Great video, Simple project but the process you went through was great with the explanations. All the tips and techniques in this video can apply to every project.
We are all Beginners each and every day we wake up. So many things to do so many things to learn. The machining setups and processes you do are not those of an inexperienced person. But I know what you mean. Thanks for watching Doc. 🙂
Hey, You sent me a link for that quick release tool post. 😁 I got it the other day. That thing is really nice. Its made of steel and very well put together. My other one was aluminum and only one side worked right. Thank you for that video and the link. 😉
Glenn, another great video. One thing that stood out to me is a good machinist knows their machine and the little quirks it has. When you took the cut one mill shy you knew in your mind that it was the safe thing to do given your machine and the operation you were performing. That is something that is only learned from experience brother. I have a personal relationship with my lathe and the Gibb strips😃. Ted
I started machining in the late 1960's and didn't see my first DRO until the 80's. 20years of counting turns of the hand. Shortly after that I got into CNC machining. But after 20 years on a manual mill counting the turns is etched in my brain. 🤪 Thanks for watching.

Thanks Deez, It sounds like you got my point, simple but with some directions. Thanks again for watching.
Although I've been machining for 20 years I still feel like I'm a beginner.
Thanks Hulkster, I always learn from your videos.

Hello Ted, Thank you for the kind words. I appreciate everything you've said. Thank you for watching and commenting. See you in the next video. 😃
Watching you count revolutions on the mill handles made me appreciate my DRO. I’m afraid I’d lose count after about 3 revolutions. 😂
