Hello, I have a few questions about coils 1. After you shower do I need to apply the products again or no 2. How long are the coils on until u needa recoil again 3. Should I wear a bonnet or a Durag when I’m going to sleep
When you follow these steps, your hair can last for days, up to a week or more with proper maintenance! Sleep on a satin or silk pillowcase. Think about it….if you wet your hair or shampooed your hair, you’d be undoing everything he does in this video. He even mentions this in the video…You do this once and it can last for days. I suggest you learn more and watch more videos like this.
Yo, coils can be a whole different ball game. • After a shower, you don’t necessarily need to reapply all the products, but maybe a refresher or some light moisturizer to keep them looking fresh. • The longevity of your coils depends on how well you maintain them and your hair type. They can last a good while if you’re taking care of them properly. • As for nighttime, I’d recommend a bonnet. It’s more gentle on the hair and helps maintain the shape of those coils better than a durag would. But again, see what works best for you!
At last, this is just about the most useful video l watched this evening. Thanks,am going to do exactly what you did. Last 3 weeks? This is what am looking for!

Nah, I don’t use shampoo and conditioner every single day. Overwashing can strip your hair of its natural oils. I usually just wet it, apply the products, and keep it moving. You gotta find what frequency works best for your hair though.

Props to you for diving into the curl world for your son! Consistency is indeed key. Hair types can be tricky to pin down sometimes, especially when there’s a mix going on. Just remember, it’s more about finding what works best for his unique texture. Keep encouraging him to embrace his natural hair. You’re doing an awesome job, and I’m thrilled my video could help!
This is by far the best curl video I've personally seen. Especially since your hair is so similar to mine. Question thought and I'm sorry if I'm late to this, but what is your overnight and morning after routine? I feel like the bonnet I use does nothing to protect my style and I wake up with this condensed half-afro//half-curl brick on top of my head. And when I try wetting it with a spray bottle or a curl reviving mousse, I end up undoing half the curls. Or should I just sleep standing up?
Yo, thanks for the love! Super stoked to hear the video resonated with you, especially given our hair twinning situation. Alright, let’s unpack this nighttime dilemma. I feel you on the bonnet struggles. The “condensed half-afro//half-curl brick” description? Man, I’ve been there. Here’s what I suggest to help keep those curls looking fresh: 1. Nighttime: If you’re using a cotton bonnet, consider switching to a silk or satin one. They’re less absorbent, meaning they won’t suck the moisture out of your hair. Plus, the smooth texture can help reduce friction and prevent frizz. 2. Pineapple Method: Even though you mentioned not using this method before, giving it another shot could help. Just gather your hair gently at the top of your head and secure it loosely with a soft scrunchie or hairband. 3. Morning Moves: In the morning, release your hair from the pineapple, give it a light shake to let those curls fall naturally. For any unruly strands, slightly dampen them with a spray bottle, apply a bit of your leave-in, and reshape. 4. Limit the Wetting: Avoid saturating your hair with a spray bottle or mousse. A light mist should suffice. And when using products, remember: gentle hands. Scrunching is your best friend here. Experiment and find what resonates best with your hair. Each curl journey is unique, and while there’s no one-size-fits-all solution, you’ll find your groove. Keep rocking those curls, my guy! Let me know how these tips work out for you.
Hey bro I appreciate the content. I’m a natural holistic type of individual. Is there anyways that I can achieve this using natural products or at least products that are minimally processed? Keep up the great work! Keep going and growing 💯🔥💪🏿✊🏿!
Thanks for the encouragement! You can definitely achieve great results using natural or minimally processed products. Look for options like shea butter, coconut oil, and aloe vera gel for moisture and definition.
When I sleep I wear my bonnet every night. For the morning routine, day 1 - 4 I use my hands & my pick to reshape my hair and fix any sides that are flat. Day 5 - 6 if I need to spritz it with water I’ll do that and shake. Day 7 spritz with water and add a smallll amount of product (the gel) if needed. Then wash out and repeat 🔁
Avoid getting it wet when showering, maybe wear a cap in the shower. You don’t have to repeat the process every day, if parts of your hair gets wet and strays frizzing out, then redo those parts. This style should last at least 4-5 days then you would wash your hair and repeat the entire process
Thanks man. Super helpful video 👍🏾 I’ve depended on my wife to style my hair (and she does a good job) but I wanted to learn how to do it myself. Didn’t even know where to start until I saw your video. Keep up the great work man.
