I’ve had mine for around 6 years and I’ve had a ton of good times with it, from riding it 4,000km down to the Bonneville salt flat for speed week, to getting air going 300kph. Amazing bikes.
The time and discernment you put in! All the exotic and S tier parts!! I'm starting to mod my 19k miles 2007 I got last summer. You ain't kidding on the availability of peripheral upgrades. Those Rizoma mirrors are GONE. There's only one site that has the undertail ABS as mine is cracked and it's 200$ dollars =(. It's going to be a slow process. At least the previous owner put on TOCE T-Slash slip ons.
I just took delivery of a 2005 ZX-10R - green, of course. 11k on the clock. Great bike - my other ride is a Honda Blackbird, so I now have the best of both worlds. The super sports from '98 to '06 have tons of character. And no need to fiddle with any complicated electronics - just turn the key, grip it....and rip it 😎
She's beautiful. I like your tasteful mods. This is my favorite ZX-10R body by far. It's artful, especially the tail and the front. I bought a stock '06 back in '08; Pearl Solar Yellow. Had it until '11. Only mods I ever did were A&R race baffles, GIpro ATRE G1, SpeedoHealer, Vortex sprockets and ECU flash. Got 165 WHP on the dyno. I then got a Two Brothers Racing carbon single slip-on, and never retuned it, but the engine felt way stronger. Be safe on your beauty. God bless! EDIT: Yeah, that steering damper was just for looks. I'm surprised I never killed myself on the bike. 😬
I had a blue '07 I bought new but still think the Gen 1 looks more like a race bike (so I bought one, with only 1,500 miles). It's just as fast if not faster then the Gen 2, plus lighter and easier to mod
@@fzr1000981 Yeah. The Gen 1 is something else. It's wilder and lighter, and looks like a race bike for sure. I had a chance to get a green one when I went to pick up my '04 ZX-6RR that same year. Seller wanted to sell it to me, but it was my first bike. I don't regret getting the 600 first.

Hi Mark, beautiful collection of zx10r's you have. I have a question I found a rebuild Ohlin rear shock "KA3452" which is built for the 04 zx10r. Will this shock fit the 07
Yep, it should. M If you have an issue it will be the orientation of the reservoir, if not you could sell it easily or put a 08-10 swingarm if you ditch undertail exhaust

I will not lie, not a fan of the stock looks, or even lots of modded ones. To me, this was the only exhaust I even consciderd for my build

That Gilles looks more like Lightech the Gilles. Nut looks like gilles for sure.
The adjusters and nut are both 100% Gilles, not lightech

Legality is debatable, I have never been messed with for it though. Most states are pretty lienent as long as you can see it following behind the bike

Pretty aggressive, but nothing extreme. 06s have a bit of heat from the undertail. 05 doesn't have a heat issue

Very common issues on second gens. 3rd gen retainers fix the issue
