Thank you sir. I did not, however, hear anything about these scopes being able to take the recoil of a spring or gas piston airgun. The first one (Vantage) is a great little scope and I have one on one of my Trail NPs, but the bigger 4-12x50 Vantage lasted about 3 months on my Hatsan 155. Hawke replaced it but recommended only their Airmax and Sidewinder scopes for spring piston guns. I'd love to see a review on some less expensive scopes for springers. Thank you again. Your videos are appreciated.
@Bill Cooper Yeah, I had a Swift 3-9x40 on my .444 and frankly, I'd never buy another one unless something major has changed. I was not impressed at all with that scope for the price (the gun and scope were a gift) and I soon took it off and replaced it with a Leupold. That may be the only scope I've ever owned that I don't remember what happened or where it went. I think I trashed it. I wonder if Swift has had to replace enough to change their mind yet ?? A lot of companies that were touting "Springer rated" back five years ago have changed their tune. I personally have had very good luck with UTG, and no, I'm not a UTG fan, but out of 10 UTG scopes on springers, I've broken one (3-9x32) on a tuned 31 FPE Hatsan .30 cal. I also own six more ultra-magnum tuned 30 FPE Hatsans that (all but one) have UTGs on them, some with over 1500 shots. I have yet to break a UTG on a "regular magnum" springer like the NP, NP2, or Walther Parrus. I still have never broken a Leupold (knock on wood) no matter what they've been on. Thanks Bill.
Joe, which of these would you recommend for a Springer? Just bought a Weihrauch hw97k and am looking at the Hawke Airmax scope because it seems time tested, but the Arken 4x14 scope looks interesting for a bit more cash.
Yep. I have 2 of the Airmax Compact SF. Absolutely brilliant. With no mounts or flip covers in the box they can work out a little more expensive on paper than the competition, but in the UK especially you can get better deals on them. 👍
After watching this... I'm now thinking buying the Feyachi Falcon 1-4x24 for my berra 1200g was a mistake? I can't find anything on google about putting that scope on an air rifle. I figured if I put on a scope that could handle 30 30, that Feyachi Falcon 1-4x24 would handle gas piston air rifle and hold zero maybe not??.... I guess time will tell.... Thanks for the tips and reviews!! will be looking at some thesem but really only want to spend $150 on air rated rifle scope...
Just bought a tx200 ordered Leupold 3x9 EFR with it but I want more. What would you put on it? At the 1000 750 and 500 price point. Thanks and keep up the great work. I found a forge for 460.00 will it live? If not will they replace it? I like it should i pull the trigger?
I bought my first air gun yesterday. Gamo Mach 1 in a 22 cal. I need some help choosing a scope. I see here that some are 3x9x40 and 4x14x44 then 5x25x50 and so on. What is the idea size to put on that Mach 1? I want to buy a nice scope like the Arken but I don't know what the ideal size is. I'm not that concerned with the cost. Most of my shooting is just target practicing in my back yard. I have about a 100 yard long practice area for shooting.
I have broken leupolds bushnell redfield etc etc on springer air rifles, even leupold told me to, and I quote "to not use their scopes on a air gun" I can also see several of these other scopes breaking easily on a springer because they are not designed for the duel/reverse recoil that springers can have, also surprised you didnt mention the most popular air rifle scope being the Bug Buster built on the TS system by Leapers. I love your vids but a better title for this video would of been best PCP/Pump air gun scopes, because i'll bet you money I can break most of these scopes you listed within 100 shots on my springers.