Glad to hear the video was helpful! It’s great that you’re taking the initiative to learn and style your own hair. Keep experimenting and you’ll master it in no time.
Video helped alot. Tried out the twist conditoner and it works amazing! i just wish my hair would stop losing moisture overnight even with a bonnet. its so weird like my hair fr just ends up flat in the morning
It’s great that the twist conditioner worked well! To retain moisture overnight, try a different bonnet material or reapplying a light leave-in conditioner before bed.
Appreciate the tip! Also, how do you get your hair to stay moisturized the entire day? i follow your daily routine and my hair ends up drying up in about 4 hours.@itscarltonrose
Thanks for this video it was very helpful . But what to do with the curly hair when going to the shower? How is it possible to wash the hair without destroying the curls ?
Before showering, detangle your hair gently with a wide-tooth comb or fingers, and consider using a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner to maintain your curls’ integrity.
To minimize shrinkage, try stretching techniques like banding or twisting your hair while it dries. Also, using heavier leave-in conditioners or curl creams can weigh the hair down slightly, reducing shrinkage.
I have questions, does your hair go back to before after taking your bath?? Are you to comb it after making your hair curly, or if not what are you to do after taking your bath? Do you continuously do this everyday ?
After your routine, your hair should maintain its curl pattern until your next wash day. Avoid combing to preserve the curls, and repeat the routine as needed, typically once a week.
Heyyy ….. I did this routine w/all ur exact listed products & it came out great! Thanks fa the vid … But I Need to know how to maintenance it everyday. Do I use a sheen or wha should I do?
I would say about 3 to 4 months because ideally that’s when your curls will start to show their pattern. But when your hair is shorter it will be harder to style. You’ll have to use different techniques.
Carlton your fro is long here why are the curls not super long as well? I know they shrink up a little but ive seen dudes with curls around that length but their fros are a lot smaller?
@@itscarltonrose Yeah your right but idk I thought your curls would be super long dude. There's another guy on YT with your length and his curls come down to his nose. Why isn't his shrinking?

Hey Corey! Always wear your bonnet at night to keep your hair looking fresh & to help it last throughout the week! If your hair is a lot longer than mine section it off with scrunchies (about 4 sections will do). Then put on your bonnet. Listen, man, I feel you. Whether you’re sweating it out at the gym or getting caught in the rain, curls have a mind of their own. But with the right routine and some solid products, those curls can stay resilient. The key? Maintenance, my guy.
Definitely, fam! Even if your hair’s only down to your eyes, you can still rock some curls. The process might be a little different because of the length, but the techniques in my “Afro to curly hair” vid can still apply. Give it a try and see how it turns out!
That’s what I’m saying! Proud of you for sticking with it and seeing the results. Ain’t nothing like that feeling when you can shake those curls out. Keep it up, my guy!
Yes, if you’re using a regular conditioner that doesn’t say “you can leave it in” then you should always rinse it out. Why? Because some conditioners can clog your hair follicles if not rinsed out properly. That can cause hair problems.
You don’t have to shampoo every single time, especially if you have curly hair which tends to dry out easily. You can alternate with co-washing (using conditioner only) to maintain moisture. As for the white spots, it sounds like product buildup. Make sure you’re not using too much product and that you’re distributing it evenly.
Bruh, I feel you! Shaking those curls can be a workout in itself. But hey, that’s the price we pay for looking this lit. Just take it easy, and maybe give your neck a break now and then. No one said the curly journey was gonna be headache-free, right? Lol.
I have 4a/3c hair so I only know about 4b to 3c: 3c hair has large S shapes and is curly 4a also has an S shape but it’s smaller as it is more coily and less curly than 3c 4b is the same as 4b but with a zigzag and has more coils 4c I actually don’t know what’s going on with this hair type but put it simply it’s your typical Afro hair if it comes out the same after washing it
Hey I got a lot of hair that's really tangled and hard to work with. Should I cut it off and try growing it out again, or do you have a tutorial on how to keep my hair untangled/comb it out properly
hmmm what will cutting your hair off do? I suggest finding videos of people with similar hair/curl pattern/thickness/density and watching their routines and methods. Hair will never stay untangled. Try to find youtubers with similar hair to yours, see what products they use, see what methods they use and try them. It will take trial and error. What works for some may not work for you and that’s ok! That’s the natural hair journey! good luck. Thick hair does not have an easy solution. It takes time and patience. Learn how to love your hair. good luck
Before you think about cutting it off, let’s tackle that tangle. If your hair’s super tangled, consider a deep conditioning treatment first. It’ll soften things up. Then, while your hair’s damp and conditioned, start detangling. Work in sections, starting from the ends and moving up to the roots. Use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers. If you’re consistently facing this issue, it might be worth looking into a change in your routine or trying new products to keep those tangles at bay. Don’t give up on it just yet, bro!
