In order to prove his strength, he creates the Jackal Squad mercenary group with the end all goal of taking down eggman. However when raidjig one of Eggman's bases, Infinite made a critical error in judgement that caused his whole team to be wiped out, and then he was brutalized by Shadow who mocked him for being weak. Eggman then took his body and experimented on fusing him with the phantom ruby and ended up altering his memories to show Sonic and his team attacking the village and being the cause of every bad event in his life. This fractures his mind and causes him to become hell bent on gaining more power. Wait wtf, this is a kids game. Why am I doing this
Because this Parallels Shadow's story so WELL! While Shadow was trying to figure himself out, he caused someone else to feel that same pain he was, and Forces could have been about Shadow coming to terms with what he did to another person that led to so much destruction, all while helping Sonic get through to Infinite! THAT would have been a great story, and it would also connect Infinite to Whisper (IDW is canon, remember that) which provides another way to tie Shadow into the main cast later down the line, maybe even helping him to be a bit more... willing to listen... by the time we get to the Zombot mess! And remember in Forces, the Phantom Ruby's replacements were obviously fakes, we as the players could see the glitching. Maybe that glitching could have been from the fact that Infinite's mind wasn't clear or whole, distorting the Phantom Ruby's power! We could've seen this jackal in the Zombot mess, and his illusions would be a lot more solid, maybe even causing distractions for the Zombots and messing with the Deadly Six! Also, in the Zombot fight, we see our main characters genuinely suffering, so maybe at least showing some slight signs of Sonic struggling after the 6 months of torture would be helpful, and a flashback during the Zombot arc when Infinite would show up? SEGA YOU COULD HAVE DONE ALL OF THIS IF YOU HAD WRITTEN INFINITE RIGHT! Actually, no, wait, I'LL write this or something.

really the song goes so much deeper into the character, past, personality, motives and essence of Infinite yet Sega butchered it to keep tiny toddlers safe from gory and dark theme of the character by straight up making him act like a genuine fool. the songs speaks for itself but sega destroyed what might have been the most tragic and dark character in Sonic's history.

