- Mississauga Transit was inaugurated in 1969 under contract to Charterways in the south & Georgetown Transportation Company in the Malton Area. With just seven buses and three routes MT has grown over the years.

I completely remember when the Square One bus terminal was at the front of the mall, between the Bay and Woolco/Walmart. Amazing how things change.

I've always admired Mississauga Transit's bus fleet. They had been versatile for many years. They've had buses from GM, Flyer, Orion, New Flyer, Novabus with CNGs, Articulated, Diesel, Hybrid Electric. They had them all. Do versatile.
This is the Mississauga Transit video of all time.
9020 will forever have my heart 😢
Mississauga's 1989 Orion Vs (8901 to 8925) were not just the first such buses to go into actual production, but they were also the first wheelchair accessible buses for the agency.
I watched the whole thing. Great memories. My dad drove for mississauga transit from 1981 to 2014 Didn't see him :(
Cool busus. I really love them.
Thank very much. I really wish I had one.
Square one been through alot of changes for the better
I lived in Brampton during those years, and rode BT and MT a lot. BT also had the Orion full low floors, with the rear exit door behind the rear axle. From the passenger's view, they were p*** poor design, the mechanical systems took up a lot a room in the rear half, with hardly any seats. Drivers said they were much more frequently out of service due to constricted air flow underneath and poor access for brake servicing. The low floor Flyers (and the articulated versions) were much more sensible and had more seats -- low floor front and rear doors, then two steps up to the rearmost seats over the axle, using a completely conventional drivetrain arrangement.
There was so much more seating back then! Please bring these models back. I am so tired of being crammed in like a sardine in a tin can.
The buses from 1989 to 1993 are Orion V buses
Is there any " bus or train pass/card" for traveling Mississauga to Toronto

1989-2000's era before hyperinflation.
Lots of New Looks and a New Look articulated? I never saw one of those b4 in the States. And I thought MAN invented articulated buses. LOL
Ditto here! Even with years of transit riding and fanning [is that a word?] I never knew they existed.
I don't understand why they choose to put a Classic front on a New Look body. That articulated one is sick, just look odd with that classic front.
