So surprised that Vietnam send a huge b787 on a regional flight! If we saw a London - Manchester or Innsbruck or Salzburg - Vienna we would think it’s s training flight or a emergency landing! Just shows how much demand there is for regional flights in Asia!

Awesome trip report! They will turn on the IFE for long flights after reaching the attitude. On short flights, especially domestic ones, when the IFE is turned on depends on the crew. Maybe you're unlucky to fly on this flight whose crew were not in a good mood so they turned on the IFE late :))

That 'movie' was 'Just For Laughs' a gag/prank 30min TV show, made here in Canada. We love it and many airlines use it in their programming because it is light and funny and keeps people in a good mood. :) Very nice report as usual.
Felixs tripreports are the best of all here on visuals field! Camera is not shaking, transitions are smooth. Very nice and comfortable for my eyes ;) Thank you!

The perk of not having an airbridge boarding is that you get to see the whole aircraft in its entire glorious form and get a great picture of how grand they are! I think most av geeks would rather not board using airbridges....lol.. unless it's raining cats and dogs
Thanks for your share, nice report. From my personal perspective, both check-in and security check in HCMC airport are extremely SLOW. It may cost near 1.5 hours if your flight is on peak period.
i dont think most people know this when they fly vietnam airlines, but at the end of the Heritage magazine, there are pages which show how many airplanes vietnam airlines fleet have, and the internation routes and regional routes on a big map.
I flew Ho Chi Minh to Hanoi and back last week, one scheduled on the B787-9 and one on the A350, both of which would've been my first time. Both equipments changed to A330. My luck...
The show that was playing was just for laughs gags I believe, I love that show! If I were on the flight with the entertainment system working, I'd be listing to fifth harmony!

Simply Aviation I was quite unlucky cause I booked the SGN-HAN sector on a 787 and it changed to the A321 and booked the HAN-SGN sector on a A350 and it changed to an A330.. but that’s life I guess. Looking forward to the next report mate!
Great video once again. I know English isn't your first language but we wouldn't say "sitting on 29A today..." you could say "sitting in 29A today..." or "sitting on seat 29A...". Not criticizing at all just thought it might be helpful to know.
+Gregg Clark I thought it's implied that 29A is a seat, which I'm sitting on. That's why I thought sitting on (seat) 29A is the correct way... But thanks for the heads up! :)
Most flights of this route are operated by A321 in the past, but now they just use A321 for night or early morning flights (The reason they use wide-body for this route because this (might) be one of the busiest routes in the world. Btw, I am Vietnamese😀

Just between 8h00-10h00 and 15h00-22h15 VNA operates SGN HAN with big aircrafts like 787, 350, 330; otherwise they’ll operate the 321 instead.
Flugzeug Dokus yeah I do know about some of these and agree. Btw emirates send A380 to Doha, Bahrain and Lebanon which are around just 1-2 hours away
Simply Aviation even posted a Tripreport on Swiss were they used a 777 for the route Zürich-Wien