Yes. And when you wake up, spray your hair with water (or you could use water mixed with conditioner) in a spray bottle, then either use your hands or a pick to gently pull your hair outwards to give it more volume. Wearing a bonnet is essential because it will prevent humidity which will make your hair go back to normal instead of staying curly.
No need for that relaxer, bro! Embrace those natural vibes. Remember, it's all about patience and finding what works for YOU. Stay true to those roots and keep rocking it with confidence! 👑🌀🔥
Hey! If you don't rinse out regular conditioner, it can dry up and leave residue on your scalp. Which might cause build up and a itchy head. It can sometimes even clog hair follicles.
You may have answered this already but I can’t find it in the comments. What do you do at night to maintain your curls so you don’t have to start over every morning? I do my son’s hair and it’s fine after styling, but in the morning 😫!
A satin or silk bonnet is a game-changer for preserving those curls overnight. Especially great for kids who might not stay perfectly still while sleeping. Pair the bonnet with the pineapple method and you’re basically setting those curls up for success come morning.
Absolutely, my guy! While I love the products I use, they ain’t the only game in town. It’s all about finding what works best for your hair type. If you’ve got shampoo and conditioner that you trust, roll with it. The key is to make sure they’re moisturizing and gentle on your hair. Experiment with different products available in your area until you find your golden combo. Remember, it’s more about technique and consistency than the specific brand. Stay dedicated and you’ll get those curls popping!
I would love to have my hair like this, is it ok to add a leave spray or cream before adding the styling gel, or curling cream? Which do you prefer, leave in spray or cream then the gel or no leave in spray or cream and just add styling gel or cream?
Great question! So, depending on your hair type and desired look, both leave-in sprays and creams can work. If you want lightweight hydration, go for a leave-in spray. For a bit more moisture and definition, a cream might be better. Then you can follow up with the styling gel or cream. Experiment with both and see what vibes best with your hair!👊🏽
You don’t have to blow dry your hair. You can let it air dry through the day. Nothing bad will happen. Just don’t ever go to bed with wet hair. It’s super bad for your hair
I believe my hair was around my eye level in this video. As for Eco Styler, I don’t love it or recommend it. It leaves my hair feeling dehydrated (super hard), and flaky.

Shampoo
Leave in conditioner
Gel
Then blow-dryer
Twist brand is slept on fr
Yo, that’s what I’m saying! Twist is legit, and more people need to hop on that wave! 🌊
I did the big chop in July. This method just saved my life❤❤❤❤❤
Awesome to hear that the method has made such a difference post-big chop!
I’ve been wanting my hair like this for years. Thanks for making this video!
how do u maintain the shrinkage omg thia style last me 1 day the next day i have to wer my hair all over again
Did you wear you bonnet at night?
You can air dry right? Cause ion have a blow drier
Yes! You can air dry, but depending on your hair type & length it can take hrs to dry 😭. Mine would take 8-10 hrs to air dry ⏳
Can anyone answer my question whenever I wear my hair curly I have a lot of shrinkage is there a way to prevent it from happening
To minimize shrinkage, try stretching techniques like banding or twisting your hair while it dries. Also, using heavier leave-in conditioners or curl creams can weigh the hair down slightly, reducing shrinkage.
@@itscarltonrose will give it a try thank you for the tip
I have questions, does your hair go back to before after taking your bath?? Are you to comb it after making your hair curly, or if not what are you to do after taking your bath? Do you continuously do this everyday ?
After your routine, your hair should maintain its curl pattern until your next wash day. Avoid combing to preserve the curls, and repeat the routine as needed, typically once a week.
Ayeee the first video💯🔥
Yeah fam! Let me know what you think of it 😁 and if it was helpful. But then again your a pro 🔥
Heyyy ….. I did this routine w/all ur exact listed products & it came out great! Thanks fa the vid … But I Need to know how to maintenance it everyday. Do I use a sheen or wha should I do?