Yeah I don't even bother listing " Springer rated " any longer because the scope companies get a bunch in that won't handle it and tben they change their minds
100% correct. I can say tho that the Arken SH4 has held up extremely well on my TX200 MKIII .22. I have bought 3 EP4 MOA SHR so far one on my .22 Crown Cont 700mm slug liner and .25 Impact MKII 700 mm slug liner and on my poly barreled HMX LRT .22 all wearing the EP4 and in super impressed for 600 bucks. So i bought a 4-14x44 SH4 to see how it held up to a springer. My TX is 16.5ftlbs with 15.89s and super duper smooth so yes it's on a platform that is about as smooth and low recoil as a 17ftlb Springer can be but a springer non the less. I will say this My Leupold 3-9 EFR would wonder on that gun, it wore a SWFA fixed 10x and that scope held zero on it with zero issues BUT i hate the rear parallax adjustment so it had to go and for 350 bucks the Arken was worth a try worst that could happen is the zero wonder and i would throw it on a .25 Gaunlet and give it to my Nephew. Well it worked amazingly well on that gun. Now for the bad part, i got a Sig ASP .22 for a Bday gift a while back and decided throw a scope on it last week and i like the Arken and so took it off the TX and put it on the ASP after I shoot about 300 rounds to break it in (no scope on it just cheap crosman lead and cock and shoot until it really settled down then i threw the scope on it) the gun has a real quick/sharp shot cycle with a fair bit of recoil but pleasant to shoot for a gun making 22.3ftlbs with Air Arms/JSB 16g but shot them VERY WELL. The SH4 was wondering, at 20y during a 20 shot group there was literally 4 different groups. The wondering was as much as 3/8ths inch between groups. The gun kicked it's ass BUT hurt the scope in no way. I put it back on the TX zeroed and ran about 150 shots and she's perfect. I have put 4 scopes on the ASP20 and found that the SWFA fixed 10, Leupold 3-9EFR and Nikon EFR and the SH4 described above will NOT hold zero the all wonder on that gun with the Nikon wondering the least. The scope that is on it now I installed yesterday and shot about 200 shots today and it's holding solid is a Swift Optics 4-12x40 CS (reinforced ret and coil spring system) in case you didn't know Swift optics makes some extremely good scopes for the money and the 4-12x40CS has stood up to the hardest recoiling springers I've ever used. I have two one i bought about a year ago the other I've had for about 10 years. I knew this scope would handle the ASP no issues so i put it on it and sure enough it's perfect. The other i have is on a HW97 thats been swapped to a custom gas ram and making 22ftlbs with 21.14 Baracuda match so as you can expect it's a brute that is super touchy/hold sensitive and extremely violent on scopes and mounts for that matter we use a 6 bolt droop rail plus the scope stop to keep the rail from moving and the Swift CS holds zero like a boss on that gun. Optically the SH4 is slightly better then the Swift and the swift is a duplex (gags) so i would love if the SH4 would hold zero on it as it has an extremely nice mil based ret. The Swift tracks well tho so ill make a turret tape from 10 to 75y so i can just dial in the solution (i prefer to dial elevation and hold off for windage when shooting really long ranges with powder burners or PCPs alike but on springers i prefer to not touch the turrets once it's zeroed and holds that zero but in this case i have no choice unless I want it to be just a 10 to 30y bench gun... And that's not what i have in mind for it.) Shit this was a lot or talking about scopes and springerz. Hopefully this will help someone out tho. If you have a smooth shooting sub 12 to mid power Springer that doesn't kick like a mule (any high quality Springer in the 15 to 17ftlbs range or less ) the SH4 from what i have seen will work perfectly and hold zero no problem. If you have a springer that just destroys scopes and zero holding is a joke... Get you a Swift Optics 4-12x40 CS model and thank me later. I honestly believe there isn't a springer made that will cause that scope to wonder.
Bought a cheap ao focus discovery for my tx200. It's so small, can load it up well. Accurate. And its lasting well. And it's cheap . On my walther century I've got a hawk no adjustable parallax, wide angle lens. Again cheap and cheerful but it holds up well.
Hi my friend , glad to see your doing good. Wish I would have see your channel before I wasted all my money on bullshit scopes . I keep learning more and more every video . Thank you for your time and knowledge . Respect . Please keep sharing with us and stay safe and healthy . "Deeds not words "
Hi Joe, what's your best of the best variable power air rifle scope for 2021? I see this review is for 2020. I had a look at the SSFW SS 3-15x42 tactical, but none for sale new anywhere. So.. Any suggestions?
Just received a Genesis 4x14x44 FFP MIL from Blackhound. Best place I have ever done business with; can't the service. Do you have an opinion on this scope?
Hey Joe, ( I know you are not a big vortex fan ) but what do you think about Vortex Viper HS-T ? It's a long range version of viper HS for about the same price as the bushnell forge
Joe, if you had a FX impact mk2 on .357 cal. What scope would you put on? Mainly hunting. I’m looking for practical, clear view and tank built like. Thanks
I noticed you mentioned several scopes in your video that don't have a link below. It would be nice if they were there in the order you mentioned them.
Joe I'm confused, you had posted a video a while back saying that the Hawke sidewinder tactical 6.5-20x42 was the best scope you had tested, do you still consider it a great one, or it didn't resist the test of time? I am asking you cause I was about to pull the trigger on that one, but now I came across this new video of yours, which is great and all, but not sure anymore if I would be making the right decision. Please let me know what you think, I appreciate the great content you bring forward in your channel. Thanks.
