My baby son had a bone marrow transplant in 1997 at the age of 7 months, and due to complications he ended up tranquilized in ICU on a breathing machine for a week. Mothers can't sleep in ICU so I always had to leave him. The pediatric ICU nurses were willing to play this CD at night for him. Over and over, they would press play. My son had a truly miraculous recovery according to all the doctors. I know it was many things and prayers from many loved ones and those I've never met, but Carlos played his role, continuing the song of prayer for me while the stars were out. The nurses also found it healing and thanked me for introducing it to them, and I bought them a copy for their permanent use when we were discharged.

I used to suffer from existential depression which gave me insomnia, for 6 months, nothing helped. But your music brother, it is a miracle for me.
To you, it may just be playing an instrument, but you saved my life twice from suicide and sad thoughts.
This has also incredibly aided my insomnia, I don't know how to thank you.
I just hope that you know about this beautiful impact you are having on us, I love and appreciate you from the depths of my heart.

I used to work on cruise ships and one day in some US port I found a little new age shop and decided to shop for a new disc to use on board the Spa: every massage I gave since listening to this music became a sort of meditation-in-movement. I no longer do manual therapies but this album remains one of my all-time favorite, it is just incredible how deeply this music can touch the human soul..

Absolute agreement with you. I just came across this after reading and viewing on UA-cam the hundreds of Native Americans who were injured by the militarized police and national guard in Standing Rock, South Dakota. But it was back during a vacation in 1993 in New Mexico that I found this audio cassette and had it for almost ten years before I gave it away to someone who was struck by the profound beauty of R Carlos Nakai's music. It still holds twenty-seven years since it's release...

R. Carlos’ 1989 Canyon Records album Trilogy went Platinum (sold over one million copies) and in honor of this achievement, Canyon Records has released a special edition of the solo flute recording: Canyon Trilogy Deluxe Platinum Edition.
In my humble opinion, as a former music journalist, R. Carlos Nakai has single-handedly lifted the profile of indigenous music by taking his flute into a myriad of musical arenas and embracing the world’s traditions via a musical path.
“The song that I will sing is an old song, so old that none knows who made it. It has been handed down through generations and was taught to me when I was but a little lad. It is now my own song. It belongs to me. This is a holy song (medicine-song), and great is its power. The song tells how, as I sing, I go through the air to a holy place where Yusun (The Supreme Being) will give me power to do wonderful things. I am surrounded by little clouds, and as I go through the air I change, becoming spirit only.”

Like so many things in my life, it was the eye candy that first drew me to Mr. Nakai and his music. When searching for something new, different to listen to I saw the cover of Native Tapestry, I have been mesmerized by his music ever since.

I pick up this cd in the museum of natural history when I visited the native American Indian side and this was in 2002 feel in love with the music then got every other cd and from other artists to fall asleep with this music every day great music
I think this is the most beautiful thing I've ever experienced on the internet, I could watch it repeatedly, no kidding. Gives me such a peaceful feeling. I'm mixed Northern European and Mexican, through my Mexican side I am a descendant of the Tarahumara/Raramuri and Northern Tepehuan/Odami Indigenous peoples of Chihuahua State. When I listen to and watch this video, I really feel connected to those particular ancestors and to their lands. And it even makes me feel connected to US tribes and their land as well.