How long your hair gotta be before you can start getting curls
I would say about 3 to 4 months because ideally that’s when your curls will start to show their pattern. But when your hair is shorter it will be harder to style. You’ll have to use different techniques.
This last for a entire week is crazzy
Imma try and tell you if it works for me
Nice! Keep me posted
@@itscarltonrose ight so my hair is short but it worked, at first it didn't seem like it was but I kept going as was shocked why I saw the results.
Carlton your fro is long here why are the curls not super long as well? I know they shrink up a little but ive seen dudes with curls around that length but their fros are a lot smaller?
Shrinkage my guy! It shows that you have healthy curls but the hair shrinks when it drys
@@itscarltonrose Yeah your right but idk I thought your curls would be super long dude. There's another guy on YT with your length and his curls come down to his nose. Why isn't his shrinking?
I have so much hair I’ll have to do this in sections and I’m gonna use a leave in
Working in sections and using a leave-in conditioner can help manage thick hair during styling.
Thank you
no ones talking about how claer this mans skin is like damn homiee you glowing brother
lol 😂 thank you brother 🙏🏽! I’ll drop a skincare routine for you my guy
Please what product do you use in growing your hair and how do you keep it healthy... mine are falling apart and it stop growing😢
Bro I followed you all the way from tiktok and wanted to say I love your videos! Keep it up brother
THANK YOU 🙏🏽!! I appreciate that so much
Will do 💯
What do you wear to sleep at night to keep it from waking up with bed hair?
can you do this technique without a hair dryer or won’t it work?
Yes it can be done without a blow dryer
@@itscarltonrose if i wanted the curls to be more hanging curls what would i need to do differently?
bro thanks sm for this tutorial! you're wayy to underrated fam❤
Please am i to apply everyday for it to curl or its a weekly routine
Weekly routine!
What do I do to maintain it throughout the week?

Wearing your bonnet to bed every night will make a huge difference.

Yes!
This is so helpful. Saving this for when my hair is a little more grown out.

How do you maintain it throughout the week? 🤔
Using this method for my daughters hair! Y’all have a very similar texture
Awesome! Similar texture means similar results. Let me know how it turns out for her!
Goat💯tried it after watching🫡
How do you sleep throught the night adter this without your hair getting messed up
Hey Corey! Always wear your bonnet at night to keep your hair looking fresh & to help it last throughout the week!
If your hair is a lot longer than mine section it off with scrunchies (about 4 sections will do). Then put on your bonnet. In the morning remove the scrunchies or hair ties, then reshape with your hands and shake your hair.
You can get a pack of scrunchies & bonnets on Amazon. I linked some down below 👇🏽

Do the curls stay even if you have to take multiple showers or workout during the week?
When you follow these steps, your hair can last for days, up to a week or more with proper maintenance! Sleep on a satin or silk pillowcase. Think about it….if you wet your hair or shampooed your hair, you’d be undoing everything he does in this video. He even mentions this in the video…You do this once and it can last for days. I suggest you learn more and watch more videos like this.
Listen, man, I feel you. Whether you’re sweating it out at the gym or getting caught in the rain, curls have a mind of their own. But with the right routine and some solid products, those curls can stay resilient. The key? Maintenance, my guy.
Thanks, y’all!
Brilliant method, just simple, hopefully this works for me👍
Simple methods can often have great results! Best of luck with your hair journey.
Does this still work when my hair only goes down to my eyes.
Definitely, fam! Even if your hair’s only down to your eyes, you can still rock some curls. The process might be a little different because of the length, but the techniques in my “Afro to curly hair” vid can still apply. Give it a try and see how it turns out!
@@itscarltonrose I have it comes out great and my hair grown a bit. Now I actually can shake my curls. Thanks
That’s what I’m saying! Proud of you for sticking with it and seeing the results. Ain’t nothing like that feeling when you can shake those curls out. Keep it up, my guy!
So if you dont use twist conditioner should you rinse it all out?
Yes, if you’re using a regular conditioner that doesn’t say “you can leave it in” then you should always rinse it out. Why? Because some conditioners can clog your hair follicles if not rinsed out properly. That can cause hair problems.
Ok but do you have to shampoo it first every time? And I think I made a mistake Bc there were white spots in different parts
Was wondering the same thanks
What should I do, if my hair gets curly, but still remains little but shaggy? I have type 4 hair(I don't know, how to differentiate a, b and c)
I don't have a blow dryer and I can't buy one so can I air dry?