It did NOT stand the test of time . It went to crap less than 6 months after that video was made . I need to delete it like I did the Discovery scopes videos
@@CyclopsJoeVideos Wow. Thank God I came across this video Joe. I almost purchased that scope today. Time to reevaluate. Thanks for the quick response, highly appreciated.
Good Video. Looking to buy a Scope for a Air Gun 22 cal . I thought it has to be a True air gun scope or it wound not last. Was told air guns destroy regular scopes ? Noticed scopes in this video are regular type of Scopes ? Thanks if you could set me straight...
Hi, Let me help you here, there is not a problem if you use them on a PCP airgun, unless is a really bad quality scope, the problem is if you use it on springers airguns, they tend to impose forces that normally are not supported by them.
Joe, honestly I've become over saturated watching and reading too many scope reviews, I just want a decent sub $500.00 scope for my Air Arms S510. Recommendations?
Hugely entertaining dialogue and the usual informative, too. “Like a skinny girl with a fat ass, … gotta love it.” You got that right, Brother! 😜 Grace and Peace 😊
Hello Joe Have you tried the new hawke frontier with zero stop? Please give it a try if you haven't. I would love to see your opinion on it after you test it.
I didn't see the Weaver (800363) Tactical Scope - 3-15X50 on the list?? If I'm not mistaken I could have swore on one of your older videos you said it was one of your top favorite and I can't find the video now though.
@@CyclopsJoeVideos would you still recommend it as one of your top 3 scoops for air rifles also do you think it can stand up to a Magnum break barrel (germen)
when you say air rifle are you specifically talking about pcp? because vortext, and i could only assume others, dont even make scopes rated for break barrels.
Hello Joe One scope I have been tempted to buy ( Party due to your good review ) is the Vector Taurus 3x18x50, I get that you can not put every scope you rate into these "best" videos, But may I ask, Have YOU any other reason It did not make your/this list. thanks as always.
Out of the scopes in the video listed what would be your top 3 you would use for a Magnum springer, I can't help it I just love Magnum springers!! I could afford any air gun I want but there's just something nostalgic and fun about shooting a powerful break barrel , that I don't get from any other air rifle. I just wish somebody made a scope that could withstand the double recoil , Ive spent thousands on scopes and I just want to find good one
Bushnell Engage vs Primary Arms SLx? The 2.5-15X50 engage has my eye, but the SLx (4-14x44) is a tad cheaper (by about 100$), Will be putting it on a 25cal AirVenturi Avenger once it arrives.
this a great video but i am looking for a good scope for my marauder woods walker. i want to shoot it as a pistol that is what i bought it for. i would appreciate your suggestion on this subject. thank you
Great info, I appreciate everything you do. Can you please try the utg leapers scopes and let us know your opinion. They are $100-$150 with a lifetime warranty

What is the idea size to put on that Mach 1? I want to buy a nice scope like the Arken but I don't know what the ideal size is. I'm not that concerned with the cost. Most of my shooting is just target practicing in my back yard. I have about a 100 yard long practice area for shooting.
I would go with the Bushnell AR 3-9
Great video !
And that's not what i have in mind for it.)
Shit this was a lot or talking about scopes and springerz.
@@EDCandLace Same experience here Lacy, very good info and thank you, I will look into the swift optics.
Bought a cheap ao focus discovery for my tx200. It's so small, can load it up well. Accurate. And its lasting well. And it's cheap . On my walther century I've got a hawk no adjustable parallax, wide angle lens. Again cheap and cheerful but it holds up well.
I just ordered my first springer, got a hatsan 135 qe sniper , .30. What scope you think will hold up on it and if possible under $300
Hi my friend , glad to see your doing good.
Man the one I use most is my Leupold mark ar 4-12
Awesome review subscribed 😂
Great video thank you for doing it
Just received a Genesis 4x14x44 FFP MIL from Blackhound. Best place I have ever done business with; can't the service. Do you have an opinion on this scope?
Oh hell yeah !! I have one on my 3006
Cool video! Some good choices in there. Late entry for 2020 contender has to be the Vortex Strike Eagle, 5-25×56 FFP 34mm for $699.
Yeah man ,I gotta get my hands on one of those
Hey Joe, ( I know you are not a big vortex fan ) but what do you think about Vortex Viper HS-T ? It's a long range version of viper HS for about the same price as the bushnell forge
I would pick the Forge , the Vortex is nice . The Bushnell is Great
Joe, if you had a FX impact mk2 on .357 cal. What scope would you put on? Mainly hunting. I’m looking for practical, clear view and tank built like. Thanks
Honestly the Arken EP4 or the Bushnell Match Pro. Both are killer scopes that do everything without breaking the bank
I noticed you mentioned several scopes in your video that don't have a link below.
