    I would also include the 24-08 and the CE 24 SE as another choice for people
    looking for a more versatile guitar because of all of the pickup switching options on the 24-08 and the bolt-on neck of the CE SE.

    Thank you for the great video. I just purchased the exact guitar that was in the leaked image from your video a few days ago and will be posting a video about it later today.

    Thank you for doing this guitar overview & comparison to the core model.Very informative. I'm like you, I have quite a few core models. Pure excellence. This will be my 2nd SE model.

    Personally I like the PRS Fiore Mark Lettieri model the most , but it is too expensive .

    I think it would be very educational to get your take on the z coil pickups offered by g&l compared to these near field.

    My only comment is your old NF3 has a better looking pick guard. I guess they wanted to make it look more strat like, but I actually like the look of the older one better.

    They should have done the SE with the dot inlay options too.

    These new NF DD pickups are quite different than the original NF's. The way I see it, the NF3 SE is basically a Silver Sky SE with noiseless single coils.

    Interesting video and guitar. I have a core CU24 with a standard neck (2008) and a core Silver Sky. I love the neck profiles on both of those.
    If only this had a pattern regular neck - my favourite. It would be this or the SE DGT that I would consider (no funds for the core DGT and core NF3 could be interesting I available secondhand)… thanks again.

    For entry level I think Sire, Squier CV and Tokai do a great job. One tier higher PRS is definately a brand to consider 🤠

    My personal favourite neck is the Pattern Thin on the CE 24. I wonder if they made the scale length of the SE NF3 25.5" will it sound more Strat-like? They did use the longer scale length for the more recent Silver Sky, Fiore and then NF53/Myles Kennedy.
    I really like the Fiore, but not so much the chunky neck. I hope they make a SE version of it, if they can figure out a way not to cannibalise sales for the Core model.

    Hi, have you heard of the EG / SE-EG? The EG-1 goes back to 1990. I think there are some EG prototypes in the 1980's, but I could be amiss (I would have to dig).
    In any case, by the time the SE-EGs rolled out -- could be 1990's, noting I have three SE-EG's from the 2000's era (one SSS and two SSH's) -- they had a familiar S-type "look" (the S-type vibe started with the EG-1).
    I have a playlist that features my SE-EGs. What I like about the PRS EGs is the 25" scale length. The 25.5 length is a little long for working lower frets for certain hand-formations while a 24.5 length is a tad too scrunchy for upper fret work (well, for someone with long fingers), whereas the 25" scale length is just perfect.
    Speaking of which, I think the NF3 is 25" scale length? (I recall seeing that somewhere)

      Yes I have heard of it but I’ll be the first to admit I haven’t done much deep diving into the EG family of guitars. Separately the core NF3 has a 25.25 inch scale length. The SE has 25

    there are a few reasons why i don't like strats. most, if not all, of those reasons seem to be addressed in this guitar. the Silver Sky addresses none, it's a strat made by PRS. period. but this guitar, i kinda like.
    there is an open slot in my guitar collection with the label "reserved for a nice PRS SE". this guitar *won't* occupy that slot (it appears it may be taken by the Zach Myers), but it is a real contender for the open slot marked "the strat that isn't a strat".
    but, being a tele guy, i would get an SE version of the new PRS "Teles" in a *heartbeat* no hesitation. so it is possible, in time, that i will own 3 PRS SE guitars.
    but i WILL get one, at least. no respectable guitar collection that boasts a certain amount of diversity is complete without a guitar with those beautiful birb inlays.

      The Strat for people who don’t like Strats has been an original description for the NF3 for years . And yes bird inlays are amazing

    Just got a PRS SE NF3 Ice Blue rosewood. The High E String is not aligned with the pole piece at the High E string magnet. I was informed that this is PRS designed and made to have the High E string as close to the core PRS Core model which also doesn't have the E string in line with the pole piece. Can anyone advise? Also the Low E string is not aligned at the centre of the pole piece. So all the 6 strings are not aligned with the centre of the fingerboard. I find this strange

    • @ministryofguitar
      @ministryofguitar  Місяць тому

      Pole pieces don’t always exactly line up to strings . Has minimal impact on tone . Theoretically aftermarket pickup makers offer options to better align to strings but I’ve not noticed any difference in sound.

    • @markandrew2894
      @markandrew2894 Місяць тому

      @@ministryofguitar Thank you Utkarsh. However, for my NF3, the 6 strings do not line up in the centre of the neck. Ie, the 6th string has way more less width to the edge of the fretboard then the hign E sting. All strings should be separated evenly in the fretboard right?
      Would appreciate inputs., thanks

    Looks awesome .. I kinda want one.. 800 bucks for a new guitar isn’t bad at all these days … I’ll wait to get one for 500 on inevitably dumps on the used market though … the thing with poplar is it’s heavy or tends to be , just saying

    I'm torn about PRS. The Tremonti signature model would seem to be my balliwick, but time and again, the neck is all wrong. Painfully so if I play one for long.
    The Swamp Ash Special has the neck I want, but the pickups are a bit off.
    The PRS that I keep gravitating to is the triple soapbar Custom 22. Trouble is this a specialist, modesty rare, and expensive at any time. They simply ooze blues, and play like silk dipped in Scotch. Since my influences are more prog-rock, I tend to sound like a nerd singing the blues over a failed Star Wars movie. It's just odd.
