I'd love to see more of this style of gameplay! Air superiority is obviously an important part of Star Citizen but with boarding increasingly viable and more and more strategically important locations made planetside, marine gameplay is going to get bigger and bigger. Bring on Battlefield: Star Citizen! Hoorah.
It was also nice to see something besides an FS-9 being used as a primary. Right now that gun has a bit too much going for it and needs a nerf to make other weapons more worthwhile to use.
This was a great Op, the first round was our best, the two of us set to flank, ran into your rear guard and got some quick downs but your squad did a great job of recovering and keeping your numbers up. Only gameplay issue was that the down markers indicated where we were, you can see it in the first round before A1 goes down and then the second round when myself and Kadin were holding the hallway in 3rd person either side. But it's clear that wasn't used as an advantage at the time. Great use of cover and pulling bodies in on your teams side. Learnt loads and had lots of fun, lets do that again! Cheers o7
This looks like so much fun!! Would be nice if CIG made in-PU events like this, which should be available all the time, where people get to participate in teams with a minimum number of participants for the match to start. This is how I'd imagine would fit in the current PU with mostly existing techs, kinda like a Battlefield squad-deathmatch: - The mission shows up in Priority category - There are 2 phases, "prepare" to wait for the minimum requirement to be met, then "battle" starts - It'd need at least 4 players and 2 squads to start, with up to 16 players per squad - Players have options to create or join squads, squad leader can lock squad, invite or remove members - Objective can be killing a certain amount of enemies or capture points and hold them for a duration - Use of vehicles and squad spawn points would depend on the random location of the event, can be different each time, would be nice if we had massive caves with multiple entrances so we can deploy tonks but cannot fly in there comfortably.
I think having them as random events around the PU that send a beacon to anyone within a certain number of km. Board, fight some pirates or system security. It would lend a lot of life to a currently lifeless game. And I mean lifeless in the context of August 2023 patch 3.19 and player interaction.
In situations like this, I tend to call myself The Target or The Distraction since I tend to roll heavy in Pembroke gear. Though I'm usually also packing a Demeco or F55 and GP-33 and take point to sweep and clear : )
Great video! great pvp.... But i would love to see the "Drag Body" mechanics in action while other teammates send some cover fire... the Multitool tractor beam turns everything "too easy"
This is why real armies separate into fireteams with clear chains of command and separate lines of comms; squad leaders talk up and down to command, individual squads only talk amongst themselves and to their leader.
Any organization above a hundred requires good command and control to function at all, but the longer and more complex that chain gets the less efficient it becomes. There are studies about the the ratio of ineffectiveness vs inefficiency, this is why huge organizations suffer. But efficiency isn't the only meaningful metric, obviously it's still better to have an army of 10000 at your call at half efficiency than a thousand at nine tenths efficiency.
It will be exciting to see how the strategy changes with engineering being able to mount indirect defences, like shutting down doors or grav generation or any number of things, and how the assault team might handle those compications. Maybe pump the atmo in occupied locations with lethal concentrations of oxygen to make oxycutters dangerously volatile so that interior doors cannot be cut open safely. Don't know if CIG will actually implement that kind of reaction, but it is fun to think about.
Good showing, love to see some organized FPS stuff. The movements are really quite a joy to watch, could use with some more separation and angle watching at all times, but with the sheer issues with desync I am sure a lot of that is down to well that. Comms need work though. Some suggestions: Names and I and such are something you do not want to use on comms if at all possible. Ideally what you do is create a squad and fireteam structure and number those. Those numbers would also then match a given role in a situation. Say for example Bravo 5 and Bravo 6 would be designated grenadiers for a boarding operation. Bravo 4 and Bravo 7 could be designated medics, yes everyone can medic and everyone can shoot, but by having people who focus on this, allows others to focus on their job. For comms you would end up with callouts such as "4 stacking left." At this point there is no need for a Bravo, Charlie etc designation as this callout would be made to the squad alone and you want comms are short as possible. The Bravo callout could be used by a squad leader to another squad leader (ideally on a separate comms channel), say for example, "Bravo 3, 6 and 7 are dead, we are regrouping in engineering." This would give the other squad leader(s) a clear picture of the state and location of bravo squad knowing that say, 3 is a rifleman, 6 is a grenadier and 7 was a medic. At the same point Bravo if having a moment can reorganize, if they feel a second grenadier is needed some one else can be assigned the role and number. All in all it takes some getting used to and well training a fair bit of it, but you end up with a very clear structure in your formations and comms meaning that you know a lot more information from a lot less talking meaning you can respond and react swifter and more efficiently.
15:30 I know you had a med gun - you can use it on yourself with B and even dose yourself with anti-concussion drugs in advanced mode so that horrid vignette at least gets better.
I know you’re probably sick of doing these but a lot has changed since you last pvp ship tier list. You’re the best pilot I’ve seen so far. Any chance you could do a quick one.
One day playing solo, I landed my Corsair right next to Ghost Hollow with the intention to clear out the ground riff raff and collect some guns. I jumped in a turret and started picking off one group. Another group aggro’d me and was able to shoot thru my turret canopy and kill me. Could you not do the same with an extra team outside the Reclaimer windscreen and shoot into the cockpit?
Sweet boarding action. Does the AVS Spartan team have a dedicated combat medic role? I could see benefit in having members of a team whose whole job is dealing with casualties so priorities aren't split
We are all able to function as medics, someone can take up the role dynamically in combat. It's best to focus on our philosophy as Spartans and Marines and I urge you to come hang out in our FPS channels and ask the Spartans what we're about
Nice! The only mission I used to play was the one you have to clear a ship from pirates. I played it with my brother with no armor, a few meds, pistols only and 2 mags. Do you guys do this often? can I join?
8:40 You declared that room 'clear' but what you possibly don't realize is that people can prone underneath that drone lift in the middle of the room. Me, I would have just pre-emptively tossed a grenade under there to be certain. ; )
Orgs get two groups together and separate their comms so they can act as hostile forces. It's PvP practice. My Org does this now and then at varying locations.
The Ai in this game is some of the worst I've ever seen. You can literally RUN around naked and punch enemies to death because they don't target you quick enough. It looks great but is old school basic MMO gameplay. Kill, Mine, pickup, deliver etc. I spent $6K+ on this game and haven't played in 6months. There are so many games more fun than SC and I dont even think about it unless I click on people I subbed to. There are ships I bought in 2013 still unreleased. Huge CORPs literally have to make things up to do because it is so god damn boring. It all a dead waste land. No flora or fauna to interact with. No destructable environments except ships. It's a beautiful void to waste your time. Flying around to earn credits so CIG can wipe it all next patch in their 10year beta.

