DC just doesn’t like taking risks. The fact that we live in a reality where a Lego Batman gets a movie and Teen Titans Go gets a movie before we get a Batman Beyond movie is insane.

@@karimdavis7065 I’m mostly talking about the movies. I know they make straight to dvd movies, but those don’t really count. It seems to me that they always go the safe route and just make Batman and Superman movies. And if something fails they’ll never want to do it again. Because Green Lantern sucked, DC or WB refuses to try again with another live action movie. Hell I believe that because of everyone’s reaction to Batman and Robin, we never get to see a modern interpretation of the dynamic duo. All we get are just hints of the character of Robin.

James Gunn also said that the DCU would also include animated films, so if he bases the DCU off of the DCAU, Beyond, as well as Static has a place in this universe.

Okay so let me get this straight, so season 2 of Velma got greenlit but coyote versus acom and Batman Beyond did not get greenlit, wow it is really the end of the world, Warner Bros is making bad decisions right now.
Fun fact: they had this movie planned a while back. I believe Clint Eastwood was eyed to play as Bruce Wayne. Correct me if I’m wrong though
Imagine if by the time Beyond the spider verse almost came out or even months after we got our own animated batman beyond movie. An older bruce wayne (Lord we miss you Kevin) perhaps about ready to give up meets Terry and helps him out. It could be like the TV show in the beginning. That would be the coolest thing ever if Terry McGinnis made a comeback in popularity and became a mainstream hero like Miles.

It's just a theory i think they didn't greenlight the animated movie 5 months ago because that was the time when WB was thinking about doing a live action batman beyond with Micheal Keaton ( we know live action make more money than animation) so they didn't greenlight it , because they don't want two batman beyond project on the same time in the market
But now it's possible because james gunn is a huge fan of spiderverse and he be could greenlight it as else World story
And besides ANIMATED movies don't need huge budget
WB need to stup up there animation department

Where is it
Keaton wasn't the reason the Flash tanked at the box office, that was almost all on Ezra Miller's personal issues, in fact the Flash wasn't a bad movie and Keaton, as always, makes a comic book movie better. Keaton as the Vulture in Spiderman was terrific, and arguably carried that movie, and he almost did it again in the Flash. If anything please include anything/more Michael Keaton in any comic book movie, the guy is legend.
There was also the Batman beyond game that was cancelled and was instead Gotham Knights

It’s about Warner Bros not wanting to take risks. Those of us who grew up watching the Batman Beyond show know it’s a concept twenty years beyond its time. But in today’s world, more than half the fans out there don’t know about Batman beyond and can’t associate Batman with anybody else other than Bruce Wayne. I really hope a Batman beyond movie can come out in the future

In this swamp of comic book and cartoon live action updates the two biggest properties that no one has touched are Batman Beyond and Gargoyles. How these two dynamite properties haven’t been remade in this environment is really confusing.

I hope they'll do the animated movie considering James Gunn's number one favorite comic book film is "Into the Spiderverse" which literally this could be DC's competitor of that. Also the person who works on the Spiderverse movies is literally the one who's working on that project why reject it? Man if I was a big movie maker and I was responsible for making a live action batman beyond, as a gift to the fans, I would create a live action version of the animated series' intro and integrate it as part of the intro of the movie itself to make it 'feel' like another batman beyond episode.

Sometimes I wish executives could just look at fan bases and see the excitement and want for projects like this. If they do Batman Beyond right, it could be DC’s next big thing. I am so excited for Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 2. Hopefully Terry will gain traction from it ❤

I'm pretty sure the reason is they don't want it associated whith spiderverse, they want it's own thing even visually, making the same kind of movie with the same kind of animation is something a rival company would think twice before being perceived as "we aknowledge their better so we are shamelessly COPYING it" James Gunn would be okay with animation since he wrote a series and a movie himself (the movie got cancelled), but Zaslav is the real problem, he doesn't just hold the money he also protects hardly the image of the company!
James gunn is gonna get rekt. I think all this batman and superman justice league stuff just needs to not get touched for at least 5 years. people are tired of it, make a couple of good solo movies, batman beyond would be a game changer.
WB wants to do something similar to the 90’s series. Basically taking an already established universe and making a sequel to that. So basically the only way we’d get a Batman Beyond movie would be making it in the Nolan universe. “Why not Keaton?”, my guess would be they don’t like his Batman, I mean they did cancel the Batgirl movie he was in, also they could say he doesn’t bring in any money because of how The Flash turned out.
So anyways they either make it in the Nolan universe or make a sequel to the original animated series and do a Neo Year kinda thing, or what is most likely, we’ll not see a Batman Beyond project for a long long LONG time. At least until they make a Batman universe worthy of a Batman Beyond project and do something similar to Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049.😢

I would definitely support a batman beyond film. The best primary villains for a Batman Beyond film would be Blight, Inque, and Shriek with Curare and Mad Stan as secondary villains.

Waiting on a Batman Beyond movie to see how well The Flash did when that movie was mired in controversy is such a weird move to me. If he decided to look at the general consensus when the movie released and was coming up he probably would’ve seen that most hype being drummed up around that film was because Michael Keaton was going to be in it

If had any chance of talking to James Gunn, and getting heard, I would say, do a hard reset on DC. Now, I know there's a new Superman movie already happening, and I know "The Batman" is probably going to remain the Batman series for a while, but here is what you could do. Keep those movies as part of a new set of standalone movies, with the potential for cross over if and when it makes sense to have one. So, you have Bats and Supes, cool, now what? Hold off on Wonder Woman, even though she is one of the three main DC characters, and instead come in with, "Static Shock". If that does well, come in with a John Stewart Green Lantern, hinting that Hal is off saving other parts of the galaxy right now. Now you have three of the core 7 JLA members, and Static, who can be more peripheral in the way Spidey is for the MCU. Next up: Martian Manhunter. That leaves Wonder Woman, Flash and Hawkgirl. These three get introduced in your first Justice League movie. Then you can keep doing standalones, and principally stick with those, and instead of finding a Thanos sized villain, do Joker, Luthor team ups and smaller "big threats" like that, because you're DC and that's your wheelhouse. Ultimately, when you bring in a Darkseid or someone like that, you can pull a play from the animated Justice League, and have Luthor offer his help because he doesn't want the Earth he wants to control to fall to Darkseid.

I think this proves target audiences should be involved in what movies get green lit or at least studios should see their opinions on possible movies. I hope this animated Batman beyond movie gets made. The people who shot it down are allergic to money.
