Fully detangle your hair 1st
Start close to the root
Coil the ends
Use a gel!
Optional:
Try adding in hair cream or leave-in before twisting

Yes you can. However, I personally don’t love Eco. Some other options - Aunt Jackie’s Flaxseed Gel, Prose Hair Gel, Mielle Coiling Custard or even Pattern Beauty Styling Custard
Bros shrinkage is crazy
Shrinkage can be intense, but it’s a sign of healthy, elastic hair.
I tried these yesterday and they’re starting to come out😬do I just use the same method to refresh them?
Yes you can! But I don’t recommend doing this everyday bc you’ll stress your hair which can cause breakage.
Work on getting them to hold on the day you do them.
Tips:
FULLY detangle your hair 1st
Use a gel
Make sure to wrap the coil on the ends
Puffy roots? Start closer to the root. Don’t put to much tension on the root though!
How long have you been growing out your hair and I have 4c hair and how long will it take for it to grow into an Afro
Hey Huda! 4c hair is already Afro hair 😃. So eventually you’ll have the Afro you’re look for. It’ll take a little bit of time & maintenance. You’ll start seeing your Afro take shape around your first couple of months into growing your hair (3-4 months MAYBE less).
I’ve been growing my hair for over a yr. After December I believe I’ll hit that 2 yr mark. I hope that helps 🙏🏽

Hey! love your channel, i tried all kind of coils and stuff, but i have really soft hair, and when i try to curl it, it just doesn't have a curl like yours, no Mather how much I curl it.
btw i have like type 3/4 but a very soft kind, like when i use the amount of water in this short, it becomes flat...
If your hair isn’t as curly as his then you can hold the root of your hair and then use two fingers it works better thank me later
That’s a great tip for defining curls, especially for hair that’s not naturally very curly.
Yes i tried it once without holding it and NOTHING happened (I have 3b curls) so then i tried holding the root and curling with 2 fingers and it WORKED@@itscarltonrose

Ah, gotcha! You’re right, you can definitely use a comb for more defined coils. I prefer the finger method, but a comb can give you some solid results too!

If your curly hair recoils, it might be too dry. Use a good moisturizer and a light hold product to keep the curls in place.
How do you keep your hair from shrinking after using hair products?
Most products are going to cause shrinkage because most products number one ingredient is water.
You can avoid some of the shrinkage by;
- blow drying your hair before styling
- blow drying your hair after styling
- using the tension method

Gel can help enhance and define curls, but it’s not always necessary. Experiment with different products to find what works best for your hair.

Can you get finger coils with straight hair?
Finger coils work best on textured hair. With straight hair, it might be a challenge, but with the right products, you might achieve some results.

Shrinkage is real, especially with 4c hair. Oil and water can work wonders. Just make sure you’re also locking in that moisture!

I think why so many of find it frustrating is because those of us who have a different non existent curl pattern may try this to no avail.
It seems someone with a softer curl/coil pattern just do this with such ease. I’m natural and I’m not sure what “grade” my hair is.
When did people start using that terminology 4a, 4b, 4c etc?🤔
I’m 52 and this wasn’t the terms that were used back then. 😩
I personally think the hair community may have came up with that to keep others from being offended.😏
Natural hair has become big business but I am going to be honest it is not easy to maintain and we have to use multiple products in order to see what works best for us individually.
I’m sure most natural people have a gazillion products because we hope on the latest trend and these famous UA-camrs create a product and it may work for some and not for others.
When I had a pixie cut (which I miss very much)I didn’t purchase as many products or go through products as much.

My curls are 10+ inches and it's hard to do that. It doesn't coil when I do it. I wrap it around my finger then pull down and I repeat it till I reach the end. Also when I try to wrap it, it gets tighter and I can barely pull down so I have to be careful
You’ve got some serious length going on there, my guy! I hear you, working with longer hair can indeed be a whole different ball game.