It would be nice if they were there in the order you mentioned them.
Joe I'm confused, you had posted a video a while back saying that the Hawke sidewinder tactical 6.5-20x42 was the best scope you had tested,
do you still consider it a great one, or it didn't resist the test of time? I am asking you cause I was about to pull the trigger on that one,
but now I came across this new video of yours, which is great and all, but not sure anymore if I would be making the right decision.
You are more than welcome
SWFA SS 10X , Blackhound 6-24 ,Athlon. Midas Tac , Bushnell Nitro ...Those would be tips on my list
Another great video Joe! Thanks. How about a video showing the WORST Air rifle scopes?
That'll be fun !!!
@Bill Cooper CENTER POINT!
Happy Easter
Thanks Joe. What do you think of the Discovery VT-3 3x12x44 ffp compact scope?
I like the Tac Vector Veyron much Better
I own a Hawke Airmax 30 3-12 x 50 and like it, gets the job done just fine. Kind of wish I got a fixed power one though ...
Hi !!What do you think of the Hawke vantage 4x16x44 !! With side focus??
It’s a GREAT budget scope !
I have the 3-15 swfa ffp and I love it but I do have a Element Titan on the way
I can't wait to check out that scope in person
Hugely entertaining dialogue and the usual informative, too. “Like a skinny girl with a fat ass, … gotta love it.” You got that right, Brother! 😜
Grace and Peace 😊
Hello Joe
Have you tried the new hawke frontier with zero stop? Please give it a try if you haven't. I would love to see your opinion on it after you test it.
Can you run a Nikon prostaff Rimfire .22 4-12X40 BDC 150 on a Gamo Coyote or Gamo Urban PCP rifle ?
Absolutely
Is the tac vector Veyron or Bushnell engage spring air gun rated?
I think both are . But the companies change that form time to time
I didn't see the Weaver (800363) Tactical Scope - 3-15X50 on the list?? If I'm not mistaken I could have swore on one of your older videos you said it was one of your top favorite and I can't find the video now though.
It's no longer in production
@@CyclopsJoeVideos would you still recommend it as one of your top 3 scoops for air rifles also do you think it can stand up to a Magnum break barrel (germen)
Ur awesome thank u have kickass evening and bless you!!!!
when you say air rifle are you specifically talking about pcp? because vortext, and i could only assume others, dont even make scopes rated for break barrels.
Yeah man it sucks there are so few anymore
Vortex crosfire II 3-9x40 for magnum springerso or hawke vantage 3-9x40 IR
Hello Joe
One scope I have been tempted to buy ( Party due to your good review ) is the Vector Taurus 3x18x50, I get that you can not put every scope you rate into these "best" videos, But may I ask, Have YOU any other reason It did not make your/this list.
thanks as always.
No man , I don't . I just didn't want to list like 5 of their scopes ..I could have for PA , Bushnell , TacV and a couple others
@@CyclopsJoeVideos As I thought Joe.
Thank you.
do we get a new 2022 airgun scope pick
Man I haven’t been testing Airgun gear much lately
Out of the scopes in the video listed what would be your top 3 you would use for a Magnum springer,
I can't help it I just love Magnum springers!! I could afford any air gun I want but there's just something nostalgic and fun about shooting a powerful break barrel , that I don't get from any other air rifle. I just wish somebody made a scope that could withstand the double recoil , Ive spent thousands on scopes and I just want to find good one
Bushnell AR , Leupold efr 3-9 , Clearidge 3-9
@@CyclopsJoeVideos Thanks Brother!
Hey Joe, what are your thoughts on Meopta scopes?
Absolutely AWESOME scopes . But haven't tested any of the new ones yet
Bushnell Engage vs Primary Arms SLx?
The 2.5-15X50 engage has my eye, but the SLx (4-14x44) is a tad cheaper (by about 100$), Will be putting it on a 25cal AirVenturi Avenger once it arrives.
SLX is the better buy for sure
Way to kick ass. Good video. Hope all is well my friend. Say hello to Bella.👍🇺🇲🇺🇲✌
this a great video but i am looking for a good scope for my marauder woods walker. i want to shoot it as a pistol that is what i bought it for. i would appreciate your suggestion on this subject. thank you
Hmmm Maybe a Primary Arms Cyclops ! That's a killer pistol/rifle scooe
Joe, I’d like to see you recommendations for higher power scopes. Scope with at least 40x or more.
I don't have enough experience with that high a mag scope to offer any tips . Sorry
Are these scopes any good for break barrel springers?
