  • In the tutorial video Paul Senior demonstrates & explains the technique & gear needed to fish Sliding Kaburas or Tai Kabura. Our version is called the Ocean Angler Slider.
    It's still one of the most effective slow jig lures & very easy to fish.

    Been fishing for over 30 years since I was a kid in the Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico and never saw these lures until very recently. Very excited to try these technique as soon as my lures arrive in Florida, US.

    I'll give you all a hot tip. Try putting a strip of bait on the hooks aswel. You don't have to jig them and the fish go straight to them

    Good vid guys. Which is the name of the knot between the multi and the fluoro leader? Cheers!

    • @LRH87
      @LRH87 6 років тому +1

      fdocmac it’s called an Albright Knot.

    • @pakde8002
      @pakde8002 3 роки тому +1

      Actually, it's an improved Albright knot also known as crazy Alberto knot. The Albright knot doesn't use returning wraps, just the first 7 wraps and then back out the hole it came in thru.

    +anglertv why do you have to use Flourocarbon ? what if youll attached it directly to your existing braid?

    • @austinprosser4179
      @austinprosser4179 8 років тому

      flurocarbon or (mono leader) is less abrasive towards structure and doesn't slip as much with knots if any.. also its near invisable underwater!

    • @pakde8002
      @pakde8002 3 роки тому +1

      Bottom species will try to wrap your line on corals or run up under rock ledges, which will ruin expensive braid. If you're fishing sandy bottoms with little structure the braid is probably okay but the mono or fluoro leader has other properties including some stretch, in addition to previously mentioned low visibility and abrasion resistance.

      go buy a solid tip rod. Major craft is more affordable about 130- 200USD. Shimano will be more expensive at about 600Usd. extremely fast action, make your own tai rubber, orange and red seems nor fail. use a Shimano oceanarium conquest 100-200 series or better still a engetsu premium, We call this either tai rubber or engetsu. Style develop in Japan. braid use duel hard core pe -1.0-max 1.5 , YGK Absorber FC 20lbs. You will enjoy catching fishes snapper sea bream. And hooks , need not use too big, small hook #12-#15 , but make sure you get the super sharp hook slip the Gamgatsu hooking master with the nano coating. you can get it from amazon.jp

    Hi . Do you have to use a 20lbs fluorocarbon?

    • @pakde8002
      @pakde8002 3 роки тому

      Ive heard a range of 15 to 25 lbs is fine. Monofilament is also fine if you don't have or like fluoro.

    I'm getting a bit pissed at the razor gang cutting off my expensive lures. Have found a flexible coated wire trace which would be ok but is 200lb so will affect action. Anyone have a similar problem and found a solution or product? Where can I procure it? Cheers.

  • @bababanshee

    The sliding jig does not pull away from the hooks unless you separate the jig and hooks before dropping it. Makes no sense for that to happen anyway as the hooks will wrap round the leader.

    Ocean Angler lures have way better hooks than the others on the market..After loosing a couple of good fish on another brand lure........I swapped to the bruised banana Ocean Angler lure.............
    Problem solved.

    I do kayak fishing and have used the 80gm slider in 8m or water and have great success. Even when I'm having a break and leave it about 1m off the ground in the rod holder I find its still working. I use a mono leader that cheaper then a fluorocarbon one and it still works a treat, but working the lure attracts more action for sure.

    one question... does the hook gets tangle with the leader on the drops?

    • @OceanAnglerTV
      @OceanAnglerTV  5 років тому

      We haven't found that to be an issue at all, but what does happen from time to time is a tangle can happen on the retrieve. But we just take care & don't have any hassels
