Single-Player Campaign scenario follows the real chronology of the battle starting with Operation Uranus on November 19th, 1942 and continues to the complete liberation of the city on February 2nd, 1943.
Ten Legendary aircraft of the era have been thoroughly re-created using original drawings and blueprints from the Central archive of the Russian Ministry of Defence.
Precise simulation of the flight model allows everyone to learn the special character and limits of each and every plane in the game. Use each of their special abilities and performance characteristics to complete your mission and survive the brutal fight.
I love the little passing burst from the tailgunner at 7:36 "AND THE HORSE YOU RODE IN ON!"
8:46 "Lets get out of here I think. We've had enough fun"
>Co-pilot takes a 20mm in the chest
Glad to see you flying the JU-88C, I love the aircraft and the missions you can fly with it, however the life expectancy of a pilot in one is quite short
9:30, phew! You managed (and hopefully your tail gunner) to make it back into friendly territory while behind enemy lines. Siberia POW camps would have been very brutal for you as only 6,000 German POWs at Stalingrad ever returned.
10:48, the proper term is the PS-84, it was the Soviet version of the C-47. The Li-2 was a PS-84 with a top gunner, also could have a waist gunner, and could also be used as a bomber.
POW on either side weren't treated well but let's be frank more Soviet soldiers came back only to be accused of desertion
I love the offshoot JU88's.
And so begins the saga of the Revenge of Hans Gruber! 😂😂
You don't want another Hans - when flying you should be Hans free!
Then he gets a Franz. That's no better.
Franz seems to be not always the best at at navigation --- to the point that the very act of getting lost/getting off course is to this day called "sich verfranzen" and the state of being lost to this day is called "verfranzt", as in "Ich hab' mich verfranzt". (Very roughly: I have Franz-ed myself.)
You are *somewhere* ... and that somewhere is
a) certainly not where you want to be
b) other than not being where you wanted to be you have no clue as to where you are.
In WW1 in the German "Fliegertruppen" (from 1916: "Luftstreitkräfte") the pilot would be "Emil" and the observer "Franz". Think of "George", the autopilot ...
Blimey! Talk about hectic 😲 that was a thrill ride and a half! 😯 excellent stuff Taff 👏🏴
Some gnarly flying and kills in this video. Great stuff!
New secret weapon the JU-88 collanderwaffe, " there speed holes" 😉🤣
Love the in cockpit animation of the ammo magazines. Definitely would not want to dogfight in this plane. Great flying experience in VR
Surprised those Pe-2/3 's did not turn and engage. Having been designed originally as a fighter, I would expect the Petlyakov's to give the Ju88 hell in a dogfight.
They just flew level and waited to be shot at.
7:35 Very nice cinematic shot!
That would be the JU88 Gruyère model 👍
Love your uploads
The Normandy DLC will hopefully come out on schedule. If it does, I'll be getting it.
Something tells me you’ll get it regardless, good sir ;)
I am amazed how fun this plane was. I was NOT excited for it when it was announced but it's such a neat experience
Oh that's cool. It's a fake cockpit on the front. I love that.
Such a fun aircraft. I find it a fantastic ground attacker. With some correct rudder use, it becomes pretty maneuverable for its type. Nice vid. Thanks and best wishes.
the very fastest Ju-88's used for Recon were extremely fast and could bolt along at well over 400 mph, of course it depends on altitude.
And you might not want to try flying circles and carry anything unnecessary ... like offensive weaponry. Sort of like the Height Climber Zeppelins of WWI, cut off everything not absolutely needed --- including structural stability for stronger winds.
Hahaha loved this mission.....very interesting and humourous as well.... totally forgot this could have been a genuine mission. Poor Old Han's 1....and l think because of the way you have been throwing that Ju 88 around that Han's 2.0 definitely bailed on ya....hahaha .....well executed
Cool vid taff looking forward to more and the mossie when it releases!
Oh be still my beating heart? There are going to be mozzies?
@@conmcgrath7174 yeah in the battle of Normandy module, it should be fully released this summer!
In the original series, my favourite move was to drop the dive breaks, and dump the nose,
And allow the belly gunner to take care of the problem..... it worked often enough ;-)
Does this variant even have a belly gunner??
A flying sieve! lol
Tuff aircraft.
Watched and 👍 Liked
Death Trap.. "Gott im Himmel!"
Bloody marvellous!
Note the fake glazing painted on the nose of the C-6, intended to fool enemy planes into thinking it was a less agile bomber 88.
i think it would have been funny and cool if you did a far zoom out shot like 15:15 and had a little arrow and text that said Hans died here bin and like it stops for a second or something ya know. or if crew members die you could do that to show us from far away when it happens. no one does that
Would have been nice if if there were a couple of 109s or 190s for escort (if available)but by 1942 the luftwaffe was starting to feel the strain of the war with commitments defending the Reich on three fronts…..
Very nice mission, I like it a lot
This was intense
thanks mate
Taff what is it with you and wrecking planes?!?!?!?!🤣😂🤣😂 Here *Deathly gurgles from Mighty 8th Wounded Crew* lol
Damn reversing your turn in front of a fighter is not healthy.
This fighter needs an escort. If you have a nimble little friend he can take care of your six while you go for the big game.
You need Hans to hold a little baby, you need Hans to wipe away a tear...
I’d love you to do aircraft reviews for the il2 stable
Turn-fighting in a Ju-88? Really, Taff? The Ju-88 was a fast versatile aircraft for it's day, but you're not going to out-turn single engine fighters. Seeing those cannons turn that Dakota into confetti was entertaining though!
I wish they had the variants with the 7.5 cm gun and the dual 3.7 cm guns.
This was entertaining as F
This was so much fun. I'd love to see you try and make a career of it!
It would probably be a very short one
@@jsmith3772 Not wrong there, mate.
Like a much bigger Bf 110 G-2!
Wow, that thing is an absolute dog.
I'd love to fly the 88 in career mode. But Jezus are the flights to and from target FAR. I tend to lose my patience with flying bearings for 40 minutes per mission. :)
Ah you would not like the U2VS career then. 80km/h to the target at night.
OMG! Suicide Run ..:D
Ouch!
Hans will be missed, no wait
I'm fairly certain *neither* Hans got, "missed."
Definitely the wrong tool for the wrong fight. Attacking multi-engine bombers beyond range of enemy fighters would be the best use of the Ju-88C (in the western theater). The least Luftwaffe command could do on the eastern front is send along some Bf-109s and/or FW-190's for escort. The Ju-88C doesn't seem to have the speed to boom and zoom otherwise.
11:57
What did that plane carry? Supplies?
She can take some stick...Jesus .ha ha.
Quite brave to attack a Peshka straight from behind. Their 14,5-tail gunner is so perfect. The German gunner with their airsoftguns are f....... useless.
Is that you offering to be the tail gunner and show us how to hit?
you were Fly'n that like it was a one way trip the whole flight..shame
Well, some people *want* to become a POW camp settler in Good Old Siberia instead of the Caribbean ... some cannot take the heat.
It's pointless flying a heavy night fighter like the Ju 88C in daylight in an area with lots of enemy single engined fighters. Waste of time. Even a Bf 110 would have a hard time surviving in that environment, let alone a converted Ju 88 bomber.