Crazy how complicated stuff gets just to communicate with this many people

This was so much fun! Can't wait to go again after all we learned from it. Nothing beats trial by fire!
Great vid my guy, lots of teaching moments here for everyone
in the intro-scene you can clearly (not) see a cloaked klingon bird of prey outside the airlock :D
Gotta love the shotgun spray of the Karna... 🤦♂
Thanks for showing what a fun sandbox this game can be, even in it's current state
Great video. Just started SC but will look you guys up once I get some experience. Back to mining and dodging pirates😂
You gave us the new Top Gun music!🎉

What armor are your guys wearing? Started last week and ive been watching your content a lot.
I just got a javelin, having some shipboarding on that badboy would be dope
Head injury really makes noticing threats difficult in dim corridors.
Very cool and a good change of pace.

I’m getting a pair of vkb evos and I wanna learn to dog fight ❤ the vids have fought me quite a bit
How can the servers hang on and not 30k after this?
Praise Pico!

Correct
Look at all of these Arma 3 milsim guys. =)
this sorta shit brings me back to planetside 1 days
Was this PVP or was this a contract???
needs more xenomorphs but otherwise star citizen FPS is looking good 👍
This is cool but would be better with a dead dont speak and injured only scream rule... then watch the composure levels change
oof that team kill xD
BRUH D:
you know it's staged gameplay when you have 1/4 of the server population on a single ship
Yea, it's an OPERATION
Don't think this was hidden given they had rounds.