Most are
Lmao, the look on the blokes face when you done the nipple twister on the last scope. He was looking at you with a face of wtf are you doing!! 🤣😂🤣
Primary is in Texas? I'm in. Joe, would you happen to know who makes those mag holders on that Taipan?
Yep they are in Houston . I think Darko on AGN makes them
ua-cam.com/users/ddarkfly
ALL GOOD.
Great info, I appreciate everything you do. Can you please try the utg leapers scopes and let us know your opinion. They are $100-$150 with a lifetime warranty
I have tried them many times ...And have always been disappointed in them . I know they have a lot of fans ....But I've yet to have a good one . So I gave up
@@CyclopsJoeVideosBeen watching your scope reviews for a while now and i thank you for putting up not so known scopes on the map.like most people on a budget i try to find quality optics at a good price .Always looking for deals ive bought scopes on amazon, ebay and the forums and been lucky ,bushnell to hawkes and others. But i have to say there is one particular scope that comes to mind ive had the pleasure of buying quite a few is barra optics .Barra has several lines but the keepers are the japanese made Ft and MP lines made in japan the FT lines are made in the same factory as the riton older 7 model scopes.Did research and those barra and upper older riton scope are made from the same scope manufacturers that made the old hakko scopes.Check out ebay sometimes you may find the FT hero scopes dirt cheap those are good quality scopes also stay away from the h30,h50,h20 scopes those are chinese .Also look on Amazon you will see these FT/MP scopes are up there in price .Thanks and appreciate the good reviews you've saved me a ton of money.
@@CyclopsJoeVideos Riton RT-S Mod 7 4-20x50mm and all the mod 7 older riton scope are made in the same japanese factory as the Ft model barra scopes, the killer is on a good day scouting on ebay you might get a deal .Ive bought the barra hero ft 5x25x50 sfp mildot that retails for $1000 for less than $300 on ebay .On a auction bought one for $125.
Cyclops Videos I trust your input, I really appreciate the reply.
Will they work with a springer?
About half will
Joe, just updating my list of scopes to recommend and noticed that you said the Riton was a Second Focal Plane scope when there's a parallax adjustment knob and lacks the adjustable objective seen on other SFP scopes. Oops?
Lol, my bad . But they do have some SFP scopes
I hit the thumbs up before the video even starts. These damn advertisements. LOL but it's good to see them on your video brother.
Im looking for a good scope for a .22 air arms s510 xs ultimate sporter. Its a precision rifle but I got a lynx 4x40 on it now. But this scope makes me shoot too left or too right or up or down. Whats the best option. I dont care for paying over $1000
Any of the scopes in this video would be a great choice
Cyclops Videos Joe W Rhea ok thank you
Hey, what's that airgun in the thumbnail? I looks sooper cool!
That's an Edgun Leshiy
Hey Joe, where can I find that Athlon Talos for $200? I only found it as low as $300
Check Optics planet and midway . You should be able to get it there or eBay . I know I paid just under $200 new
What cab you say about the Bushnell Match pro for PCP airguns
Five hundred bucks I'm buying one
Hi Joe! Again a great video. Just wonder why the Hawke Airmax is not with it. This one is specially for airguns.
I just feel there are better scopes for the money
I just got a Hawke airmax 30 ffp sf 6-24x50 AMX Ir and it’s better than a couple on here, that I tried them against.
Joe what's your thoughts on 2.5×10×44 ffp deploy redical for pcp pellet gun .
That would be a badass . My engage sits on a Maruder and never misses a beat
Thanks for the reply they are on sale at natchez for 219.00 felt like good deal fell on it like a hobo on a ham sandwich thanks.

What would you recommend for my ASP20 .177
Bushnell ar series
Thanks but I need a 30mm tube. I called bushy and they flat out told me they don’t have any springer rated optics. I’m still looking.
Will they break if I put em on gamo magnum gen 2 ?
Possibly

Gotcha
Those are some badass scopes I've been looking for a good one I have ordered a scope I won't brag on it yeah I haven't got it yet in the mail he he he
Where can I learn about and the "how to" when it comes to forums ?
AGN has a forum FAQ section . I'm not sure about others . That's the main one I frequent
Riton 4-20x50 hard to find
Riton 4-20x50 found one site saying $700 and out of stock. I WISH it was $500
Joe, do you collect Air Rifles?
No I don't ..As a matter of fact I only own one at the moment . I'm not in a spot financially to have a collection of anything like that . I buy used a lot , play with it a while and swap for another gun . That way I can play with a lot of them
