Sea To Sky from 20/21 and love it - although I have to say I wish it had the Car Play that this year's models do. Hope you're enjoying the new one.
Same here, the CanAm dealers in my region usually have only 3 or 4 Spyders in stock. I drove all day and spent a night in a hotel to get my new Spyder from this dealer 😁👍

I've never seen that many Spyders & Rykers in one place, including bike rallies, but I haven't yet been to a big Spyder rally. It was awesome walking around both inside and outside, looking at all the inventory 😁

First, nice new machine I really like that colour. Your unfortunate incident at the toll booth has underlined something I try to do all the time. Neutral before dismount! Leslie and I had a similar experience a few years ago on our F3. With trailer in tow we stopped for a break and so was go into get off the bike to guide me into a parking spot. I go t off the bike to let het off and she grabbed the handlebar on the throttle side as she was getting off, the whole rig lurched forward. Scary moment. Ride well my friend, welcome back to the three wheel world.
That would have been scary, but we do learn from our mistakes. The pedal commander on mine made it worse, just a small throttle twist, and it took off fast. I'm NOT putting a pedal commander on the new Spyder.

I’ve just had exactly the same experience with my 2012 V-Twin RT here in the UK. My husband, Jon, was moving it on the drive when it suddenly shot backwards at high speed and hit the brick pillar of the carport. The damage meant it had to be lifted back to the dealership. Anyway, the estimate came back at eleven and a half grand sterling. So the insurance called it a total loss and offered me three hundred pounds more than I’d paid for it three years ago.
I’ve just bought a ‘23 RT in black. It’s an ex demonstrator so it comes with three years warranty as well and has just 700 miles on the clock. I was offered such a good deal by Parklands North East Can Am that I couldn’t say no to it. They even included adjustable Hilo handlebars and delivery from 200 miles away.
I am so impressed with the service I have had from British Can Am Dealerships. They are all so friendly. It’s like being a part of a big family.
You came out on both ends (insurance settlement, & new purchase) smelling like a rose. If you haven't yet ridden the new RT, you are going to LOVE it. If you already have it, then you already know. Sometimes, a really bad day can have a wonderful outcome 😁👍

Have a 22 RTL silver, I love it. Has been dependably except for needing a new battery. Ride safe.
Do you use a battery tender when not riding for a period time (like winters) ? My 2020 RTL was almost 3 yrs old with the original battery still working great.
Just came across this video and what is really interesting is that my wife and I are going tomorrow to look at a 2022 or 2023 can am f3 T or the next one up model. Thanks for sharing your experience 😊
Spyders (F3 or RT) are a ton of fun. My suggestion if you're planning to ride 2-up, then whichever version of the F3 you like, you might want to look at F3 Limited, which comes with the topcase/trunk, for more storage, and a few other nice bells & whistles 😁👍

I wish I would have checked other dealers when I purchased my 22 RT Limited in April. The 2023 weren't really out that much so they didn't discount it very much. Anyway I bought the same color that you have. I am going to my first rally at Spyder's in the Ozarks. I am excited to ride some good roads since here in Houston, Tx there aren't that many. Congratulations on getting a replacement.

Good show, I have an RTL22. and today CAN-AM introduces the Spyder 24 line up with a 10' touchscreen and Apple CarPlay
The 10-inch customizable screen is a nice upgrade on the 2024 models. But Apple CarPlay without Android Auto is useless to those of us with Android phones, but it's a nice feature for those who have i-phones.

Interesting. During my l-o-n-g wait for my 2022 Spyder the CEO of BRP released a video apology for so many customers not getting their Spyders on time due to supply chain constraints and staffing shortages. All the while you have customers waiting and a dealer like this sitting on unsold inventory that is still available in model year 2023. Hmmm…..maybe BRP didn’t do everything humanly possible to get people riding on time.
I hear you. But this dealer is huge, and I mean HUGE !!! I have 4 local dealers ( within 100 miles ) where I've never seen more than 5 or 6 Spyders in their inventory, and they also sell other motorcycle brands. The dealer in this video is the largest BRP Can-Am dealer in North Anerica and maybe in the world. I remember those days of significant Spyder delivery delays, and it wasn't all due to the shortage of Spyders. It was more due to the shortage of certain electronic components, primarily from China and overseas Spyders were being delivered to dealers, who then had to store the Spyders until BRP could ship them the missing electronic components, for the dealers to install, which took many months to resolve those issues. This dealer happens to have the buildings and property to store hundreds of vehicles in inventory, and lucky for some of us, we could benefit on significant discounts whenever they have prior model year inventory still in stock.
@@SpyderWayne A benefit to some at the detriment of others. The others, however had complied with BRPs pre-purchase terms and in some cases pre-purchased non refundable accessories. While BRP did allow backing out of the vehicle purchase if you had accessories you now had a choice to make. It was a difficult situation for all involved. Learning of this only adds to the post purchase pain. Many folks that went on to add a trailer hitch on 2022s found out the hard way that the alternate sourced factory axle was not compatible with BRPs or aftermarket trailer hitches. Another trip back to the dealer. These are only the issues I’m aware of. 😊
What happened?
Damaged my first Spyder, insurance company deemed it a total loss. This video was the follow-up to a previous video about that incident.
is it a motorcycle? Is it a car? No. It's a Canuck designed (likely Mexican manufactured), three-wheeler that is entirely it's own beast.
Not made in Mexico, made in Canada.
@@SpyderWayne just googled and you are correct, my mistake, however the Rotax engine is manufactured in Mexico. Everything is assembled in Quebec, Canada however.
@@adam346 Rotax engines (owned by BRP) are made in Austria. BRP does manufacture some ATV's and UTV's in Mexico.
@@SpyderWayne BRP's own website says otherwise. Google BRP and then go to locations and check out their blurb on Mexico.
"Our Mexican footprint has grown over the years. We now have three plants in Juárez where we manufacture our Can-Am off-road vehicles, as well as the 3WV Can-Am Ryker. In Querétaro, we assemble our Sea-Doo watercraft and the Rotax engines for our Can-Am vehicles in Mexico. "

The Rotax engines are made in Austria. For CanAm products manufactured in Mexico, the Rotax engines are "assembled" in Mexico, which makes perfect sense, they assemble the engines when needed.. The Spyder is not manufactured in Mexico. If one could trace the origin of every single part, pieces, nuts & bolts, hardware, wiring, electronics, plastics, etc., you'll find some of these will come from countries all over the world, including China and Mexico. To be honest, if BRP starts manufacturing the Spyder or any of the Spyder's components in Mexico, it wouldn't matter to me. But I'm sure it matters to some people.