“Machine, I will cut. You. Down. Break you apart. Splay the gore of your profane form across the stars! I will grind you down until the very *SPARKS* cry for mercy! My hands shall *RELISH* ENDING YOU *HERE AND NOW!* “
Re work of infinites backstory ig. Made it edgy af coz why not. The battlefield was chaos incarnate. Fire raged and steel clashed as Shadow the Hedgehog carved through Eggman’s forces like a phantom of vengeance. Standing between him and victory was a jackal, the leader of the infamous Jackal Squad-a soldier feared across the wastelands for his deadly cunning. His name was unimportant then, but his reputation preceded him. They called him the Reaper of the Sands. The squad’s mission was to defend one of Eggman’s deadliest creations: a towering machine housing a weapon of unspeakable destruction-a black hole bomb. Shadow’s purpose was simple: destroy it and leave nothing standing. The Jackal Squad fought savagely, their leader a whirlwind of claws and steel. But Shadow was relentless. One by one, the jackals fell, their lives extinguished in the wake of his power. Their leader refused to retreat, standing his ground as Shadow tore through his comrades. Even as the bomb began to destabilize, Infinite fought with fury unmatched. But Shadow was faster. Smarter. Deadlier. In a single decisive blow, he destroyed the machine. The resulting explosion unleashed the bomb's horrifying power. A black hole erupted, its event horizon consuming everything in its path. Shadow, with Chaos Control, narrowly escaped the grasp of oblivion. From a safe vantage, he turned back to witness the nightmare. The Jackal Squad, every last one of them, was caught in the gravitational maw. Time twisted cruelly as they were stretched and torn apart, their bodies unraveling into strands of nothingness. Their screams echoed across the void. The jackal leader-the one who would come to be known as Infinite-stood at the edge of the event horizon. The Chaos Emerald gifted by Eggman saved him from the immediate pull, encasing him in a fragile bubble of energy. But salvation was its own torment. As his comrades reached out, their forms dissolving into strands of nothingness, he reached back. His arm extended, fingers straining to grasp theirs, but the distance between them stretched forever. His screams joined theirs, a roar of anguish that reverberated through the void. Time fractured. For Shadow, it was over in seconds. But for the jackal, those seconds stretched into eons. Trapped at the edge of the black hole, he felt his mind fragmenting under the weight of eternity. The emerald protected his body, but not his soul. The black hole whispered to him, its voice a cruel melody of infinite despair and endless rage. When the jackal finally emerged, he was no longer the soldier he once was. His armor, warped by the black hole’s energy, had become jagged and menacing. His helmet, carved from the remains of his shattered mind, bore a visage of unspeakable terror. He had forged it himself during his imprisonment, each jagged edge a reminder of his failure and his suffering. He no longer needed a name; he was Infinite-a being beyond comprehension, born of despair, and forged in the fires of madness. The black hole had not destroyed him. It had remade him. Its immense energy had seeped into his very being, granting him power over reality itself. He could twist the world to his will, warp existence into a reflection of his eternal pain. Shadow watched in stunned silence as Infinite emerged from the void. His aura was suffocating, a storm of raw hatred and grief. Shadow could see it in his eyes: the jackal was no longer alive in the way mortals were. He was something else now, a revenant of rage, carrying the torment of infinity within him. Infinite’s voice, when it came, was a guttural snarl, laced with venom and sorrow. “You escaped. They didn’t. And now… I will make sure you understand what it means to lose everything.” Shadow said nothing. There was nothing he could say. He had created this monster, this being of infinite suffering. And Infinite would ensure that the world would never forget it.
U know...like instead of the ass beat he got from shadow which made him crash out for being weak type backstory thought about tying it with a black hole or something
I can just picture the next open world sonic game. A set of side quests lead to a surprise return of Infinite and you fight him hand to hand Frontiers style and this remix plays, would be so awesome.
Funny thing; I have a frontiers mod that replaces tower with Infinite, and whenever I fight Tower I play this music, and even better, I have a shadow mod
I wish others would talk more about the addition of guitars in this remix. Especially at 1:15, 1:28 and 1:42 adding counter melodies to the chords that are played in the original. This is a new arrangement choice that was added deliberately, and I think it would have been pretty difficult considering the original already had a decent amount of space in the mix filled in by the chords alone. Taking down some of the mids on the main instrumental to give room for it must have been difficult but it sounds better as a result. The chorus at the beginning is also really interesting with the mix blanketing the guitars to the point of actually being unable to hear the strumming mostly. The synths are also a bit low on it too I think. But that decision is cool I think because on the later chorus where you added the other guitars again for the melodics it pushes a different kind of urgent feeling, even if the notes are just a few. I like this mix good job on it.
I really want to see a return or re attempt to make infinite a better villain or something. Everything from what his backstory could be to his powers gives him so much potential, but the fact that he hates shadow and the others just because he was called weak is stupid. He wanted to protect his comrades, so that could have been a far better reason to stick to. I think he was an awesome villain, but there's so much wasted potential for him
It's effectively Z Broly syndrome; Broly on the face of it is a really interesting contrasting character, as a literalization of "the legendary super saiyan", but his original execution is widely criticized for being motivated by a literal crying baby. Great character concept kneecapped by an absolutely dogshit backstory and character motivation.
I think that someone commenting on a different video said it best: Infinite is a villain who is accidentally similar to real life people who think they’re so badass, only to throw temper tantrums when someone beats them
Infinite can literally manipulate reality, making him one of, if not the strongest sonic character. I NEED a game where his full potential is expressed and his backstory is fixed
0:41 "Machine I Will cut You down, Break You apart, Splay The gore- Your profane form across The stars, I Will grind you down until the very sparks cry for mercy, My hands shall relish Ending You here and now"
Well, I just discovered an Easter egg in this song I can't unhear. If you listen closely in the first 35 seconds, you can hear faint screams. I put the song on a equalizer and set to a custom setting, bass boosting the song, and I was able to hear said screams.
Still to this day, Infinite is one of the best villains out there. I always love the fact how infinite's theme's first lines are just a reference to Zavok, Chaos, Metal Sonic, and Shadow. Although, on my opinion, I kinda was hoping instead of Shadow, it would be Mephiles. But I ain't complaining. It all goes hard. All we need now is a new sonic game with Infinite as the main villain this time instead of having Eggman as the last villain to defeat..
This song and just the visual design of Infinite was the entire reason I got back into sonic after years, but then they just didn't use him to his full potential. A shame for a cool looking character
Dude after I listened to this, I rewrote his backstory and redesigned him. The reason for the redesign was because we never see what happens to him after Forces.
When I first saw Infinite, I honestly thought he was going to be like some sort of eldritch god or higher dimensional being since his cubes looked like tesseracts. Would of loved if they went down that route.
0:51 "Machine... I will Cut you down, Break you Apart, SPLAY THE GORE OF YOUR PROFANE FORM ACROSS THE STARS!" "I will Grind you down Until the VERY SPARKS CRY FOR MERCY!" "MY HANDS SHALL RELISH ENDING YOU, HERE, AND, NOW!"
I saw a reply to another comment say this and i would like to say that i agree fully, if we got another sonic game that includes infinite again it should definitely include him fighting silver once more. Silver's always been a favourite character if mine because I used to have huge interest in dystopian reality's so his whole theme of the future being destroyed was awesome for me. It's also great to see him confused and not understanding how to to people in games like team sonic racing. Plus, I really loved how it represented his courage in his actual fight with Infinite. Infinite also had a decent backstory if you think that about it, his whole team was destroyed, possibly killed, and he potentially had close relationships with them. After failing to lay a finger on Shadow, the one who destroyed his team, and then being told by thay same guy that he was weak was his breaking point. That's when he became the villain he was. I feel like if forces had shown his squad in episode shadow then people would like infinite more. It was also fun to see in the fight with Silver and Infinite that it took place in the same location as Infinite's fight with Shadow did (If you can call that a fight). Plus, Infinite treated Silver the same way he was treated by Shadow. If people think more about his character and his moments instead of just deciding based on only what the cutscene shows then he'd be more loved. And honestly, I'd pay for Sega to make a silver the hedgehog game where the antagonist is Infinite.