Yes you can! If you have hair like mine it'll take a long time to air dry.
Thank you! My son is biracial and i had no clue how to help him with his hair.
So glad that this video was able to help! Keep me posted on how it goes and let me know if you have any follow up questions 🙏🏽
if i use a regular conditioner, will i have to use a leave in before i use the styling product?
A regular conditioner can be good, but a leave-in will give you that extra moisture-lock before styling. Kinda like a pre-game pep talk for your hair.
Can you make a video on how to use curl cream ?? Plz
Bet! I got you
Do you want to know how to style your hair to look curly with it?
Or how to do protective styles with curl cream?
@@itscarltonrose yea for sure my g ❤️
Thank you fam trying this tonight!
Np! Keep me posted on how it goes. If you get stuck don’t hesitate to reach out. Here to help 🙏🏽
How did it go?
Thanks for the content, i have curls and don't know who else but I literally get headaches just from shaking my head 😂
Bruh, I feel you! Shaking those curls can be a workout in itself. But hey, that’s the price we pay for looking this lit. Just take it easy, and maybe give your neck a break now and then. No one said the curly journey was gonna be headache-free, right? Lol.
How do i know which hair type i have?
Tell me papi
Compare vids and pics of different hair types to your hair and determine which you closely associate with
I have 4a/3c hair so I only know about 4b to 3c:
3c hair has large S shapes and is curly
4a also has an S shape but it’s smaller as it is more coily and less curly than 3c
4b is the same as 4b but with a zigzag and has more coils
4c I actually don’t know what’s going on with this hair type but put it simply it’s your typical Afro hair if it comes out the same after washing it
Basically look at the shapes your hair makes when you stretch it to the point where there’s a clear shape, don’t stretch it too far
The best video ever man. Thank you ❤
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback 🙏🏽.
Also your welcome 🔥!
If I did this routine at night. How would I style it in the morning?
Ahh. When I get lid. I’m getting everything u used and trying this. 19 years in my life. And still don’t know how to curl my frizz lol
Exploring different products and techniques can help you find the best way to define your curls.
So what should you do if your bout to go to sleep with the curls in? Do I put on a bonnet??
Love the video bro. but whats the background music
How long before u wash out the chemicals from hair. Hence losing curls
How are you supposed to sleep to make it last all week? I've seen a lot of people wear scunchies in a bonnet. But what's your take?
Im not him, but in my opinion i would say use a bonnet
I was just about to relax my hair!! Thanks king
I'm trying to determine if his hair is texturized or not. As I can't get the same results with mine 😅
No need for that relaxer, bro! Embrace those natural vibes. Remember, it's all about patience and finding what works for YOU. Stay true to those roots and keep rocking it with confidence! 👑🌀🔥
What do you do when sleeping
To protect my hair while sleeping, I use a bonnet.
Wake up at 4 am to be ready at 7am lol 😂😂 really good video!!
Lol 😂! Thanks 🙏🏽
After doing this. Do you cover your hair when you’re having a bath?
Yup. You need a shower cap to make it last
3:05 Why can't I keep a bit of normal Conditioner in my hair?
Is this the only products that make your hair curling?
Absolutely, my guy! While I love the products I use, they ain’t the only game in town. It’s all about finding what works best for your hair type. If you’ve got shampoo and conditioner that you trust, roll with it. The key is to make sure they’re moisturizing and gentle on your hair. Experiment with different products available in your area until you find your golden combo. Remember, it’s more about technique and consistency than the specific brand. Stay dedicated and you’ll get those curls popping!
I need to grow an Afro to get curls it’s taking forever
Growing an Afro takes time and patience, just keep nurturing your hair.
Where is the video about how to wrap that up/sleep with that hair style?
No need for wrapping here, just a good old bonnet at night for protection. Keeps the curls safe while we catch those Z's. 🌙
Question do you have to dry your hair and if you don't what's the consequences
You don’t have to blow dry your hair. You can let it air dry through the day. Nothing bad will happen. Just don’t ever go to bed with wet hair. It’s super bad for your hair
Hi i had a few questions. 1. how long is your hair in this video? 2. is ecostyler olive oil good too? thanks!
I believe my hair was around my eye level in this video. As for Eco Styler, I don’t love it or recommend it. It leaves my hair feeling dehydrated (super hard), and flaky.
