I actually ordered a couple of HH cookbooks on E-Bay awhile back thinking they would make great covers for a couple of journals. I should have asked more questions or been less in a hurry to buy...when they arrived they turned out to be about a 5x7" size and only had blank pages inside. :-/ Not what I had envisioned in my mind, that's for sure! Live and learn, right? I will probably just construct the size(s) I need from other covers or chipboard. I hope you can get to your HH journal soon. I would love to see what you make! Diane Shaw and Gina Johnson both make lovely HH journals which kind of gave me the "bug". ;-)

It's funny, because back in the day I couldn't afford their stamps. Now I own quite a few from finding them in thrift stores. They really are quality stamps and have the best images, I think. And you are welcome for the devotional. :-)

Hi... just found your channel!! Love the content!!! My dad passed 22 yrs ago... Some days feel like it was yesterday...Abt the first thing I did was to make a scrapbook of his family...It seemed to help me grieve and try and live without him...Because of our mutual love of Geneology it just seemed to be the right thing to do...I believe that many people had done the Scrapbook thing, I had never heard of it at the time...I has abt everything we had gathered.. birth death marriage certificates.. pictures of weddings..basically anything I could get my hands on relating to his side of the family...Someday I will get it copied and give it to those who want it... And when I am no more... all my Geneology will be donated to the local Historical Society... And it is a lot!!!.. Back to the Mayflower and beyond...So I completely understand how your Scrapbook helped you in the grieving process...Thanks for sharing!!!😻👩🏻🦰
Thank you for sharing your story, Lynnette. Yes, going through all of the photos and thinking of happy times helped me process my grief in what I think was a healthy way. Of course I miss my dad every day in one way or another, but I was able to move forward in a more positive frame of mind by getting my memories down right away.
On another note, I'm curious to know who your ancestor on the Mayflower was. I have one too!

@Lara Fuller Earth and Art It sounds lovely! From what I've seen of Wales it resembles Idaho in a lot of ways. I've recently learned that my ancestry is mostly English, Scottish, Welsh, and Irish. One day I hope to have seen all of the regions of the UK. There's such a variety of landscape over such a small area. 😁 My brother and family live in Scotland so we had the opportunity to visit them in 2012. We've been eager to return ever since!

If you’re curious, it’s similar to Dutch, although that would spell “Mijn eerste tweetalig woordenboek” with a different pronunciation on the vowels (I’m Dutch and have an African friend. We always find it funny that we can mostly understand what we write in our native language 😁)
I studied German (long ago) which was of no help to me trying to decipher this title. 🤣 I'm really getting interested in life in Holland, Denmark, etc. I've been watching the series "Borgen" on Netflix and learning lots about life and politics in Denmark. It's a challenge keeping up with the storyline and subtitles. 💕
Life in Holland (I’m from the Flanders, the Dutch part of Belgium) doesn’t compare at all with life in Germany or Denmark. It all fascinates me as well, would love to live everywhere for a couple years and learn the language and habits. Although the Netherlands and the Flanders in Belgium both speak Dutch, even here, there are enough little differences. 2 of my closest friends live in the Northern part of the Netherlands and it sure is a different country. Beautiful too.
But all Scandinavian Countries fascinate me so much!

@@leenb.7936 I would love to try living in lots of different places too. It would be fun and interesting to experience different cultures and viewpoints. I think it's valuable to learn about life and customs in other parts of the world and even in other parts of the same country. It's so educational. I'm thankful my parents traveled with us every summer. I've got the "bug"! 😃

Me too! I have a huge batch in my garden right now that I desperately need to harvest. I remember reading in a gardening book the author calling rhubarb "Nature's Spring tonic" because it gives a good dose of vitamin C which we all need in the Spring. Your camera was not pointed toward your items it was on the box you might want to pull the camera back, it was zoomed in too close to your items. Watch this video on UA-cam and you will see that your camera is way too close. I am a new subscriber
Hi Karen, thank you for your suggestions. I had a weird set-up when I filmed this video so I couldn't see the camera to tell if I was in frame. Happily I have a better filming set-up now. It's so goofy to me that YT promotes this one when I have better looking videos out there. 🤣 At 8:01 I pull the box away and it is easier to see what I'm showing. Hopefully you will enjoy watching some of my later haul videos where the filming is better. (Here's a secret: I have another one airing next week.) 😁 Thanks for watching! 💕

I know, it gets better when I move the box at around 8:00. It's so weird because this is the video that YT keeps promoting, it kind of makes me cringe inside. 😂 My later hauls are MUCH better after I had a better setup for filming, so I hope you will watch them too. You're right, Dorothy, they're not. I know it sounded like that's what I said, but I actually said "stinky". As in "little stinkers". If you've watched my channel very much you should know that I would never call a child stupid, especially as I spent 12 years working with children in an elementary setting.