BEST VERSION OF THE SONG!!!!! This feels like a true medley of Infinite, and the only word I can use to describe it is EPIC!!!!!
Edgy in the bad sense of the word. But that’s all the charm!
With a theme like this, I expected the most tragic backstory in sonic history. But no... he just... got beat up by shadow... that's it.
really the song goes so much deeper into the character, past, personality, motives and essence of Infinite yet Sega butchered it to keep tiny toddlers safe from gory and dark theme of the character by straight up making him act like a genuine fool. the songs speaks for itself but sega destroyed what might have been the most tragic and dark character in Sonic's history.
Atleats it leaves room for fan canons @@Ssilhouette73
If you think about it, this is the furthest Eggman has gone to actually physically CORRUPT another animal in Sonic’s world
Woah!! Infinite’s theme was already amazing, but this…..this is just….a masterpiece!! I wish this is how it originally was!! It gives off even more of a villainous vibe. This edit is very well done! Amazing job! Definitely saving this to my favorites! 👏👏👏

You really just went and made one of the most banger Infinite remixes of all time like that?
And now… I will make sure you understand what it means to lose everything.”
Shadow said nothing. There was nothing he could say. He had created this monster, this being of infinite suffering.
And Infinite would ensure that the world would never forget it.
U know...like instead of the ass beat he got from shadow which made him crash out for being weak type backstory thought about tying it with a black hole or something
4:43 easily THE best part of the song, love this song

Welcome to the club
I was never a sonic fan but wow, this is a banger.
Singlehandedly made me want Infinite to come back in a later game
this is SO underrated
I can't stop jamming to this!
Glad this song is getting more recognition it goes too hard for a sonic forces remix.
Love how you meshed all the songs together and how natural it sounds😁
@@Hexagonaldonut Honestly the best way to put it, no notes on my end.
I think that someone commenting on a different video said it best: Infinite is a villain who is accidentally similar to real life people who think they’re so badass, only to throw temper tantrums when someone beats them

WOW! This is epic! The best remix of this song I've heard!
"And after all this time you're back more"
Seems random but this one of favorite lyrics from a Sonic song
This was a masterpiece. Truly a gift. If I couldn’t listen to this again for free I would buy this song. Thank you sir. 🙏
This song and just the visual design of Infinite was the entire reason I got back into sonic after years, but then they just didn't use him to his full potential. A shame for a cool looking character
This is honestly amazing, how many other great remixes will he make?
Dude after I listened to this, I rewrote his backstory and redesigned him. The reason for the redesign was because we never see what happens to him after Forces.
Way late to this, but damn...this is the best version of Infinite's theme straight up. Spectacular job!
