Sad to say that I have even more 12x12 paper pads than you do and have really been struggling with how to store/organize them so that I can find what I want to use. I really like your system-this just might be the answer to my problem. Thanks Stina!
OMG! You are a genius! Thank you so much for sharing this idea. I have close to a 100 12 by 12 paper pads and is so hard to use them because I can’t remember what I have. Thank you again I’ll definitely do this.
oh! I like this system and as a 20 year scrapbooker I know I have some spare 12x12 albums and probably a 6x6 album also that I can use. The one thing I would add is for those pads that you have in both sizes maybe add a post a note onto the 12x12 album page that just says "also in 6x6". Thanks for this wonderful idea.
I have close to one hundred pads alone not including single sheets. Been collecting for years Never had the space or time to use it. Now i have a room.i like this system but i didn't want to take the covers off because i have so many at some point i may sell some so i looked them up and made prints. Not sure how to organize the ones i couldn't find pictures of. Still have to put the numbers on them. So much to organize in my room. Thanks for sharing
I write the name of the pad on the glue part of the pad and store them with that showing out. 8x8s are in a bin and 6x6 I am fortunate enough to have shelves that fit them perfectly. I am using them so much more often now that I can find them. I am going to catelog them and had thought of using the covers like you did your 12x12s. My daughter has everything on a spread sheet (stamps, punches, stencils, etc.) so I am adding paper pads to that. We can pull it up on our phone at the store so we don't buy duplicates so often!!
I seem to change my way of organizing at least a few times. :) I did the spreadsheet for a little bit and another computer program. I can't remember it right now. Then I gave up. Fortunately I've only bought duplicates on paper pads a couple of times. I'm glad the spreadsheet is working for you. :)
Its the same mistake we make with grocery shopping. We need to shop our cabinets first and take stock before heading to the store. This way we will stop wasting money and space on things we already have. I think its a bit more difficult to keep written track of paper pads as they are more visual but coming up with some system is crucial because I think all crafter have the problem of organizing their supplies...especially paper.
you are awesome!!!!! i found you by googling "how to store 12 x 12 paper pads so you can see every page" Your video is exactly what i am going to do!!!! Thank you. One question...why don't you re-use spent numbers?
@@stinaswansonakagiddygurl6720 i thank you every day for this idea!!!!! i make pillow boxes for people and it is so quick and easy to let the client look through my "swatch book" to choose the papers!!!!!! i heart you!!!!
@@stinaswansonakagiddygurl6720 it's the most organized and space saving way to store paper pads!!! i can get 3 pads in one box...then i use those round garage sale price stickers to show me which pads are in the box!!!! The boxes stack 4 tall on my shelf.
Maybe I missed it. But how do you store the rest of the paper packs after you take the covers off? I saw that you labeled them, but how do you store the so you have easy access. Mine are so crammed together, I can't even pull them out without a huge struggle. Makes me not want to use them, soooooo, go buy a new one that I can get to.
Hello Debbie, I store my paper vertically on my shelf so that I can easily pull it out by the tab. Stacking them on top of each other will definitely make the bottom pads difficult to grab and go. Since making this video, I have only bought a few paper pads. I shop my catalog first.
Thank you. Single sheets I would break them into a rainbow color and coordinate that way and separate with dividers. I don't buy the single sheets unless I have a specific project; and it gets used then.
Thanks for responding. 😊. I read the comments and saw that you also did this with your 6x6’s and 6 x 8’s. Any advice in regards to those? Did you use smaller sized binders and page protectors? Did you just continue numbering? I have so many 6x6 pads that I am overwhelmed. Thanks so much!
@@michelec9868 I had 12 x 12 page protectors that were sectioned off into 6 x 6. So I did the same thing. For the 6 x 8, I cut an inch from the top and an inch from the bottom. I think I got the page protectors from Close To My Heart. It's been so long ago. I think Totally Tiffany may have something similar. I have not done any of my 8 x 8, yet. I don't have a lot of those, so I may just take pictures and print on 25 lb copy paper.
Love that idea! Paper hoarders unite 😁
Wow, so glad I found this video, what an amazing idea for organizing scrapbook paper! I'm totally going to do this!!! Thanks for sharing!
You are so welcome. Have fun organizing. It's tedious, but well worth it at the end.

100% it's still working. I always go to my 'catalog' first.

Nice
Just realized my original comment didn't include the 6x6 paper pads!
Guilty,guilty 😔I have over 40 paper pads I haven't touch yet, and I have a wish list.
