    Very interesting. The part about storing pressurized air in the salt caverns is pretty clever.

    I've known of those wells all my life. My people lived in the Hebron community of Clarke aka McLeod's Beat.
    During the war the Confederate government allowed the locals free access to make their own salt. My people did so.
    But during reconstruction the federals put a stop to it and salt became so scarce that the locals had to dig up the dirt floors of their smokehouses to recover salt that had dripped off the hams from years past.
